My Transformer autorestarted and got this notification just now, can anyone confirm legitimacy?

Weird - the only thing I had done to mine was root with Vipermod - update installed fine, broke root, voodoo root keeper restored root without issue....
I didn't really have any of the issues that most people had - tho the screen tearing on the recent app list now appears to be gone....

I have the dlpkg if anyone wants it, i just have to transfer it to my PC. Looks like the kernel update, is only 11MB so it might upload here if I pack it in a zip..
Looking at it, there is a blob file almost certainly a new kernel, some system patches, lib patches, the updater script is tremendous.. and almost all if not all system apps get a patch too.
Nope, even though it is 11.54MB, and the forum claims that 11.81MB is the max, it won't let me upload it..I guess if you want it PM your email I can send it over..

Scratch my previous - the screen tearing issue on the recent apps list still exists past six or seven recent apps...

Got the notification too.I m rooted though so i wont proceed with the update procedure unless someones makes a flashable zip!

Reported for dubble posting. Use searching next time please.

I got mine around 10 am. But what I was doing when I got it was a wipe. After the wipe was when it told me I had an update. So far seems pretty good. Of course that's been said many times only to have to eat them. Time will tell.

Nice, please download the update and pull the .zip before rebooting to install it:
Code:
adb pull /cache/dlpkgfile.zip
then you can delete it:
Code:
adb shell rm /cache/dlpkgfile.zip

Thanks man!

No work for me.
I am using ICS - Rooted
Downloaded the Updated (through OTA) and then it prompts to reboot and install and..Fails.
It is prolly because I Modified the system (Removed bloat and changed a few things. Lol.
I may re install it as stock rooted and try again.
I have no Issues, so I may not. Hmmmm

Yes, the updater script does a fair bit of assessing of your system..including all your bloatware that I can tell..because all of that is patched.

[GUIDE] ROOTED USERS ONLY: Backup and restore Documents to Go Paid

Dataviz's Documents to Go does not work properly in market.
If you are rooted and migrate to Froyo (or any other rom) and wipe, Dataviz does not reinstall your paid application based on your Google account info and you need to reinstall the demo application in market.
When you reinstall the application, you can reinstall the demo version or you can re-purchase the new version
Option to buy new version does not exist in Froyo.
When you reinstall the demo version, the upgrade you paid for does not work becase when you re-install, you get a new registration number which Dataviz uses to track registrations.
There are two solutions:
You can back up your installation data yourself or you can call DataViz, if you still have your original registration number.
To manage this yourself and not deal with Dataviz:
Part 1: Create a data backup BEFORE you wipe/flash a new ROM:
adb start-server
adb remount
make a note of the working directory for next step
adb pull /data/data/com.dataviz.docstogo com.dataviz.docstogo
you now have a copy of your dataviz.dtg data (including reg info) on your PC.
Part 2: To restore your paid Documents to Go after new ROM flash:
Return to the directory where you ran the pull from
Reinstall Documents To Go demo from market
adb kill-server
wait for server to shut down
adb start-server
adb remount
adb push com.dataviz.docstogo /data/data/com.dataviz.docstogo
Your premium paid app is restored
Optional: If you've already upgraded and can't access your paid application, you're not out of luck if you've done a nandroid backup.
Nandroid backup your current install.
Wipe, then nandroid restore your previous backup containing the installed & paid Docs2Go app.
Perform Part 1 above
Wipe, then nandroid restore newest backup.
Perform Part 2 above
NOTE: This works on my rooted Froyo. This should not be required with a stock phone with OTA update.

Good news. Rooted and coming from other ROMS, you will lose it if you wipe to make sure the new ROM works correctly. I'll update the guide.

Have not yet installed. Trying to find the ZIP on my phone.
Anyone know where the update ZIP downloads to? If we install this update will we be unable to root?
Maybe a fix for the SD card glitch?
Yea that's what most people are saying.
if it only fixes microSD card issue then you shouldn't loose ROOT..
but who's gonna try first??
DO NOT INSTALL THE UPDATE!
https://twitter.com/unrevoked
There's an OTA update we just got on the #EVO that breaks the root. Don't install it if you want to root.

theres gotta be another way to root afte applying the update
it is the sd card glitch fix they told us about it yesterday in our meeting
sd card glitch is rare
i've had the EVO (from I/O) and have only rarely seen this SD card glitch. if it happens i close out the camera app (kill it with a task manager) and then reopen it and it works fine. like i said, has only happened 2-3 times in the past two weeks.
if the OTA update kills root i'd rather wait otherwise if it can still be rooted with the sd card issue fixed then i'll run the ota update
i got that Update soon i turnt my phone on. soon i check for PRI updates and etc etc when you first turn the phone on it said no frimware was found. Then 5secs later a update pops up
this is off topic, but does rooting void the warranty?
Unlike the nexus one, which has some sort of hardware fuse or something when you first root, you can get the EVO back to pure stock form.
It is an update to fix the memory card issue. To read all about it go the Engadget.
I have tried to apply the OTA update because I have had numerous sdcard issues that are more annoying than not having root (for the moment). The update will not apply. It starts to apply the update and then the screen displays a red ? and then reboots. Checking the software version and it remains the 1.32.651.1 version.
Has anyone actually tried this and gotten it to work?

sorry but that's incorrect. From a person who HAS updated, my unrevoked root is working perfectly fine, as well as my awesome free wireless tether.
I was able to flash this zip (Supersonic_1.32.651.6_rooted.zip) from recovery over my existing Supersonic_1.32.651.1 ROM. I can confirm my system reports software version .6, and all is working. I am still able to sudo.. tethering and root explorer work great!

You quoted some old news. The guys behind Unrevoked has already patched their root method.
Has anyone noticed a decreased 3G connection speed after the OTA update and/or PRL update?
My first few days was consistently getting 1200kbps down and 1000kbps up in 3g. After these two updates... 800kbps down and 800 up. Seems pretty consistent and stabilized... pisses me off... thinking about taking it back and NOT updating PRL. is there a way to roll back?
I keep reading different answers and its rather confusing. Is it safe to install the OTA update 1.32.651.6 or not?

[Q] "Hello world, PM EasyView!"? Possible malware caught on screenshot?

I recently took a screenshot that revealed another background window behind a warning message window that says "Hello world, PM EasyView!"
Is this some kind of malware? I tried scanning my phone with Lookout Security and it did not detect anything suspicious.
It all began when all of a sudden my stock 2.2.2 Defy's Task Manager kept showing popup messages telling me that my Hotmail app is running for too long and is consuming memory. This never happened before, ie. Task Manager app showing warning messages about apps running for too long. I suspect a malware infestation. Please advise.

If you are scared that you are infected by malware the only "safe" thing to do is a full data wipe.
You dont have clockworkmod installed do you? Would be helpfull to have a full copy of the system to analyze it. I think clockworkmod would be a perfekt method to get a copy of the whole system.
sorry i don't know how to solve this. maybe it's time for you to change to some other ROMs...

Well not exactly scared but I was just wondering about the origin of that "Hello world" message. "PMEasyView"? I wasn't able to find any app or developer by that name among the apps installed on my phone. Just was wondering if anyone here knew thats all. I rooted my phone using SuperOneClick, does it install Clockworkmod too? Or do I have to do it separately?

I did install CM 7.1(2.3.7) but I didn't quite like it..I mean don't get me wrong..CM 7.1 is awesome but the ADW launcher kept crashing on me, something was eating up the battery way to fast and this is weird but I found that the sound quality(headphone and speaker) had actually deteriorated..maybe I didn't get some settings right but anyways I decided to roll back to the Motorola stock 2.2.2 froyo JRDNEM_U3_3.4.3-36-1.7 and wait until CM9 was out.
Thanks for the replies guys..really appreciate you taking the time.

If adw doesn't work for you, you can download another one from the market. I use go launcher and it works without any problems and damn fast. You should give it a try.

Well it's typical behavior of mallware - I dont have information, that stock task manager will inform you, that some process is running more than x minutes ... try wipe to factory settings and you'll be sure.
Rooting doesn't install Clockworkmod. You only get superuser after rooting. Install 2nd-init and you get Clockworkmod.
You should start using Droidwall and AVG antivirus pro. Try limit the data freedom running in the background.
Thanks for the replies guys. I think I'll wait for CM9. I do have Droidwall installed and I've scanned my phone thoroughly with Lookout Security but nothing was detected. Is it possible that the firmware posted here, the 2.2.2 India one is somehow infected?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1093352
I took another screenshot of the supposed malware today, this time without the task manager message. I was able to dismiss the task manager message by pressing the search key somehow.
I have seen exactly that same message today. I thought I have been fairly careful about Malware. However, there was an update that was installed from marketplace today.
I wonder if it is possible to look at an update history.

Is the message window in your case appearing under the exact same circumstances as mine? Which ROM are you using? And also if its possible could you do an inventory of the all the apps installed on your phone, then perhaps we can pinpoint the source. Thanks for the reply.

What I did is let it download and reboot into custom recovery and then stopped the flash. Told TWRP to cancel the flash, then rebooted the system and got rid of the update. Then went into /cache and deleted the update file. Never been prompted again.
Usually you can let it try to install and fail to get rid of any nagging. Say if you make a backup of S-Health app and uninstall/freeze it and maybe some other stock system apps the update will fail anyways since it can't update those.
Thanks.

Does not update my deb....
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I received the update OTA on my rooted (deb) N7/2, booted to TWRP and flashed the .zip, that is in /cache. Update runs fine. I didn't use the recovery option to fix SU permissions.
Just rebooted to OS, went to recovery and flashed the SU.zip afterwards.
Root and TWRP are working fine.
I received the update too and installed it via twrp.
All went fine exept for root. I just had to install chainfires root package (1.55) again.
is it a sign to get a factory image in a short time?

You have touchscreen problems on a LTE version? I don't have any problems on my LTE version with 08.2013 build date.

Slightly OT here, but since it might still be useful for future OTA updates: How does one catch/find out the OTA URL of an update? I understand that the update itself gets downloaded to /cache and there you can find the filename, but what about the URL?

simplest way is a proxy in your wifi network, which handles all http/https requests for the phone/tablet.

If you know the update file name then it's easy. Address is android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/google_devicecodename/filename so in our case android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/google_razorg/filename
if i am not mistaken the url is also visible in logcat.
So just to make sure I`m getting this right, I have a rooted DEB with TWRP installed:
1. Flash the zip from recovery
2. Flash SuperSU.zip
3. Reboot
4. Done
Or is a reboot needed in between between steps 1. and 2.? Does anyone have a working link to the SuperSU files needed (thanks in advance!).

Even more simple is:
1) just allow a USB developer mode in the settings (no root needed)
2) fire up your ubuntu linux
3) run adb lolcat | grep http in the terminal
and take a look for something like
I/SystemUpdateService( 3997): starting download of hxxp://android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/google_razorg/...
