Hello. Sorry for beginner question.
I'm a happy owner of my 'new' device, called Commtiva Z71. Not the highest-category, but after SE-K770i it's perfect (except camera).
ATM I'm using CM7 RC0 (GingerBread) on that, and would like to TRANSLATE some .APK-s. Tried with some SIMPLE, 3rd party APK and tried with some SYSTEM APPS...
But everytime i got error messages:
A.) If I dont sign the built apk, i can't install
B.) If I sign the APK, I can istall, but frozen, and option appears to FORCED CLOSE
-------
I followed the written "HOW TO" ways... for example
1.) APK decompress (only resources) with APKTOOL
2.) APK build with apktool (WITHOUT CHANGES!)
didn't worked.
----
/SYSTEM/FRAMEWORK/framework-res.apk copied to PC then
apktool if framework-res.apk
Tried 1-2 again. Same result.
----
Tried with making update package and restore with clockworkmod... Still Freeze, and option for FORCED CLOSE
----
Tried ADB PUSH with signed and unsigned apks... same result...
----
Tried to copy generated resources.asrc into original APK... same result...
----
Any Idea or suggestion?
Maybe I used wrong (modified framework for apktool)???
Many thanks for answers

Hello happens to me every time i test an earlier ROM, i end up going back to 2.1 but a custom one. here i introduce you to a custom 2.1 version SOFT-MOD by MMXTREM. I personaly use them and for me they are the best so far.
ok this is the original post in russian:
http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=217235
this is the version i am using right now:
The fifth version of the firmware: Advance Lite Edition
http://www.mediafire.com/?q6hnk02k1whzrvq
* I added a folder named Apps with apps i think people would like and must have, you need to cut the folder and paste it somewhere else in your computer.
Description:
Deodexed ROM 20D CIS from 02.12.2010g.
I decided deodex all system APK and JAR, but to remove the compression, resulting in increased size of the application, but it will increase its rate of discovery! The size of files within the APC is equal to the size of the APC! In short, there is no need to unpack the application before its opening, application opens instantly, resulting in reduced load on the processor, and thus in theory be extended duration of battery life!
Version is designed for experienced users! The system is completely cleaned of debris! Leaving only the vital applications! Simply put - Naked System!
Data – 107 Free space in the Data - 107 MB
System – 83 Free space in the System - 83 megabytes (for manual installation of applications!)
Maximum freed memory! (Gamers will like it!)
The kernel of Quarx v.3.1 + modules
Starting with version number 4, it remains:
Framework, host, butanimatsiya, root, RootExplorer and BusyBox, Sound Scheme.
___________________________________________________________________
The fourth version of the firmware: Full Version
http://www.mediafire.com/?ruboiaykelmjku3
Description:
Full Deodexed ROM 20D CIS from 02.12.2010g
Full version: nothing is deleted!
The whole catabatic soft on, changes were made only:
QuickOffice replaced Documets to go
Odnoklasnikki replaced by a widget Odnoklasnikki
Yandek.Karty updated to version 1.6 (Gugl.Maps nervously smokes on the sidelines)
New Google Maps
New Mail.ru Agent
New Youtube
New Market
New Framework (interface)
Voice Search
Added a new host
Obtained root, set RootExplorer and BusyBox.
Change the notification sound, alarm and call for quality, taken with my sound fashion.
Were also modified some system files and widgets!
Added third-party applications:
RockPlayer (sharpened by our processor)
AppLanet
Skype
Advance Task Manager
SystemAppRemover
Fancy Widget
ICQ
LauncherProPlus
Dolphin Browser Mini
News & Weather
MyPhoneExplorer
Everyone will be able to remove or leave it what it needs through SystemAppRemover
Separately, that would be completely removed:
ArcMediaGallery.apk - delete the folder - 3rd_party \ ArcSoft \ MediaGallery \
ArcVideoEditor.apk - delete the folder - 3rd_party \ ArcSoft \ VideoEditor \
ArcWorkshop.apk - delete the folder - 3rd_party \ ArcSoft \ Workshop \
DioDict2.apk - delete the folder - 3rd_party \ DioDict2 \ and the file - lib \ libDioDictEngineNative.so
Jbed.apk and file - \ lib \ libjbedvm.so
INSTALL FROM RECOVERY AS A RESTORE

Download the 2.2 rom from my Dropbox (I have included the latest Kernel for you)
Extract these files to your desktop and open a Command Prompt window.
Type the following:
Code:
cd <location of fastboot here>
fastboot -w
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase system
fastboot flash boot C:\Users\-username-\Desktop\boot.img
fastboot flash system C:\Users\-username-\Desktop\system.img
fastboot reboot
Remember to replace -username- with your actual Windows username.
Hope it helps,
Jack

For Android 2.2.x is recovery_2.5.0.5 and for Android 2.3.x is recovery_3.0.2.4.

I think it's enough that you throw it into the SystemUI.apk(have a look inside that apk, if it's not there then it is in secframework.apk) (/res/.../XHDPI). Open the apk in winrar (you might have to rename it from .apk to .zip) and drag and drop the new files. Decompiling isn't necessary for this sort of thing.
Also, check this out:

I did this a long time ago so some of what I just said might be wrong, if you need more help then just say so.
I would like to use as a basis the stock rom 4.1.2 : N7000XXLT9_N7000ITVLT3_ITV.zip
I used the kitchen to create workfolder following all the steps suggested by the program , I found the following problems:
1 ) during the procedure appeared to me the following warning :
Warning : A valid boot.img is not found . You have the option to add a
' fake ' boot.img So THAT the features of the kitchen can still
function normally.
This boot.img will be automatically removed from your ROM 's
ZIP file When Is It built .
Add boot.img (y / n)? (default: y) "
is this normal? how to solve ?
2 ) Working folder information ( v)

How do I resolve this? I tried a lot of on-line but have not found anything. My goal is to make me a custom rom from the last stock (LT9) ... what should I do?
Check my old tutorial I used myself when cooking Custom Roms for the N7000 with the kitchen. Following the steps should avoid most problems.

Sorry, but only repeating the problems you actually have won't solve anything because it isn't really clear what you did before.
The error here seems to be a hint that your cygwin installation isn't correct.
So please try to follow the steps in my tutorial exactly. Start from scratch.

No. Because you do this partly when using the kitchen step by step. Or when changing your updater-script.
The kitchen is a great help and simplifies cooking a rom - but it still is a little bit more complicated than heating baby food in the microwave. And if you really want your "custom" rom you should start to learn what happens in each step. And this can't be done by revealing everything...

tried two times to flash deodex zip before upload , never get such problem , try force shutdown your phone , (Hold Power + Vol up) , after shutdown , turn on phone + vol up ( boot into recovery) - clear cache and dalvik cache again- reboot.
I did everything, now I have to re-flash stock FW : (
BTW, I have problwm with Titanium Backup-I can't uninstall pre-install app, it keeps comeback whenever i restart the phone. Is that has something to do with odexed-deodexed thing ?
and Xposed said it is not compatibel with my FW either, is that normal ?

The force closes are mainly due to left over odexed apps
make sure every app should be deodexed ( if you got Gapps force close then you would be having some google apps with odex. like youtube, hangouts, gmail etc.,)
and even the apps in vendor/app should be deodexed
i have a small doubt if you dont mine... that will help me
Have you really zipaligned the apps ?
how was that possible ?
thank you,
