AuroraICS 2.03 unknown network without battery - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hey guys,
I'm using my x5 with the charger, because my battery will be replaced under warranty. And every time i want to activate my sim, i have no signal. But when i put a battery in, i have a signal. Does anyone have a solution?

Do you have any app, like battery saver? some have settings, that can turn off all connections like bluetooth, wifi and even mobile network, if the battery is less than 10% full. I've tried to replicate this problem on aurora 2.02 and my phone connects to network without battery.

I had a similar problem on official stock, i re flashed and got it fixed... Not sure if that would work for you ?

i flashed the rom very often, but no way. i also activated plane mode and only activated my sim also no signal

hi, did you install the official rom again and flash the ics again?

Yes

Legend wifi issues

Hi,
I am wondering if anybody has similar problems with wifi - 3g/data connection works perfectly, but when I am connected over wifi, after sometime the connection dies and I have to disable wifi and enable it again, in order to restore network access. I hoped that froyo would fix that, but as there is no froyo on the horizon I decided to ask.
The phone firmware is 2.1 update1
Software number 2.05.405.2

Yes I get this too. The connection is still active but many apps suddenly decide to notify me that I need a WiFi/3G connection before I can use them. Turning WiFi off and back on fixes it. This also happens on my branded Desire running 2.1, which may imply it is related to the router settings. I will have to test on other routers. My WLAN is configured to 802.11g only, WPA2-PSK only (WPA-PSK and 802.11b not allowed) on channel 13.
actually great to know that i'm not the only one. i get this all the time, and i even emailed htc about this and response was retarded. they told me how to connect to my router. i tried pretty much everything on this issue. connect and reconnect, change channel from 13 to 11 or 14, nothing seems to be working. hopefully 2.2 will change all this.

i think the htc legend has the worst wifi reception for all phones of 300 $
havent noticed a single improvement with every update
I had this problem with my first legend. The touch screen malfunctioned so I brought it back and got a replacement. The new one is much better. I am very happy with it.
For instance, in my home office I could never connect with my first legend, it would say association failed when trying to associate with the AP. On my new one it works and I've had it sitting on the desk now for about 4 hours and I picked it up and unlocked it and the wifi worked immediately.
I very occasionally had this until I switched the wifi sleep policy to never after reading somewhere that it would actually increase battery life and haven't had this problem since. Not noticed any difference with battery life though I only switch wifi on when I need it and off when I'm finished.

For what it's worth, I have the same problem and I'm sure it's related to my phone, not the routers.
I hade no problems with this before my last OTA update...

i dont want to hijack the thread but is the wifi antenna like **** for everyone or is just me?
im thinking that it might be the aluminium case that shield the antenna because reception is unbeliavable bad
im curious to know if desire/nexus mount the same wifi antenna as legend
if you put static ip it works perferct for me

I only have a problem very occasionally with wifi, maybe once per month, and I think this has more to do with my crappy router than anything else.
I have the same problem with WiFi cutting out afters while even when the phone hasn't been moved and when its situated inches from the router

Generally it is not good idea to have router and client too close together. That way radio noise increases and that's not good.
Thanks for the tip. but it does it downstairs too when Im watching TV the phone is well away from all electrical appliances, after toggling wifi bOFF/ON I get full signal strength.
Same here. After a few minutes normal browsing on Wifi, pages seem get so far then refuse to load. Only solution is to turn WiFi off then re-connect. The WiFi permission is set to never sleep. I'm not rooted and running stock wwe 2.3 ruu.

Same here!
Anybody have any ideas how to resolve this issue? It's really frustrating having to re-connect wifi every 5 mins. Possibly to do with debranding to stock wwe 2.3 ruu from Vodafone?

having the same issue, despite having wifi on never sleep
looking forward to getting rid of this phone once I get my htc desire z, HTC doesn't seem to care about it since the only recent OTA they released made it worse

Mobile data disconnects

Hi all,
I have noticed that my DHD seems to disconnect the data connection on a regular basis and I find myself having to go into settings, manually disconnect Mobile Internet and then reconnect and it works OK again... I am in a coverage area so not sure why this happens...
Any ideas?
Thanks.
Yh have the same problem here on t-mobile
Yeah noticed that on three uk

I experience this Problem since today or yesterday as well. Thought it has a reason in my tasked configuration (that worked fine for 4 weeks) but after reading that thread there may be another reason.
Hmm this happened to me today a few times on O2 never had problem before. Data connection just switched itself off even though plenty of juice in battery.
Sent from my HTC HD so may contain typos, bugs and, if the battery lasts, pearls of....(battery 0%)
I have had the same issue today, stopped the data. First thought it was a problem with provider vodafone. But after restart it was working again. Strange problem.

I'm just going to bump this....
And note that it seems to be data connection as well.

Hi. I have been facing the same problem. Has there been any resolution yet. I have come accross multiple threads with the same problem but no resolution yet..
Same problem i am with orange (UK) - only got the phone tuesday and the problem is intermittent. If phone has been in standby ro say 30 min then i turn on generally no data connection though the 'h' icon is present and the up arrow high lighted but down not. generally a restart helps, bt not always now sometime after fatory reset there is a problem with it dropping signal while in use. Have phoned orange first guy got me to set up a orange gprs wap APN that did nothing. lady i spoke with today very strongly suggested that as i am with 7 days of purchase to return it and void contract - she did not suggest getting replacement handset - this to me suggest that there is a general problem with handsets maybe be a bad batch (mine is chocolate) so i think i might take her advice and wait for the experia arc
The problem only seems to happen with hspda is ok with 3g areas

I had the same issue; connection would look active, 'upload' arrow lit but not 'download', had to manually disconnect Mobile Internet and reconnect to regain connection. This was happening on a daily basis (maybe every other day if I was lucky). No idea what the problem was, but I haven't noticed it again since flashing ARHD & new radio so I'm hoping that's solved it.
I was thinking flashing new radio might help - but given I still have the 7 day return option I am minded to return my phone and hold out for a xperia arc

Try turning off HSDPA (that means set this to Release 99)
Enter *#301279#, select "Change revision"
Remember to toggle airplane mode on/off after changing this.
Maybe your modem got stuck with some silly configuration.
Worth a shot.

Unexpected call drop

Hy guys, maybe I have a problem on my terminal: when I am in a phone call it happens that he cut off the conversation without pressing the end button (even if on speaker and phone on the table, nobody touching it).
It did twice of self reboot since I bought it ( some months) and no one since long time, so I don't think it's MB fault... At least I hope...

Developer unlocked (through registry), flashed firmware from Vodafone it to TIM then OPEN... (But I think doesn't matter the firmware), Already tried to reboot and battery pull....
One last thing, it happened, couple of times since I have it that he showed instead of signal bars a simbol with SIM and a logged signal, like "invalid SIM"... Went in offline mode than back online and back working, no restart required

Usually if 3g is on and you can't pick up 3g signam it keep cutting out, so if I'm not getting proper 3g signal I switch 3g off in the settings and everythings works ok.

I have the same problem, even after a reflash it drops calls, and sometimes has problems reconnecting. My operator is WIND, something tells me it's relevant... Awful signal and audio quality!
If its running in 3gmode and looses 3G signal--> call drops because the phone is registering in the network over GSM again

[VIBRANT] Lost GSM connections

Hi,
My Vibrant SGH-T959 on lastest ICS Passion has weird GSM connections. Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS still work fine but the GSM (phone) connection is really unstable.
Everything went smooth but suddenly the GSM connection started to drops very randomly, when I call, downloading, surfing web or doing nothing. I have to change to Airplane mode on and then turn the Airplane mode off and then the connection is back on and the whole procedure repeat all over again. I tried to wipe Dalvik cache in hope to restore but still didnt help too.
I guess the process controlling the GSM/3G connections is crashed or smt like that but I dont know how to log which process is responsible for this bug.
I use:
+ ICS Passion 13
+ Kernel Glitch 14 B5
+ Modem KB5
+ Advanced Memory Optimizer (I uninstalled it but it didnt make any difference)
+ Autostarts
Anyone can suggest me ideas to solve this problem? I dont want to reflash another ROM and/or wipe my data.
I had the same problem, I don't know what it was. It's probably a generic bug, I had it on froyo too.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-2
Did you solve it ?
All I can tell you is flash another room even if you mentioned that you don't want to do that. That's the easy way to find out if the issue is with the ROM or your network provider.

Try using a different kernal. I don't think glitch is supported for Passion.
