So, what's your favorite browser?
Wow, do you actually use all of those browsers?
LOL. Best thread ever!

I found this while searching on google. I take no credit for this, but am posting it here so that you can use it too.
Basically it enables airplane mode and disables it at boot. It doesn't add any time to boot, because it coincides with the Media Scanning.
All you do is install it and forget about it.
Anyway, heres the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=938677
Ignore that it says 2.1 only... Works just fine on my ROM.

Thanks.

I actually had this installed for a couple weeks now. Phone boots and then goes into airplane mode. I did love the one time where my phone booted up, I got a phone call right and forgot about the airplane mode and it kicked me off the call!
It won't download to my phone and I'm stuck at work. Can anybody upload it here or post a drop box link for me? Thanks!
Edit: Forgot I can use Astro for the download.
Mike, what do you think of this explanation and fix? It is interesting to read there why this happens, if nothing else. I look forward to your ROM fix tonight!
I actually have 2 tasker events setup that takes care of this nearly transparently. On device shutdown tasker sets airplane mode and clears it on boot.
I just have to do it manually if I get some kind of random reboot or sleep/charge death.

It might be a problem if you turn off GSM on an at&t phone.

ok and what is your percentage ?
I only realized this was an issue sometime last week and when I checked it was 50%.
Toggle airplane mode and within 10 mins it dropped to 38% and then went down to 17% a few hours later. But since then everytime I unplug or reboot I toggle airplane mode and most days it's at 0% ~ 5%

If I catch it right away it will go down to 0 by days end. If not and I catch it later it varies.
thanks for the link! i'm just curious though, is there any reason why this signal bug hasn't been addressed at the ROM level? from my brief searching it seems like it occurs on most devices.

I think including the apk in future ROMs seems a definite possibility as this fix released very recently.
Looks like the tablet I was given at I/O has a faulty GPS radio. Any other people from I/O know if there is any way to have that fixed/replaced now that the conference is over? Thanks.

Mine works fine. Can you describe the problem in more detail?
Apps that use the GPS, like Maps, cannot get a location.

Mine works fine. I've used it many times, and it always works.
Im very happy for you.
I found that mine from time to time has mysteriously unchecked its own use GPS box in the settings menu. This seems to have happened after I setup Exchange and once or twice since then. It looks to be another software oddity in the device.
Other than that i find it gets better GPS better than my SGT7 and EVO.
Im sure that the problem Im seeing isn't across the board. It just flat out doesn't work. Any app needing a location just hangs saying "waiting for location".

I do. It just sits there saying: "Searching for GPS". Damn shame really, everything else about the device works perfectly.
Im currently on cm 7 nightly 166. I've tried Generation X v6.3 and cm7.1 rc1 and still there are problems with the gps locking on, and even if it does lock on its off by about 40 feet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Gps status from the market is your best option... Dl it hit the menu button, select tools, select manage a-gps state, select download.... Let it do its thing and keep the dot in the circle...
what do you mean keep the dot in the circle? IS that to calibrate it ?

That's the bubble level ("pitch and roll" in the Tools, bubble in the Settings). Wow, I had no idea it had so many settings.
I'm shocked it doesn't have furlongs per fortnight as a choice for speed display
Thought it might be a good idea for all the know early faults to be in one place like the camera zoom fault in video mode etc.
Few guys including me are having issues when using bluetooth. I.e. paired to in car bluetooth. It seems caller cant hear me even thou i can hear them clearly.
Another thing when bluetooth is connected even though you have the loudspeaker option on the phone when pressed it doesnt work. Surely this should be disabled option when connected to bluetooth if it doesnt work anyways?

Could it be related to bt4.0 ?
It could be to do with that. We will have to wait and see when more people connect theres up to there car. Baring in mind the vehicle is fairly new as its a 61 plate merc sprinter 313
Taken from my post at Reddit. Not just faults but also some annoyances.
After 3 days of testing I have a few things that bother me:
When adding any app as a accessibility service (e.g. Lightflow), the Touchwiz Launcher will start telling you where you are right now, e.g. "Homescreen 3 of 5", "Opening folder". Can be fixed by using Apex or removing the app as an accessibility service.
Waking up the phone isn't always instant.
No USB storage mode, only MTP or PTP. You can't use the phone while transferring files.
Boot animations use Samsung's proprietary QMG format --> no custom boot animations for now
While you're in a call, sometimes you can't use your mobile data connection. Wifi works though.
Attaching headset/earphones shows various audio applications that can be launched in the notification area. These apps cannot be customized.
The accuweather widget has a maximum refresh time of one hour. Setting it to anything less than that is not possible. Also, it doesn't always update the current location.

Nothing serious as it seems.
.... and that Accessibility bug has been around a lot longer than the SGS3 - so a fix maybe has to come from Google?

I'd say the non instantaneous lockscreen would be annoying, and MTP would be a real disadvantage. The S3 doesn't allow you to use your phone while in MTP.
I have a Purple tint in the middle the screen . Do you think it Can disappear with an update

That's a known problem with ICS, had it on my Galaxy Nexus too!
Can anyone tell me what the speaker volume is like on the S3?
Also having bluetooth issues. Paired my s3 to a 2 year old toyota RAV4 and the pairing work ok, however poeple can't hear me at all. Got to work this morning and paired with a new Hyundai ix35 and all work ok. Have got my RAV 4 booked in a toyota next week to see if theres a software upgrade for the stereo. I hope this can be rectified...
I'm assuming this is for the red tint? But at 141mb, there's got to be more than that. Anyone else got this?
Got it too, think it's the update to allow for the screen color fix
Installing it now
Same
I got it too. I am on T-Mobile
Yeh
On Verizon, just checked and nothing for myself.
I got it. Never had any screen problems. Still don't

In the "Screen Mode" options you have to check "Advance Options", scroll down and you'll see the color balance. Kinda weird they did it this way.

Are all these updates worth doing before we know anything about rooting the device etc? Like would any of these updates hurt us on any possibly future exploits to patch something up and unlock? I havent updated my device since I got it.
Anyone using package disabler. Remember to enable all disable software. Cause if nlt. U might end up in bootloop after the update and the only solution would.be a hard reset.
Heard this update is causing battery life changes :-/
I got the red tint update this morning on my S8. Installed it and for me it made no difference in the range of adjustment for totally getting rid of the red tint issue. The edge red tint on mine is always there. So for my S8, no difference. slower Wi-Fi file transfer speed that I've mentioned in my various other postings is not improved either. Still the same. Oh well.
Got it 5 days ago in Qatar.
Just color settings. (including edge only color control)

Actually I think I know why they did: so people don't go to the menu, mess things up and then complain screen doesn't look right.
I think it's only a T-mobile issue OR it's only been released on T-mobile phones at this time

How could that possibly be declared just hours after the update has started to roll out? "Well my battery went down 3% instead of 2% in the span of two hours so this update must effect battery. Oh noes!"
