2.11.3 by GENO

So far this is bazed on dzo's aurora not official miui rom...so we have the known bugs..but everything work pretty normal..wifi,bt you can check them...i found only one bug that after you turn on the flashligh the phone has an soft restart...showing the bootlogo and booting again...not hard restart closes the phone and restarts...cam still can take zoomed pics...UI looks amazing..i haven't done too much of testing but feel free...i just have to remind that still this is not a everyday rom needs work..and without the 3.0 kernel its pretty useless for every day use!

This ROM is for the U8800 and not for u8800pro.
Here is the u8800pro:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/genoandroid/files/u8800pro_MIUIv4.zip/download

Are you sure this miui is ics based build? Other forums tell 2.3.23 is GB not ICS. Post sreens with android version please

new MIUI roms has really strange localizations, for Exaple Russian and English are mixed up with Chinese. The devs would be better to make only Chinese and English, not all the official semi localizations

emm.. in russia we have a Kojan Development Group, the guys who translate every MIUI rom and modify them. So since 8800Pro isn't very popular model, and many of phones like it, they released special software, which perfectly translated all GB MIUI roms. But when we translate v4 with this tool, phone loops after flashing

Is B137 more improved than B136 and B160?

I am not sure to ask here, but I will do it as I know no other place to ask a ROM question.
As title stated, is it or is it not?
Also where can I get it, been hearing there is a improved version of B137, where can I find it?
Thanks in advance !
You can find it here:

It is Android 2.2.2 so should have a few more bug fixes
Let us know how you get on!

Yup, it was made. But it was horrible, had fresh B137 installed, installed the .zip on top of it. After that everything was FC'ing and what not. Dont know if it has been updated since then, but it didn't seem stable at all.

Google is possibly translating it sort-of correctly. I remember translating one goapk thread and it was talking about the shoes of the rom. I live in China and learning Chinese. Words can have multiple meanings, especially when when used with different dialects and different fields(i.e. computers and technology). Also there is a lot of stuff that is really difficult to translate exactly from Chinese to English. Just bare with the translations and try to make sense of it.
On a side note:
Geno released a B136+B160 V7 rom, and then a B137 V7 rom, both are Android 2.2. If my translation was correct, the difference between them is very little. Am I correct on this? I'm getting ready to install the B136+B160 tomorrow and want to know if I should use the B137 instead.

There is only one B137 V7 ROM, the B136+B160 V7 is an upgrade package if you are using a previous version of his ROM, not a full ROM.

By Chinese you mean mandarin ?
Well judging by the specs i wouldnt bother installing it unless there was some problem i hoped it would fix.
(As for google translate... If you think it sort-of translates you haven't seen the greek translation )
Android 2.2.2 fixes a bug with the sms routing that causes messages to be sent to the wrong person. I never personally experienced the problem, but I'm going to upgrade just to make sure I never experience it.
I've been using B137 for a while, no noticeable improvement, battery seems last longer, maybe I just get bored of my phone

Hello and happy new year!!
Starting a new thread for MIUI u8800 with the 2.6.35 kernel branch to avoid confusion with the old branch.
I am not responsible for any damage what-so-ever done to your phone, as with any ROM, you accept this risk.
Visit the project homepage here!
Installation Instructions
First of all you need to upgrade to official 2.3.5 release from Huawei.
Get the official upgrade from here and follow the installation instructions inside the zip.
Afterwards follow this nice guide on how to root and install CWM recovery on your phone. (thanks to That-Guy)
Recommended recovery is this (thanks to Blefish)
If you came from another rom wipe Data/Cache/DavlikVM.
If you are upgrading wipe Cache/DavlikVM.
Apply the zip package as usual through CWM!
Njoy!
Thanks
First of all thanks to all the developers supporting this device.
Thanks to Blefish, Darksage07, dzo, genokolar, ksatta, stockwell and anyone else i might forget.
Special thanks to genokolar and dzo for providing the kernel.
Thanks to the Desire Z MIUI port community as without it there wouldn't be this port too.
Thanks to MIUI-XJ for the translations.
Anyone else i forget.

FAQ
Some translations are not good either missing stuff can you fix it?
No. I don't do the translations neither intend too. I just implement them.
When will you release the next update?
Will try to bring the next beta every Sunday nothing is for sure though and it depends on my free time.
I have an issue that i think it's a bug how can i report this?
State the version you are using, explain it thoroughly providing information on when it occurs and under what circumstances, use proper English, use common sense, have patience.

Tweaked a bit cpu voltages according to the old vdd levels franco used. Should get a bit more of battery life in frequencies under 1024 and more stability over it.
Added a couple of new governors to have fun to (lagfree, lazy, interactivex, minmax, scary, smoothass).
Fixed native wifi tethering.
In call volume/quality is better but there is still some noise in low volume.

Official Changelog
u8800 changelog v2
Fixed torch and superuser issue.
You'll have to use MoreLocale 2 to switch to another language now. Old framework was causing me issues so will stick to the unmodified one.
Some really nice transitions added!
Using desire-z framework instead of miui-au should now be more stable and with better battery life.
Removed extended settings mod / app drawer. Check the miui android forums if you want to install them by your own from now on. Only mod i will continue implement is the t9 dialer mod.
Maxthon as default browser.
u8800 changelog
Initial release with the new kernel branch 2.6.35.
Can now mount both internal and external sdcard with no problems.
The usual stuff from MIUI-AU and MIUI-XJ.
Some changes reverted in build.prop that actually caused worst performance instead of better.
Cleaned up init.d scripts.
you didnt get any glicht or freezes o the screen, because this is my major problem on the gingerbread rom from huawei.
Looking nice. So only difference to other is kernel?

I agree with ooie. Who cares about the attitude or whatever... The FAQs are there because people don´t like to read much and don´t care about searching for the information.
We care about the work and I´m grateful. I´m still using "his" Froyo based MIUI and in a few days I will try this one.

I guess you are referring to the FAQ. Many of the things i'm writing are mostly with a humorous attitude so please don't hate me
Anyway the major issues so far is the random reboots and battery life and that's where i'm focused now. If you can't stand them for the time being or don't want to test please don't install this one and use the one with the 2.6.32 kernel that is stable.

MIUI V4 for U8800 by Geno

Bug: known bugs in both Aurora and MIUI.
Download here:http://www.mediafire.com/?71jnwadwuqqr82v (This is full 2.5.25 version package. Thanks to elexogic.)
Wipe everything before install.
Thanks to both Dzo and Geno.
This ROM is not stable. Taste it if you are crazy for MIUI.
Wow, great news... and kudus to the CyanogenMod team for the effort of reaching the CM port developers.
We have some good CM ports and Blefish is already working on a 3 kernel to port CM9, so this could really work.
No news from either side, regarding the CM/u8800 devs relations?
Blefish, ezet or any other dev that's trying to build an unofficial CM release??
^_^
good work!
hi for all,
i think geno show open a thread in Ideos X5 U8800 Android Development for his room.
with a changelog whats working and not working a lot of people like miui.
it will be good

Is this stable?
I guess not. If it would be stable it would be writen and since this is fresh release it is probably prerelease version or RC.
Edit: works realy good.

Miui 6 the wait is over lol
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/miui-6-oneplus-one-wait-t3095559
Its the same download link and it's still based on 4.4.4 kikat. The official miui7 is based on lollipop.
Mine is still Kitkat on MIUI 7, though.

Like I said, they can call miui8 or or anything they like, it's basically a miui6.

So, you think, it makes no sense at all to upgrade? What ROM are you using?

Nothing wrong with upgrade if you like it. I just want to clear some confusing. For example, the ROM based on cm11 (kitkat) and they throw in some features and wallpapers from lollipop and call it a cm12 ROM. In fact, its still cm11 ROM. You get an idea. I'm using cos12.1 now. I try miui but don't like it.

If that's what you think, then you're mistaken. MIUI is nothing more than a skin, it doesn't have a separate base. For example, MIUI 5 was on JB 4.2.2 for the Redmi Note, 4.3 for the Redmi 1S, KK 4.4.2 for Cancro(Mi3 and Mi4: they both share same ROMs). Xiaomi basically just sticks their skin on any android version they can compile easily for that particular device.
The official MIUI 7 for the flagship Mi devices (Cancro) is also on KitKat 4.4.4. So yes, this is genuine MIUI 7 (although everyone agrees that MIUI 7 is nothing but a new theme and new wallpapers; trust me I had a Mi3 before this, and my old friends are all up in arms about the disappointment that is MIUI 7)
And as for the link being the same, that's cuz its the official MIUI download page. And if you look carefully, you can see it says MIUI version 7.
As for whether its worth updating, I'd say screw MIUI, we're WAY past KitKat. Xiaomi can go to hell (coming from an ex-Xiaomi user) unless they provide proper updates.

multirom kenzo build 6.11.3 MIUI 8

Take a breath for a moment and read this quote good ....
a little review about multirom kenzo. This rom is fairly smooth and uneventful with no bugs, and also the battery is very durable, weaknesses just slow in updating the latest build still it was not a problem because I think developers are very careful in drafting its version. just give me your download link and then flash as usual through twrp. if there are questions and reviews from other users please give comments. Do not forget to be happy ... LOL .....

I use miui based ROM from xiaomi.eu and it is pretty stable for me. Not sure about any differences between this one (multiROM) and that one (xiaomi.eu). At least we have the safest way to flash miui stock based ROM on twrp recovery without any issues.

whats the difference between miui and this rom?
Hello friends!
Multirom is unique Russian project which main focus is quality and stability.
Main goal of this project - Their new translation system and patching firmware "B.A.R.S."/Methic
They do not use jBart! (combine that uses apktool and smali/baksmali which used by others/xiaomi.eu etc). Mainly because of this, the quality is much higher than others analog firmware. Apktool hopelessly outdated and it's time to the dustbin of history. They used about 40 patches to make firmware great. In addition to well-known patches and patch T9 paid to those present:
Patch Anti-spam, calendar (Russian and Ukrainian holidays), camera, wedge-master, e-mail, gallery, a compass, a framework, Mui keyguard, framework, weather, SMS, yellow pages, security center, videos, contacts, and so on. In general, patches adapted typical Chinese setting and services to European. They do not include third-party firmware hacked software. Only Open-Source. All apk during the translation are subject to optimization. The greater the amount of free RAM - a side effect of the procedure
The lastest (6.12.1) firmware for kenzo you can downoad here
