The Double Shot Camera Was Ported, I Think By: Virtuous Team
I know We Have Kernels And AOSP Camera. But Can Any of the Camera Libs Be used or Modified from the DoubleShot(myTouch 4G Slide) to work with the Glacier(myTouch 4G).
Example: Pyr-o-Ice's rom with working camera.
I'm sure its being worked on. We have a partially working AOSP camera that has to be patched and rigged to work with Sense framework. Patience.
i know that much, what i was asking is if the double shot is just a upgraded version of glacier could the inspection of its files aid in the repair of the camera

Big rom... This is not going to be good for sd card space, I am running out of room on my 8GB card with my eris, and the roms are no larger than 150mb. How soon after release do you think we will see root?

anyway you could do me a favor and post up just the deodex'd camera .apk? im running a newer version of sense on my evo and the camera app was only built for back facing cameras, where the thunderbolt has two cameras also

Has anyone tried the "CameraICS+" android market app on the ICS ASOP rom while we wait for the camera fix on v7.1?
If the stock ICS Camera won't work, why would a third party app work? That doesn't make sense! So I'm guessing it won't work. Just be patient for the camera fix! I just tried this on HoneySmartDroid and it worked, but it's GB. The front camera doesn't even work..it's sideways

in all seriousness, could the G2/DZ or Desire S camera libs and so's be used, given that the camera hardware is somewhat similar (granted we have a FFC to contend with)? I mean the Virtuous Quattro RC has a working camera (at least for DHD)...
Ive been playing around with febycv's port of VQ beta and the VQ RC for vision, but honestly I'm not the greatest..

i'm sorry sir, but "somewhat similar" doesn't cut it.. their cameras are still different, they still have different hardware from us.

So I've recently flashed Zips ICS rom and noticed the camera doesn't take clear pictures. I've messed around with the setting and still not clarity. CM7 camera took amazing pictures. Does anyone know of a good camera app that can help me out?

due to the lack of current drivers needed to have a properly working camera the only thing you can do is downgrade to a Gb OS to get good camera.
Right not the developers don't have the needed files to make the software talk to the hardware correctly. IT does have decent picture but not 110% correct.

If you going back to gb, that LeeDroid is very good, I been running it for over a week. I haven't had any problems at all.

i am on PARANOIDANDROID ACE Rom and guess what the camcorder is working good
in 480P resolution .. give it a try really good
it's better than videocam illusion

I tried the ROM a few days back and in video mode it just beeped when I pressed the red recording circle and nothing happened.
Edit: I didn't change it to 480p. I'll have to try again.

yes if you are on 720P but try the 480P .. it will work

can this work for Sense Rom too? some people like me do not use any Rom for HTC mobiles than the Sense Rom's cuz Sense is the recognition of HTC. if not we can buy any other android mobile.

there will not be camera or video capabilities until HTC decides to release the desire hd 3.0 kernel. So that means no sense roms for dhd will have camera until then.
come on HTC.......give us this f......g kernel 3.0......

It's based off of Existz AOSPX. And it is possible if someone is willing to try it.

As far as I know they are building their ROMs the same way or LC is implementING changes in his Rom. But as stated before... its very strange that camera works on this ROM....

I was wondering if there are any full sense 3.6 Roms that have everything working including camera. Tried searching but didn't really come up with anything.
I really blackout but it has no camera. It's the only thing holding me back from that Rom.

I believe the OP looked at Desire S section...
Unlike Desire S, which has leaked official Sense 3.6 with proper kernel, MT4G doesn't have any official leak - because there will be no official ICS. So while Desire S can enjoy the proper kernel that supports everything without waiting for its sources to become available, MT4G has to wait.
You need full functionality? Stay on GB. I stayed. Next time, try searching before posting, as estallings15 suggested.

So this my be a really stupid question, but ics has full functionality on the aosp and aokp rooms do they not use kernal 3? Could someone just use that kernal? I'm not trying to say our devs aren't the best around , just trying to understand the difference.

We don't have kernel 3. The Desire S does, but it's a different phone and won't work on the Glacier. And AOSP/AOKP is fully functional because the developers kept working on the fixes, as so are the developers doing the same for the camera and every other Sense 3.6/4.0 bug.

Yeah. Our aosp/aokp roms are the work of lots of butchering, they don't use a 3.0 kernel just lots patches and [email protected] trust me. If it were that easy, someone would have done it by now; besides aosp kernels don't work on sense

Which is AOSP. We just went over this. A working AOSP camera does not a working Sense camera make.
Hopefully elginsk8r can put the finishing touches on his kernel soon. Mix that with the DHD ICS source, whenever that happens, and we'll be in business.
