Does it have to be the original keyboard? I think HACKER'S KEYBOARD has the numbers on top, at least in landscape.

For those of you lucky enough to have a Nexus 4, please could you let me know:
Is emoji built in out of the box?
Is the emoji support system wide - can it be seen and used in mms, google talk, email, browser?
Thanks!

The emoji is built-in as a separate keyboard, you just have to enable it and then switch input methods when you want to use them.

Thanks, presumably that means I'll be able to see and use it system wide then.
Anyone able to post a few screenshots of the emoji keyboard?

Are they all in the b&w as shown?
Google haven't copied the same as Apple implement on iOS?
How do these look on your phone? ?????
Coming from an iPhone, I'm quite spoiled on emoji. I also used BiteSMS which was such a lifesaver of an application. Saving a few seconds to reply/compose really does matter.
ChompSMS is the exact same thing by the same developers for Android, and they have an emoji keyboard identical to what is offered in iOS6.
How would I enable this??

In AOKP it's actually in the default SMS app. You enable it from there.
This is how the emojis look from the SMS app with CM10. Don't see an insert emojis option when using the XDA app but I am able to see the emojis people posted in this thread.
