I kinda like XScope. You can easily theme it. And it isn't too boring.
I would try the free version first. The Pro version is a little funky on ICS. Ran great on Honeycomb...

It doesn't look optimized for tabs

I think Opera works best
Been using Google Chrome Beta on mine, pretty impressed with it.
Have since installed it on my GS2
Take Opera Mobile
Chrome Beta is nice but for me i miss the flash support...
IMHO nothing works better on a tab than ICS browser+...... why didn't you like it?
I've been using Opera, has been the best for me, after trying stock, firefox, dolphin.
I use Chrome beta, just for the fact that I can sync my bookmarks. I'd probably still be using stock if it worked there. I used to use Dolphin's Pad beta but once Chrome came out, it was an obvious choice.
The stock browser is pretty fast in 4.0.4 on my Galaxy Nexus, so when I get that on my A500 I'll try it out and see how it goes.
Overskreen. Allows you to have a tab open above an app.

+1 on this, ICS Browser + rocks! In fact, I just reviewed it on tablified.com, here's the link: http://www.tablified.com/reviews/ics-browser-simply-amazing/
I can't try Chrome because I live outside of the US, I know I can probably just find the apk somewhere, but ICS Browser+ is already enough for my needs and right now, I'd rather have flash support than not, although that might change soon...
Used to use Dolphin but it felt really clunky to me, and well, the stock browser on both HC and ICS never really cut it for me.

browser
I think Boat browser is the best for me so far.
I liked Dolphin Tablet but it started to crash and it didn't seem as if they were releasing updates for it much. I went to Chrome. It was ok. I am now using Dolphin HD. Its amazing and I have no problems so far. Very stable. It also has soo many plugins. I suggest Dolphin HD.
boat browser update
Just did a boat browser update yesterday and it is now very laggy, wish I could un update the update.
I had trouble with the default browser downloading files. Sometimes it would just hang, other times I'd get blank files. And it just seemed sluggish to me. This was, admittedly, while running a stock Acer rom, though.
I played around with Chrome when it hit, but I ran into some problems with SwiftKey, and even now on a custom ROM, it gives me blank white pages with no content far to often to not annoy me.
I also kicked around Dolphin some. It just never satisfied me.
I finally happened by Aurora - Firefox's alpha channel - and I am more than pleased with it. It's yet to crash on me, it has the must-have addons - like AdBlock - available, as well as UserAgent changers - as I prefer desktop sites only. It's fast, and it's been optimized for a tablet layout. I've been running it exclusively since discovering it and I haven't had a single moment where I debated going back to Browser.
Hi I have been using the Maxthon HD browser with the RE-FLEXxx Rom and find it works better for me than the others (I tried all of them)

Works VERY WELL! I have lived by miren browser... this blows miren out of the water... very snappy to load pages! My new favorite browser! Now they just need to make it work on something other than ics and it'll be the only browser I need!

I agree, its pretty snappy and it feels like it should have been there all along.
I like it very much.
I just downloaded it and I really like it so far. The tab system is really smooth and good looking and there are a bunch of nice optimizations (like the magnification bubble that pops up when clicking on small links, like page numbers on a thread). The desktop bookmarks is SUPER laggy though, it takes a good 15-20 seconds for it to load and let you click on something.
Been using this on my PC's for years and I love it on my phone. Fastest browser yet! I just hope they come out with a dark version. Previously I used the dark dolphin mini and blacked out miren, chrome is soooo bright!

How often do people go to Kongregate on their phones through the browser to play games? There's enough apps with similar games, and you will still have the stock browser with flash if you really need it. I find that I barely use it in the browser. The Chrome browser is really well put together and will only get better!
HTML5 is just about ready to bust out; youtube has a whole branch for it. I am thinking really soon HTML5 will get the big push. (in that non-computer geeks will know it exists)
i agree flash is out dated but alot of sites still use it. thought it deserve a mention for people like me that dont want to have multiple apps for one purpose cluttering their phones. chrome beta is a great browser but until flash is completly gone it wont work for me. just my prefrence.
Running this on CM9-alpha1 and loving it! Tab management is the best I have seen to date, very clean. Also, syncing bookmarks and history is a huge plus. I type "f" in the address bar and it auto-suggests straight to the Epic 4G Android Dev page on XDA, just like it does on my laptop and desktop.

Irrelevant. It is a browser's job to show me web pages. If there's an old page with useless flash content, it is the responsibility of the browser to render it.
Regardless, I downloaded this earlier and wonder why it hasn't been part of Android all along, or why it wasn't just an update to the stock browser. Google now has two very similar mobile browsers for Android.
Since ICS update to Transformer 720p flash is completely unwatchable on my Asus Transformer.
After googling a bit I found a bug report in Adobes public bug db with a confirmed problem, GPU acceleration is not enabled.

However, Adobe isn't planning on fixing it because of lack of time.

HTML5 is not a solution yet. Flash is critical for things like twitch.tv. Nothing bugs me more than apologetics trying to dismiss the lack of Flash because "HTML5 is the future", this is the same thing Apple users have done for years while Android users have mocked them.

Couldn't agree more! I use my tf for a bit of stream browsing on twitch.tv and it bugs me as hell that while everything was fine and dandy under HC it is now crap.
I can confirm that windowed mode works after dolphin's upgrade yesterday but fullscren is still not there. It's like it opens on a "ghost" window somewhere and you can't focus on it to bring it to the front.
Finally can others please try opera to see if this resolves the issues? (Their latest changelog speaks specifically about adding flash functionality for 4.x devices)
I am the proud owner of a new Nexus 10, and I thought I would carry out some browser benchmarks to see which browser worked best as the earlier bechmarks using Chrome were a little dissapointing...
The bechmarks are lower is better with the exception of V8
Sunspider, V8(higher is better), Kraken
Chrome (stock) 1365ms, 3023, 11222
QQ Browser 881ms, 4032, 10087
Boat Browser 886ms, 3614, 10213
By comparison here are the Iphone 5 benchmarks
Safari 908ms, 1553, 19618
As you can see - this thing really flies and is the fastest android device i've ever used
What about dolphin browser with the jet pack addon, I'd imagine that would do quite well score wise.

I've tested both Firefox and Ocean in Sun spider.
Ocean got 780ms and Firefox got just over 1000ms.
Ocean also is as smooth as the iPad in scrolling/zooming, while Firefox was a bit more studdery in my experience.

I used Boat quite a bit, and while it impresses in Sunspider I honestly don't think it can compare to Ocean (or even Dolphin + Jetpack) as far as smoothness of scrolling/zooming goes.

Well, I've tried them both out, and actually I've gone with the recent update to Dolphin Beta 1.2 for JB. It runs -Very- smoothly and much better than Chrome(which is pretty easy right now). It doesn't load pages quite as fast, but it's close.
I've never been a huge fan of Boat (I dislike the bottom navigation bar that you can't remove).
Ocean is very quick on not so media heavy sites, but I hate how much screen you lose to the address bar and tabs.
I also had a lot of screen tearing and rendering issues with Boat and Ocean.
I frequent Roosterteeth.com and both ocean and Boat would just bog down, give up and render nothing but a tiny sort of grid like static.
So for me my daily driver is going to be Dolphin Beta for now. If I need Flash, Firefox is my pick for that. It's a clunky interface and a little buggy but handles Flash nicely when it has the system resources the Nexus 10 can provide. I also didn't experience any of the rendering issues Boat and Ocean had while using Firefox.
So I've got to trade some performance for compatibility. That's my take anyway.
Also, the Nexus 10 is Awesome.
So, is jet-pack a plug in or stand alone browser? I've downloaded Dolphin, Dolphin beta, and Jet pack. They all show up separately in my apps.

If you enable the quick controls the interface disappears. It's very similar to the AOSP browser except a different layout on the controls.

Jetpack is a custom back-end renderer for Dolphin as opposed to just being a shell interface for the stock renderer. You can think of it like a plug-in but it's more than that.

Dolphin browser is one of the minimal theme browser which has become a favorite. Its gesture based web surfing makes browsing fast and easy. Make gestures and the browser understands which page to render. It also has voice based web searching feature. Some of the important features which makes this browser different from the rest are: Webzine (Fast Web page loading, with no ads), Speed dial, sidebars and interesting add-ons.

I have the same experience. Both the stock browser and chrome take approx. the same time to "start up" (aka show some parts of the interface), but with chrome it takes some seconds until it actually starts loading a website (before, it takes some time until it shows the number of tabs, maybe it is related?)

I used to have the same problem on stock rom with Chrome lastest version. Best thing for me at that moment was to use the old Chrome version included on my JB update. Also disabling Chrome history and desktop syncro really helped. Those two simply steps get Chrome considerable faster; the price was less security less funcionality.
Still, i agree the app totally sucks. Now i'm using Omar's ROM and last Chrome stable and waiting those 4-5 seconds. Could be worse, like in stock rom.
My Razr i really sucks there. Browsing on Chrome is a nightmare. Also stock browser is laggy. I regret swapping my Nexus 4 with Razr i for my daughter. I don't want to mess up with roms and old version of Chrome. I miss simplicity and reliability of Nexus. Razr is my last phone from Motorola.
People should be aware that there is a reason why Boat Browser, Dolphin and all the other "best replacements" are free. Even Chrome is not recommendable. Same situation here, Chrome takes too much to load, I use the "stock browser" all the time because It takes forever to load for Chrome!
Regards.
Dolphin browser with dolphin jetpack installed is the fastest browser I have tried. Chrome beta was great too, but it force closed too often
