[Q] Trouble with CM7 and Status Bar Sound Control - Kindle Fire General

Hey there guys. First post, so please be patient with a noob.
I just recently went and rooted my Fire, as well ad flashed it to the CM7 barebones ROM. Having a little issue controlling the volume from the status bar. While the volume control app's overlay works for adjusting the volume, the status bar volume control doesn't seem to have any effect when clicking on the sound Icon. Long pressing on the sound Icon leads to the CM7 sound settings, but clicking on the Icon and setting it to mute has no effect.
When I went to prep my Kindle for flashing, I had installed the Android SDK files for 4.0.3, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. Any assistance is welcomed.

[Q] No notification bar but soft buttons present

I'm using CM 7.0.3 from sdcard.
The title says it all I guess:
Initially I just wanted the notification bar gone. So I deactivated it. But that left me without the soft buttons. I then set "volume down" to trigger the soft buttons, but that doesn't work reliably.
So this is my question: How can I permanently show the softbuttons but not the notification bar.
Alternative: How can I make the notification bar transparent? Should be simple enough, but all I can find are full blown themes or mods for other versions (froyo) or devices...

[Q] power bar / notification bar

Hi, I finally got around to dumping wm6.5 and installing android CM7_HoneyComB_V57 on my HD2; Its BRILLIANT should have done it ages ago! The only thing I have found is the power settings on the notification bar don’t have a data toggle. I’ve solved my problem for now by using a 'power bar' widget but id like to know if there is a way to get a data button on the original power settings OR if not is there a way to just remove that power bar totally. It seems daft to have both.

In CM7 you can customise what toggles show up, the order, and more. In the settings application, click on the CM tab the navigate to statusbar tweaks and look for power menu toggles there are a whole bunch of options to customize to your liking.
nice work mate

[Q] Just upgraded to CM9 ICS.....

.... and I have some questions that someone can hopefully answer. I've searched thru the Nook Color forums but couldn't find anything relevant.
First: Installation to EMMC on my Nook Color was flawless and all my apps installed and ran without problem.
This CM9 release is AWESOME! Everything looks and works great!!! Its so nice to have all the icons look great without having to screw with LCD density.
Questions: First question really important... other two just annoyances.
1) Full Screen Apps: I have Auto Hide checked under System>Combined Bar. Yet the status bar will not go away when running full screen apps such as Angry Birds, PowerAmp, and Repligo Reader. Is there another setting somewhere for this???? Or is this something that's broken and waiting to be fixed????
2) Soft Buttons in the status bar: There are three buttons showing: Back, Home & Recent Apps. The Home button is redundant as the Nook button does that. The Recent Apps button is totally useless for me and I would like to change it to a Menu button. But I can't find any settings for the Soft Buttons like there was in CM7 under the CyanogenMod settings.
3) Power Control Widget: I was able to turn buttons off and on in settings for the Power Control Widget in CM7. That appears not to be the case in CM9.... I only need and want the WiFi and Brightness buttons. How do I select Power Control Buttons in CM9?????
Running CyanogenMod version 9-20120703-UNOFFICAL-encore
Take a look at the AOKP port for the nook by Krylon360 in the dev thread. All that is possible.

Some things fixed....
I was unable to download Zeam Launcher from Google Play.
Said my device was incompatible.
Bullfeathers......
Found the newest Zeam version v3.1.10, downloaded and installed it, and it works just fine.
Running Zeam fixed problem number 1 above.... with Zeam running, the status bar is moved back to the top and all my full screen applications work perfectly now.
Problem number 2 has changed somewhat.... no soft buttons now in the status bar. This isn't a real problem as I'm used to using Button Savior, which really helps when in a full screen app. It would still be nice to move the status bar back to the bottom and have the Back and Menu soft buttons, but I can live with the way it is now.
Problem number 3 is still valid and I hope someone out there knows something about it.
Thanks j8048188 (wild handle there!)
I'll check it out, but at the moment I'm now totally happy with this version of CM9 as it sits.
Started playing with this upgrade at 4:30 this afternoon and now have everything the way I want it for a while. Time to actually use it instead of hacking it!
About wifi and brightness buttons.
I don't think you really need them, as when you touch the clock a mini menu appears with sliding bars to adjust them both.
Unleashed from my Revolutionized Desire HD
I see what you mean... controls available by tapping the clock.
But that window is still two touches away before actually changing the brightness or turning the wifi on or off. While the power control bar is just one touch.

[Q] Power Saver Mode & Ringtone + Vibration on CM10

Hi, I have two questions relating to my Defy with CM 10 (Quarx, always latest nightly).
1. Is there a good and nice power saver app, or even an power save mode that you can flash, so it's integrated in the system (like on the S III)
2. If you have enabled the notification bar settings, you can choose whether you like to use your ringtone OR ringtone + vibration. Can I set ringtone + vibration as a standard in the settings (besides of the notification bar settings)?
It would be nice if you have an answer

Questions relating to Scaling of Apps and Customisation of Navigation Bar

Hi all, i am the new owner of a topway 4.4.2 head unit. I am a jailbroken iPhone user and used to the world of iOS. I'm somewhat familiar with androids and rooting. My Unit is actually rooted from the box and i wanted to ask a couple of questions.
1st Is there any possible way to customize the navigation bar to display media controls such as play/pause forward reverse? and is it possible to move the nav bar down to the bottom of the screen as opposed to the top?
2nd is it possible to scale apps down. I have certain apps such as apple music that won't display all buttons. I thought about changing dpi but not sure if that will fix it or not.
3rd. Unrelated, text to speech doesnt seem to work. the microphone button doesnt appear on the keyboard and the speech functionality doesnt work in google maps when clicking that microphone. its as if it doesnt recognize the microphone. I've already checked the options in the settings and its enabled.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all
