Google Play Store Updated To v3.5.15, Download Now - Galaxy S I9000 General

Google Play updated to 3.5.15
Google has released a new build of the Google Play Store app (build 3.5.15), which is now available for download. Features include a new tabbed interface in the "My Apps" section, as well as more concise, informative app reviews, which allow you to see the specific device of the person leaving the review, as well as filter your search results by device.
Seeing as the Google Play Store is still in relative infancy, the likelihood of regular updates such as this are high, and if each revision turns up a couple of useful new features like this one has, Google’s vision of a well-functioning, streamlined content center could certainly bear fruit.

Nice update. Thanks.

[APP] Android Tablet Apps - Web's Largest Database of Android Tablet Apps

Hey there, fellas (and ladies!)! Are you tablet owners tired of that fact that the Android Market still does not have a dedicated tablet app section yet? I got tired of that very fast, and I decided, back in January, to open a website that would become the web's largest database providing users with nothing but applications that are designed to work on Android tablets. I've fought and struggled to make everything work just like it should, and finally, I feel that it's in a position where I can open it up to the masses.
I'm here today to present to you my app, which is live on the market right now. This app is called Android Tablet Apps, and, as the title states, you'll be able to browse all of the Android tablet applications That I have added to my website.
You can download the application from the market via this link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androidtabapps.tablink
Please, if you have any comments or suggestions, leave them below, and I will consider them. I am open to anything you have to say.
This app is compatible with both phones AND tablets, running android 2.2+. I didn't feel the need to restrict the app to just tablets, because a lot of us tablet owners also have phones and it would be nice to browse tablet apps sometimes, when you don't have your tablet, right?
Should probably reserve this post for any future need.
Market install issue
Thank you for creating this app. I have downloaded it from the market and the market indicates it is installed, but it does not show up on my tablet... Am using an Acer Iconia A500 with a rooted stock rom, so I am unsure of how to test this,
Thanks,
Edit:
Rebooted, went back and tried the third time and finally installed.
I really wish I could debug that problem, because I have the exact same problem on my tablet, too. (I've the a500 as well).
Very good app. Installed without a hitch on my A501.

Very nice app man, sweet presentation! Thanks

How is this different from Tablet Market?
Your market description says "Android Tablet Apps is your number one source, as well as the FIRST source online, for Android tablet applications and games".
How is this different from the Tablet Market app that I've been using for months?

From the screenshots, yours does look nicer.

From the looks of that app and its website, there's no web interface that tablet owners can use to browse tablet apps. Our web interface is located at www.androidtabapps.com and as mentioned, I've had it up and running since January 2011.
I haven't actually seen that app before, so I couldn't tell you how its functionality differs from mine or anything.
I appreciate your compliment, as well as all other compliments in this thread.
I believe I will be implementing a search option very soon. This search will work on both the tablet and phone version of my application, and it should be released very soon. Also, I think I am going to rework some of the functionality of the app, so be on the lookout for the new update notification when I upload the next version. I'll also post here, that there's an update available, and explain the changes in my second post in the beginning of this thread.
Again, all suggestions are welcome. If you have an idea on how I can improve my app for you, PLEASE let me know, either via this thread, or via the email that's in my app details on the Market.
there's also Tablified (both app + website) to also disprove this one being the first. All that aside though, this app looks quite promising and there's alot of good content, although if I were to be picky, I noticed a few apps not specifically made for tablets. Also, I wish the Market links would open the Market app rather than the website. Just my 2 cents... Looks nice though. I'll definitely be keeping it and looking forward to future updates. Thanks for sharing!
I'd like to take just a moment to counter the claimin post #9. My website has been live since January 6, 2011, while the other site mentioned has been online since July 21, 2011. I am not sure when they released their app as I obviously haven't followed them closely enough, but I can definitly back my claim as being the first source onthe internet for Android tablet apps
I would also like to thank you for your compliments about my app, and I will definitely change the link structure to open app links in your native Market app, rather than the web Market. This change will take place this weekend. Thanks for your suggestion!!
Bloodflame, can you name those apps that we accidentally added that aren't for tablets? Ill review them and remove them. Thanks

Is the Nexus 7 really a tablet?

While I have been initially impressed with the hardware, having most of my apps appear as just larger phone apps is annoying. My original reaction to this was "it will get better", right? Now I am not so sure. Did Google screw the pooch on this one?
Case in point: Grocery IQ, an often used app has been recently updated to a tablet version "yay!". But initially this update broke both the phone and tablet version on Nexus 7. I contacted the developer and was told they were aware of the issue and a fix would be released soon.
Got that new release this morning, the phone version, not the tablet version. Tablet version is incompatible with the Nexus 7. So... yet another app that has a tablet version, but not on the Nexus 7.
So is the iPad Mini the only 7-8 inch tablet available or do the Samsung 7 inchers behave like a tablet too? And what has Google left out of the dev environment that has developers of apps like Grocery IQ and Trip Advisor issuing their phone apps to the Nexus 7 and not their tablet counterparts?
It does get rather annoying just having a "big" phone, I'd love to see some tablet apps appearing PROPERLY on the Nexus 7.
But thats Android in general at the moment, everything is scaled and all look the same!
And don't forget the lazy companies, that, instead of releasing just the phone app, or tablet app, just block and ban an app for the nexus 7.
ChatOn for example -.- finally got my guys to use it, and now I have to search for a new chat app -.- and the support just says "thx for your mail" blah blah.... But we'll see what the future brings...

Some tablet apps work, like news 360 and that is brillaint and the Times app worked as tablet. Only thing what annoys me is Chrome always requests mobile sites.
It's the fault of lazy or incompetent developers.
It really takes no magic to check for tvdpi (IIRC) and then load the tablet layout XML - but they just fail to do it.
But they'll get what they deserve. Their apps will get lesser downloads over time and people will move to the apps doing it right.
And it's also not hard to just release the app until they fixed it.. Why banning... I don't get it..

Blaming the app developers is not really the smart route. Google has had plenty of time to make the n7 a tablet ui. We are on the fourth revision (4.1, 4.1.1, 4.2, 4.2.1) and google has actually moved further away form tablet ui by removing all remaining framework for it in 4.2. In this instance, looking any further than google when assigning blame would be silly. But, those kinds of things make you appreciate our xda devs just that much more when they release fixes for us all.

Wrong.
Don't confuse the complete "tablet UI" with the launcher and notification area.
The notification area is actually THE ONYL thing they changed.
The UI still uses fragments when in "tablet (UI) mode" - just compare the settings app with the default DPI and then edit it to 160, big difference there.

I've been looking at the Hangouts APK. You can almost definitely expect to see some new features announced at I/O.
From what I can tell hangouts it getting a major update. This latest apk (2.1.311) has quite a bit of new code. Just from an cursory look, I think we can expect to see...
1. Google Voice integration.
No surprise here. Google Voice's integration was only on hold because of some security issue and they had to force developers to use a new API for accessing GVoice. The last day to transition off the old system was almost a month ago. And the amount of references to "Voicemail" in the code, shot up substantially.
2. Google Wallet integration
The amount of code with wallet mentioned in it seems to have shot up. I'm hoping this may actually be a feature to pay a person through hangouts. That would be pretty neat.
3. Remote support
It looks like google may be taking a page from Amazon's playbook and adding a remote control and support feature. I'm guessing this will likely be "helpouts" being rolled in to a remote user being able to show you how to do things on your device. This is purely speculation now.
4.The rest.
I'll leave these up to you to take what you will from them. Here is a list of new folders that seem to have been added. (along side folders like plus, maps, games, etc)
analytics
cast
drive
feedback
gcm (looks to just be some networking callbacks)
identity
playlog
tagmanager
wearable

Google Email formally known as AOSP, Available though GP

Finally if you like me and want and all in one free email service, Google has now loaded its AOSP Email to the Google Play Store. This means we dont have to wait for system updates to get a newer version.
Hopefully it will be updated to Gmail counter part.

This isn't "AOSP Email". It's like Calendar and the other apps that have been moved to the store: they've branched the original code, closed their new code additions, and left users looking for open solutions hanging.
Kinda late pal.... It's been in the store for a couple of weeks now.

You're calling it AOSP, yet the Play Store doesn't. I can't compile the AOSP Email code and get the same features. Saying "AOSP" or "CM" implies code availability. It's not the same app (anymore). It's now a closed-source "Google Email":
http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/06/18/googles-stock-email-app-finds-its-way-onto-the-play-store/
"It's the Email app you know and love from Android, but with a few added features. For the initial Play Store debut, Google has beefed up security (in unspecified ways) for Gmail accounts, improved the account setup flow, added printing to the app, and fixed "other bugs.""
Like most Google apps that migrate to the Play Store, there are differences between the AOSP and Store versions. These changes are not reflected in the AOSP code.
http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2013...ntrolling-open-source-by-any-means-necessary/
"For some of these apps, there might still be an AOSP equivalent, but as soon as the proprietary version was launched, all work on the AOSP version was stopped."
"Just about any time Google rebrands an app or releases a new piece of Android onto the Play Store, it's a sign that the source has been closed and the AOSP version is dead."
I'll keep my AOSP Email for the time being. If things get bad, K-9 may be another option.

"Google's Email App Now Available on Play Store" would have been fine too.
Thank you for updating the title. Some of us take open-source fairly seriously, and closing the source of open projects even more seriously.
I appreciate that you monitor your threads and listen to feedback. That gets kudos.

It's supposed to be device-independent; that's supposedly why Google pushed it to the Play Store. It just might be a matter that CM is having some compatibility issues. I don't know that CM users are or aren't able to install the new Email.
As far as "update" goes, my AOSP-based RastaKat has the AOSP Email client, and I have never been prompted to update to the Play Store version. That is fine by me.

Works with CM based roms with Nexus Devices. You will have two email apps though.
