[Q] when will the kernel 3.0.8 be released? - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

As it says above

Uff, don't ask that... Op's and dev doesn't like it and it is a little rude.
Sent from my U8800 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-4

As with most things open source, it will be released when it is ready. Google Cyanogen rule # 1.

Hmmmm.... A noob question real quick:
Does this mean that we'll see stable custom clean ICS ROMs (meaning without TW and without the SPen) shortly or do we still need to wait for Samsung's official ICS release for drivers and stuff?
AOSP issues should be easier to resolve if nit completely fixed

Don't think it will be quicker
The kernel is not open source and the kernel is what controls the drivers so we will still be waiting for the galaxy note kernel source
However hopefully the note ics will be based on this build
Maybe this is what samsung was waiting for

The kernel IS open source, and the GPL compels them to release the source code. However this doesn't need to be until the upgrade is officially released, expected sometime in Q2

I think we can expect JellyBean builds by Epsylon3, he posted somewhere--
Eppy said Cm9 RC1 would be incoming for the defy on the cm9 thread

Link plz...give me the post's link...anyone?
And if we get ics officially from cyanogen...cm10 will be available for us..i just read that devices with official cm9 support will have cm10 as well. [Official cyanogen announcement ]

ibthink its still questionable that we will get official cm support, but id say that well definitely get jb (cm10) builds by eppy and quarx, since they managed to get cm9 working with full hwa, and afaik jb is not that different driver/sw wise. only uncertain thing is project butter, and that depends on whether its possible to port it via kernel modules.

It's not the real 3.0 kernel.
It is only a modded 2.6 kernel to looks like the 3.0 one.
And if it is the real kernel you must post the sources.XDA rules!
Psyke and erikcas did research on that and its fakr..."devs" of that kernel changed only number to 3.0 and built kernel..so dont be so naive.

They should close this thread
Fake 3.0 kernel, close this thread asap. This was just a modification of the makefile to show the 3.0. Not true!
Thanks, biel.

Oh. Didn't know that. Anyways, even if its a real 3.x kernel, I got it off another post for some ROM. In that case, if I'm unable to find that thread (the thread being my source) how exactly am I supposed to state the sources? After all, entire reason for this thread is that I couldn't find the other one.

It's not XDA rules, it's GPL rules.
Thread closed link removed because op is not the developer for the kernel and no source. Also appears it is not what was stated to be.

Build 140 is online.
Development section means if you made it, it goes here. If these were builds you compiled yourself, it'd be a different story. But this thread really shouldn't be here, sorry mate.

Is there a list of ported android devices?
Sent from my GT-P3100 using xda app-developers app
Let's say I have one of these daily build installed, how do I update it to the next one with multirom?
I mean, do I need to delete the current version that I have and install the new one or can I just dirty flash it?
Also, does anybody knows when a usable version of Ubuntu touch will be available.
Thanks.

MIUI V5 Has been released !! Find 5.

Out of Beta !!!
Also they have a "special install tool.
Mod Edit: Links removed: The MIUI kernel should not be linked to from xda, it is in violation of GPL and therefore violates xda rules.

Thanks mate. Is the install tool important? Or can we flash via recovery..
Also have they ironed out the smoothness issue?
Thanks bro!

You were probably unaware of this, but in general, discussion of official MIUI is generally not permitted here since MIUI are consistent GPL violators.
Unofficial MIUI ports that include kernel source in compliance with the GPL are OK, however, unless something has changed, all official MIUI releases violate the GPL.
