Hello everyone,
I've been trying to get a ICS rom on my phone.
I downloaded the ROM from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860
I used the guide from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1402975
where it uses clk?
The ROM post mentions having its own cLK and MAGLDR kerenls. Am I supposed to be installing them? I've been using the cLK from the HD2 Toolkit.
If so how do I do it?
I don't have another phone to put my SIM card in so people can't call me. I should have thought about that before I did this haha.
Thanks,
Tryo
First, depending on your cLK's version :
*Either repartition from within cLK (if using 1.5)
*Or repartition from the toolkit (if using 1.4)
After that, flash the rom as usual from within CWM.
Finally, the ROM uses MAGLDR Kernel by default. As a cLK user, you'd have to flash cLK kernel (found right below the ROM's link) after flashing the ROM immediately (BEFORE RESTARTING).
The ROM should boot up fine after a fair amount of time .
Hey have you this ?

@Marvlesz
I understand what to do until you mention
"As a cLK user, you'd have to flash cLK kernel (found right below the ROM's link) after flashing the ROM immediately (BEFORE RESTARTING)."
How do I flash a cLK kernel? The toolkit flashes a kernel by itself, how would I specify which one?
@MaxPayne3004
Yes I do get that screen.
After installing the rom from the SD card and rebooting it,
I get the image that's a black screen and says "Fastboot: Processing Commands"
(I wanted to post a picture but I need at least 8 posts =/ )
NVM got it working. The loading screen looks so epic.
As you said
s a cLK user, you'd have to flash cLK kernel (found right below the ROM's link) after flashing the ROM immediately (BEFORE RESTARTING).
did the trick!

Hi I just wonder if a dev could describe how HARET and MAGLDR fit within hardware abstraction model for android through a few questions!
1) for HARET would there be another layer at the bottom of this diagram such that some of the kernel's direct hardware access is remapped through WM drivers found in the WM ROM (as I keep hearing) or is it merely that the kernel has been reverse engineered and compiled for the platform in some Frankenstein way, and if so, how?

2) for MAGLDR and the purposes of HD2 NAND, does MAGLDR just bootstrap any working HD2 android kernel?
3) Does the DFT work involve modifying the code of one kernel (if so, which are they basing it on), or the code of MAGLDR?
4) Once MAGLDR / NAND is complete, will other devs be able to (easily) produce variant kernels?
5) Does anyone have any links or could provide even a basic ascii illustration of the type of system diagram as above for MAGLR and HARET?
Sorry for the many questions, and I'm sure many will be answered in other questions!
Many thanks in advance!
does anyone know where I might find out this info? (or is it a secret lol)
thanks
HaRET and MAGLDR aren't built in KERNEL. Basically they're doing the same thing.
HaRET runs on CE Kernel (WiMo and WinCE) and it is basically loading a kernel image (Image/zImage/bzImage) with/without a ramdisk (initrd), uncompressing it (if compressed) and then passing the execution to it simply jumping to its RAM address and without shutting down the WinCE kernel so HW is preinitialized (exceptions apart).
MAGLDR is a bootloader. It's executed direcly after the SPL and jumps to the address of the file to be executed (example: for linux it's Image/zImage/bzImage).
Hardware isn't preinitialized. WinCE isn't booted prior the MAGLDR execution.
Well, this is a really basic explaination of what they are.
Hello everyone.
Could someone please help me.
I have tried different ROM to do a clean install and the whole process is done without any problem at all steps tells me everything is fine but when it restarts to begin using the ROM says to me in red letters NAND kernel open failed
I cant think what to do, this is not my first flash ROM and had never had problems.

What ROM did you flash, and what partition size for CWM is installed on your phone?
It's possible you have flashed to too small a partition, can you please tell exactly what steps you took to get to where you are now?
huggs:
Thanks for your interest in my problem
I try installing these ROMs:
1) TyphooN CyanogenMod 7, Whit MAGLDR 150MB System/5MB Cache (ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.2.5)
2) BOYPPC-SHIFTPDA_GINGER_2.3., Recovery_150 for boyppc-shiftpda rom
download from the original thread for each rom
i think you didn't make the proper cwm partition. download http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783 hd2 nand tool kit. connect your phone to pc-choose usb flasher in mgldr menu, you must see usb flasher....usb. then open nand tool kit in pc-choose mgldr repartition-choose required partition size (say 150mb) if not present in list choose custom-in cache partition write 5-click repartition (at left bottom)- after finishing go ad recovery in mgldr-install zip from sd-choose zip from sd-find your rom in list. when installing is completed press back button-reboot
Thanks for your help, follow the exact steps by steps but still giving the same error, even resize the cache to 5mb as started in the original thread but still giving me the same error
if you write all the steps you take exactly we can help you more easily. but dont miss any of them

Make sure after you do those steps, to flash TYPHOON instead of BoyShift. Boyshift needs a bigger partition, but 150 is the correct size for Typhoon.
So here is the New Rom for your Huawei U8650.
The Rom was tested for 3 weeks and so far has no bugs, the rom is fast and stable, it's based on 2.3.5 Huawei rom, with OC kernel up to 780MHz, it also have app2sd.
I has 360 launcher added so thanks to the original uploader
I assume that everybody knows how to root and custom recovery the U8650 if not just search my other post.
Note: YOU FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK. I'M NOT RESPONSABLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR DEVICE.

How To Install:
1) Boot in recovery
2) Wipe data/cache/dalvik
3) Partition SD 128 Ext and 64 Swap (Partitioning SD erase data on SD, so BACKUP)

What recovery do you use???
Thanks for your response.
I'm a complete newbie.
I'm not sure, how do I find out ?
All I did was install the standard ROM by downloading it, copy it to the sd card and restarting whilst pressing Vol+, Vol- & the power button on my U8650.
Then I rooted it by restarting whilst holding down Vol+ & Power and then selecting the root.zip.
After that I tried the same with your zip !!
That's all I've done since I've had the phone.
OK, not so much of a newbie anymore.
Managed to install a CWM and then your ROM
Seems a bit slower. But it's beautiful.

Hi,
I had a similar problem.
Eventually, I figured out that I had to manually add the APN.
This is done in
Setting - Wireless & Networks - Mobile networks - Access Point Names
Hope this helps.
damn i knew it was about that..but idk how to set up an APN i'm kinda new to all this(tele2 croatia)
nvm i did it ty ery much
Hi,
I followed carefully all instructions for ROM installation from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2059651
All went fine until ROM installation. I have chosen rom (zip) file and pressed install.
You can see what happends here:

I re-dowloaned this rom again and it did not help.
I tried 3 more roms and always there is same situation.
PC says that Phone drivers are upto date.
There were NO errors in the meantime.
I have re-installed CWM but it did not help either.
Someone has any ideas about it?

If you see the photo with rom installation screen - it hangs on that screen. So i think it is not installing what also causes not booting
I tried first 3 from

So you have tried the latest ROMs,
after "opening package" written, you should be able to see "Installing..." with Title "Phonerty" on my ROMs. and at least it just takes 5 minutes.
If not shown, then the Zip must be corrupted while downloading or your SDCard can be unclean or damaged microSD, try to format your SDcard FAT32. or you can even Partition that will format your SDCard in the Recovery on your Phone!, go Advanced and partition, after completing that, you can copy your ROM zip files via USB at recovery Mount options.
after installing, you must Installation completed... then Manually restart your phone.
Have a nice try
Worked!
Dear iPlasm!
Many thanks - it works fine. Many thanks again!

hello, I require your help to operate my cell phone, I'll tell you step by step what I've done... [it is obvious that my native language is not English]
first, i installed TWRP following this tutorial https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/how-to/leeco-le-pro-3-root-t3476560
second, backup the complete system with twrp 3.1.1-0 (O.S. 5.8.0.20S Stable, android 6.0.1, Banggood international version). This left me a folder full of files which twrp does not recognize when I want to install that backup again.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
third, Install the ROM by following this tutorial https://forum.xda-developers.com/le...ent--and-mods/stock-eui-5-8-20s-x722-t3680624 Something seems strange to me that when I run the .bat, the phone reboots in a couple of seconds and the only change I see is that it installs the original recovery, since everything else stays the same, even the system version (EUI version: 5.8.001D (Dev))
Finally install S.U. official (all correct), and OpenGApps, use the Stock and Nano (ARM64, Android 6.0) versions, and both show error when starting the system,
does not allow me to do anything (attached image).
So here I am, with a new cellphone, without being able to restore the copy made with twrp, using a EUI developer version, and without being able to install the Gapps.
---I would greatly appreciate your help---
I have just solved my problem, since after installing my TWRP backup (which I was taught a little recently), It could not start because asked for a false password, then, without deleting anything, i installed from fastboot the ROM X722-5.8.020S-by-Batyan, that is here in xda, and arranged.

Great news. You don't need to do anything. You've done your part. :good: Just leave it up for people in the future to look at and learn from.
