[q] help!!! Korean galaxy note e160l imei and rom problem - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

Hi, my girl friend bought a galaxy note from Korea last week.
We live in Turkey and in Turkey we have to register the imei number of the phone to the govenrment. But, there is no imei number in the phone. We tried *#06#, we went to the samsung service, but the phone does not have an imei number. Is it possible to write email to note?
I want to flash an international rom, but I do not know is it possible for E160L version of galaxy note? I could not find any information about this.
Does anybody have korean version of galaxy note? Could you change the rom?
Thanks

Dont want to sound offensive but did she really bought a real phone?? Bcoz never heard of a phone without Imei..apart from chinese fakes.

She is with me now. I am already using n7000 galaxy note. First she called me and told this situation. I did not believe her first. But, yesterday she brought her phone to me. Yes it is a real galaxy note SHV-E160L. I called samsung, they said that yes it is true but you have to contact Samsung Korea.
It is really interesting but yes the phone has no imei.
I solved the registration issue of imei number. I called the government office, and they said that because it has no imei there is no problem because we can not detect your phone.
Now I have to install an internation Rom. How can I install Europe or US Rom to Korean Galaxy note?

REQUEST][MOD] Region Lock Removal Tool
hello modders
I and others who travel a lot will need a tool which will remove region lock provided to all new galaxy phones since July 2013
Reference: http://gigaom.com/2013/09/26/seriously-samsung-sorry-european-roamers-but-the-new-galaxy-note-3-is-region-locked/
we need to find the code that was used to unlock the note 2 but now does not work on note 3 we can then acess secret menu and maybe unlock all regions hope we can find the engineer code.
This one below

Yah, this is true and for me it doesn't make sense.
I can confirm that when i got the Galaxy note 3 yesterday it has a sticker on it, I checked the retailers here also S4 boxes have that sticker too.

Just purchased mine in Hong Kong, No Sticker or warning of any kind.
No idea where this information comes from and which countries Note version/s it refers to, but I just got my N9000 (SM-N900) here in Bangkok, Thailand and tried it with European SIM cards (roaming, as I am still in Bangkok) and they all work just fine.
EDIT: Also no sticker or warning of any kind.
It is only for the first time you activate the phone. E.g. If you are in Europe with an European phone, activate using a European sim, you are OK to use other Sims when you travel.
But if u try using a say a American sim to activate the European ph on first boot then u are ****ed.

Not exactly ****ed. You can still unlock it via code or the service center.
Updated details here: http://www.sammobile.com/2013/09/27...cking-works-and-its-not-as-bad-as-we-thought/
Others have already shown that this is a software lock done via the CSC. I don't have a Note 3, but based on my experience with the Galaxy S4, this is something that would be very easy to remove.

[Q] How to verify if it's a Clone? / Weird IMEI (SM-N9006)

Hi there,
I currently have an LG G2 that I paid 330$C a week ago and I found someone with a Galaxy Note 3 like new that his aunt gave him and that he finds too big blah blah blah
Now, it's a very interesting offer because I'm missing so badly my S2's removable battery and extensible sd card, and also worth nothing that some people then trade Galaxy Note 3 for Galaxy S5
Now, I'm supposed to see the dude tomorrow to do the trade, but 2 things made me unsure if it's a legit unit or a clone. First, the IMEI he told me points to a Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000, on two sites I checked, the IMEI says it's a tablet but that it's compatible to the network. Is it possible that this is indeed a Note 3 with an IMEI recognized as a Note 10.1?
Secondly, the model number he told me it is is the SM-N9006, which is a China model from what I've read on the internet. WCDMA version. Now I think there's no problem for that to work with my network (Bell Canada), altho I'm really unsure for LTE compatibility. I didn't find reliable source for complete specification sheet on this model. Maybe someone here can give me light about the bands it uses and if it's really the SnapDragon 800 version?
Now since we're in Montreal here in Canada, I wonder why and how could he buy a China model in here, that's curious. And the IMEI pointing to other samsung device? What's up with this do you guys think? Is it a phone that is gonna give me troubles or could it be fine and the real deal??
How to check if it's a Clone? What about the IMEI? If I ask him to install the Antutu app before we meet and that I run it and it scores 30 000+ and that the specs in the app say it's the snapdragon 800 procesor and 3gb RAM, could I believe it's the real deal? Because clones won't show with the real deal's procesor and RAM? And if I try it with my micro SIM card and that it works and I can make call and use internet, am I safe to go home with this phone knowing it's the real specs and work on network?
Big thanks for anyone helping me out with this!
First there's none WCDMA network in China...
China developed their own 3G system called TD-SCDMA...
And super king copy phone can display real phone info...
IMEI doesn't lie. Maybe the IMEI is cloned/tampered....
There's an app here in XDA (forgot where, its in Note 3 threads) that can check if its fake or real...

Very simple.
Install Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app, go to 'Refurbishment Check' menu.
Honestly it sounds sketchy. I buy and sell phones as well as repair them and checking the iemi is the best thing to do. If it comes up with something else like it did in your case I would run away from it.

[Q] S5 buying advice

Hello
I am from India and I've been trying to purchase a Galaxy S5 from ebay. There is one available with a trusted seller with a good price but the model is S5 Duos and model number is G900FD. I know Indian versions are supposed to be G900I. So my question is this: Will the same custom ROMs for Galaxy S5 work with Galaxy S5 duos? or is there a slight change in the source files that makes it incompatible with s5 roms and leave me at the mercy of Touchwiz forever?

DID u buy the phone? id yes how is your experience with it , please share.
No they aren't compatible. You could flash the custom roms but you won't have network signal after. Though there are a number of custom roms for the dual aim variant if you want.

Hello, If you dislike touchwiz you can still install a alternative launcher. I did not try on the GS5 but I had a GS3 before and I succefully replace touchwiz by Apex launcher. Once the alternate launcher is started you can still kill samsung one.
Has anyone bought this, I wanted to know the performance and battery backup

I ended buying G900F the European version, even though I'm in India. The phone performance is fine, benchmarks as per reviews. And it came with Lollipop which added some features that they havent advertised before such as 4K video recording. Getting regular OTA once per 1-2 months on average. Can't say anything about the dual sim version because I didnt buy it...

From where did you buy it, I am also looking good this one only bit since it is not available thinking to get the dual SIM
Also what is the battery backup you get on lollipop...

Was hard to obtain actually. Got it from ebay finally but its a version without warranty becuase technically its smuggled. As for battery backup, it loses 10-20% over a day without using 3g/wifi, 40-60% over a day while using either of them. The screen is absolutely brilliant.
I am also thinking of getting it from eBay which seller did u buy it from and how's the screen on time you get with it
I am returning my G900H to flipkart and would get refund, I am thinking to either get this or Xiaomi MI4

Name printed on the back

I bought an S7 edge but the s7 edge is not printed on the back, do all have it printed?
Most reviews I've seen have it, just wondering.
Mine only has the Samsung name printed, but no model printed, it does have however the small imprints of imei, actually 2 imei's due to the fact is a duos, designed by Samsung and made in Vietnam etc.
Howdi... I also don't have this... Voda UK model...
So you're not on your own
I have all printed bought in India

Mine also not printed - From South Africa - SM-G935F
And did you know, if you got a red phone, they go faster.
The international version (exynos) doesn't have it. This has been like this since the first Galaxy phone, US models had the "Galaxy S blabla" on the back but international versions not. It's not that they forgot printing it.
I like it without so no problem for me.

Yeah, what he said. Apparently International versions only come branded with the Samsung logo.

Root Galaxy S5 Tracpone?

Hello,
I have had this old Galaxy S5 for sometime and it has FRP on but I cannot bypass it, I've tried methods pertaining to the SM-G900 model but none have availed, my model is SM-S903VL(GP).
I haven't found any info aside from my model basically being the same and having no issue rooting with the files pertaining to the SM-G900's
Any help to get me through this FRP would be bless by the papa himself, thx

Well, Since no one has tried to help you, I'll throw my 2 cents in...
Your So Called Galaxy S5, well, those numbers you posted?! They are NOT for a Galaxy S5 900! The SM-G900P is/was a Sprint Phone! Plus, It was actually used by other Brands, Like Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile all of which were Tied to the "Sprint Network" .
Oh, Back the S3's came out, was about the time I had Left TracFone! Could, maybe be theirs, but I believe it is not their either.
If this Can Power On, then you need to check out all menus inside. I would look for the IMED IME Numbers! With those, you can "Google" and Know the carrier , as possible Name of the phone!
I am pretty certain that this unit, is NOT an Official, Samsung Galaxy S5.

Thank you so much for a reply,
The phone tho in fact is a TracFone phone as the logo cover and it boots up with that deathly blue TracFone logo.
Also I googled my model SM-S903VL and it's listed as Straight Talk all tho a few other links state both for the phone, and well the SM-G900 I had read in on another thread about it possibly being similar, so with that in mind I had hopes for a possible bypass on the frp.
I will check the numbers out to make sure they all match when I arrive back home. Interesting that you say it might not be an OFFICIAL Galaxy S5, the phone was obtained by a relative who buys TracFone only and has since switched emails through out each phone so unlinking the phone to the email would be very improbable.
Haha I notice my misspelling of TracFone and I do apologize as I do so with my grammar.

For me the G903 is known as S5 Neo.
