This is probably a very noob question, so I apologize in advance:
I just rooted my new Nook Touch, using touchnooter-2-1-31.img. The firmware on the Nook is 1.1.0. The problem I'm having is that I can't get the app icon screen to scroll past the first screen, so I can't get to things like NookColor Tools, etc. When I scroll either left or right, the app icons flicker and act as though the screen is scrolling properly, but when the flickering stops the same icons remain. Any ideas about what could be causing this?
Thanks...
Solved it
Turns out I was being too polite with it. I gave up trying to nicely drag from one screen to the next and spent about 30 secs clawing at it, when it finally scrolled to the next icon group. It just needed a bigger hammer...

I apologize if this has already been covered. If it has, I wasn't able to find it.
1)
After a call, when I pull the phone away, the notification bar gets stuck "slightly" pulled down and touches to the screen are unresponsive. I have to pull the notification bar down all the way, then put it back up to make it go away. Otherwise, the bar just stays at about a half inch (or less) from the top of the screen. I'm using the SuperDark rom, but I don't think it's an issue with that since I remember the same thing happening with one of the first calls I made on the phone. It seems to happen about 1 out of 4 calls I make. I'm pretty used to it now and I usually just end the call using the notification bar when it happens, but I wanted to know if anyone is experiencing this and how it can be avoided/fixed.
2)
Animated GIFs. I saw the post of annoyances saying how the browser doesn't support them. But I couldn't find anything about the Gallery app not supporting them, either. I can deal with the browser, but I use Chandroid for 4chan and such, and it would be nice to view the animated GIFs I save from Chandroid in the Gallery. Is there a fix for this? Or possibly an alternate Gallery app I can use?
Thanks in advance
1. Don't press phone against ear until the proximity sensor turns the backlight off.
2. Don't have a specific answer. But I bet 2.2 wouldn't hurt.
good day
Looks like there was a discussion about the gif thing back in April.

I have seen conflicting information about this, though, on the web. I have a phone with 2.2 at home, so I will give it a test tonight and let you know, unless someone replies sooner.
I just received my A7 from and powered it up. There are no icons on any screen. Is this something I should just ignore and do the Dexter Mod? I haven't received the micro sd card that I have ordered yet so I'm about to make a trip to a local big box store to pick on up so I can do the Dexter Mod. Any advice is welcomed.
This post is over a week old, so I'm guessing you may have figured out the answers to your questions. However, in case you haven't...
The screens on your elocity are blank so that you can customize them to your liking. In order to see the icons for the applications and settings installed on the device, navigate to the home screen by tapping the picture of the house to the right of the screen. This is the default screen, and the third of the five available (two screens to the left and two more to the right). From the home screen, tap the largest button on the far right with the square of dots on it (between the picture and globe icons). This will bring you to the applications screen.
As far as updating your device with the latest firmware or custom ROM, you'll need to wait until you receive your MicroSD card to do any of that. Once you do receive it, I would recommend using Dexter's most recent MOD. He's done some great work to make our a7s even better.
Hope this helps...if not you, maybe someone else.
Once you open the app drawer (by tapping the house looking icon), find the app you want to add to the screen and tap and hold it. This will allow you to drag it to where you ant it.
Repeat for each screen you want to add apps to.
Running CM 7.1.0 on nook color with 1.3 ROM. I downloaded and installed App Brain market, Spare Parts, Nook Tweaks, and a couple of games (Bubble Breaker and Angry Birds). The matrix at the bottom center of the screen disappeared; I have rebooted multiple times.
There is now no way that I can find to get to the apps I downloaded -- I can see them with the app manager, but that won't let me launch them.
App Brain moved itself to the desktop(?), and I can launch it by tapping, but I cannot browse the apps. Where did I go wrong? Is App Brain a source to be avoided?
If I understand you correctly, this same thing baffled me upon my first run. You deleted the square box that opens the app drawer correct?
Long press empty area on home screen, and select launcher actions. Then select open/close app drawer. You can put it back in the dock by dragging it back to where it was when you first booted.
I was paranoid and a noob, so I made a spare for my home screen and kept it there for a week, until I realized I could just repeat that fix anytime I needed to.
Alternatively, you can program your swipe up or swipe down action to open/close your app deawer.
Thank you! I held on the background, selected Open/Close, and it showed up on the home screen. Then I dragged it to the bottom of the screen.
I don't know how I lost it, but it's wonderful to know how to put it back.
Hi all,
Having followed the instructions I now have a non-bricked NST with NookManager and ReLaunch. I now have two fairly irritating problems, probably due to me poking around in the settings menu a bit too hard.
PROBLEM THE FIRST
In ReLaunch, my Settings gear does nothing. I press it and the screen flicks and then goes back to ReLaunch (exactly where I was in the first place). This makes my inner tinkerer sad and also makes it more than a little difficult to try and fix the issue with:
PROBLEM THE SECOND
If I go to the Nook e-book reading mode and then take myself back to ReLaunch (I'd bound it to long-press of the hardware n key before my Settings button stopped working), the entire bottom bar has vanished. Which means no Applications button, which means I can't really get to launching any of my apps, which means I have... an ebook reader. The only way I can restore it is by rebooting the NST and selecting ReLaunch from the launcher menu at startup.
Any clues?

You say you cannot access apps, so figure you have Android Market installed? You could try this - Install launcher 7, once installed, you can 'open' it from the notification. You should then be able to access your apps. Make your first port of call the Nook Touch Mod Manager.
Or you could reset the settings in ReLaunch
I have the same problem.

I even unrooted my Nook and rooted it back to fix his. Unfortunately after one use of settings, this problem occured again. Would anyone help?
Undoubtedly it hit an error and died.
What error? Look at the logcat and see.
You need ADB to see logcat.

I have the same exact problem. Could anyone please help fixing this?
Hi Everyone,
Recently my phone was updated to Android v7 and since then I noticed that the icons for the cursor in text boxes and system dialog boxes have got messed up.
I read on Android central, one user posted that uninstalling Kaspersky fixed the issue, although in my case I don't have Kaspersky, so I can't go about uninstalling all apps, got a hell lot of them!

It's frustrating everytime i see this... Please help me...
I think I'm having a similar issue... the cursor locator (below the cursor which points to it) is the wrong size. I tried changing resolutions, nothing fixed it. This also happens when text is selected by long pressing, the selector graphics are too large and it gets cut off. It was working fine when phone was new, I cannot remember at which point it started messing up. Possibly after Oculus VR first changed the screen resolution to WQHD? I set it back to FHD for normal use, but problem persists.
Pertinent Info:

phone not rooted

Maybe found a clue.... this problem seems to occur everywhere, except in a few apps, namely Signal and FB Messenger and FB itself. I thought it might be only in Gapps, but it happens in a few apps that are not part of Gapps. I have seen other people had issues with the little on/off sliders for options in different menu screens under setting, but mine all look fine.

I have those glitches as well apart from what i posted.
I read online its because of some app messing things up. I seriously don't want to reset and start testing this out one app at a time. It will take at least a few days to get back up to speed.
Thanks :crying:
