You don't need to use CAPS. Without any information we cannot help you.
We need DETAILS.
Phone 32A or 32B?
SPL version?
Radio version?
Recovery?
Rooted or not?
Goldcard made?
Tutorial followed?
If so then which one?
etc etc.
Just saying HELP HELP HELP without telling us where you are at and then getting mad at us MODS isn't going to get anywhere.

You do know that MODS is short for MODERATORS, right? Being me?
If I don't know (or anyone else for that matter) how else to help you then we just don't know. There are over a dozen different types of MyTouch devices. If you find someone that has them all rooted with knowledge on all of them then let me know. A technique for one doesn't always work for all of them. When YOU figure it out then post a HOW-TO for others to follow. Until then don't blame the MODERATORS for not knowing how to root YOUR phone.
Your contradicting yourself you said in the other thread that if I followed directions I would have no problem now your saying that there is no solution. yes I do know mods its short for people like yourself who like to go on power trips cause your a internet moderator. No wonder kingxkxlick left.

You have no idea what you are talking about if you want to take this to private message I will more than happy to discuss it with you but not in the open.
And for your information he was breaking forum rules and was asked to leave.
And in regards to meet contradicting myself if you use the resources that have been provided to you by other contributing members in you will not have a problem. Do not blame moderators like myself or other members for not being able or willing to spoon feed you. Remember that XDA Developers is not the only resource on the internet for rooting your phone. If you want to continue being counter productive with your negative comments and rudeness then i suggest you take it to another forum.

Sort of. Just to confirm, you DO have root right?
Hi,
I have the MyTouch 4G Rooted thru GFREE mode. I did a Factory Reset, but obviusly i still have the S OFF.
Do you think i can just return to T Mobile like This? one of the keys is not working very well and i need this covered by the Warranty
Well I have heard they don't check very deep as long as you have a stock like or stock ROM. But you still run the risk... I would just follow the unrooting method and get it to 100% stock just to be sure they don't try to rape you.

Definitely try to unroot it. Dont risk it, T-Mobile maybe a little more relaxed than other carriers but you never know.

Don't worry about it. Read my previous comments on this issue here.
I had the same problem. I tried flashing a stock rom because some people said you lose s-off but no luck. I say wipe it. Root it again with gfree then unroot it with the gfree way. That worked for me.

I've returned almost half a dozen rooted phone's back to TMO, haven't had a problem.
Don't Worry
Don't Worry man, I just had the same problem with the GFree method and I wasn't able to unroot it. I sent it back to T-mobile anyway and they didn't check and sent me a replacement!
You have?? Wow...I was willing to take that chance because I was having a hard time getting mines unrooted and asked around if anyone ever heard any stories or anyone personally that had their Warranty voided. That's a blessing nothing ever happened. I was told T-Mobile would say something so I focused on getting it Unrooted!
bro they rarely check for that, ive sent about 2 phones with s-off and ive gotten a replacement lol. good luck tho
You can unroot by following the TRUE method. In my case, I had root till I reflashed the stock image

You can't get S-ON back without using your part7backup files. If you lost those, you can't get S-ON back at all.
This is a noob question but i just rooted my phone yesterday and have been trying out different roms.
I am going to upgrade to the galaxy sIII soon but when i go into the sprint store to turn in my phone it needs to be unrooted and everything.
I dont know how to unroot it or put it back to normal so they could never tell that i had done anything with the phone i forgot to backup the phone.
Could anyone help me out? Sorry that i sound like such a noob.

HBOOT 2.8 With S-OFF but it still say's i have S-ON
i just put Smelkus Amon Ra-Supersonic-4.3 recovery on it.
it's not letting me post the link because i am a new user and cant post links until i make over 10 post.
But its HTCEVOHACKS Guide for people that need to root HBOOT-2.18.0001
Probably the easiest thing to do is follow the instructions on how to downgrade your Hboot and just leave it at that. You'll lose root and have s-on, and you'll also get rid of the watermark in the bootloader screen that indicates that it's unlocked. Follow the steps in this guide to downgrade your Hboot:

Essentially, s-on is "security on", and vice-versa. Having s-off allows you the ability to flash things like radios to your phone. As far as the stock ROM, there are links to two different stock Sprint ROM's (sometimes also referred to as RUU or ROM Upgrade Utilities) in that thread I linked you to. Just pick one. Since you won't be rooting it again it won't matter, and a Sprint rep won't know that the ROM on your phone isn't the one it came with to begin with.

Along the lines of the original issue, will Sprint activate a rooted phone or do they actively check to see if it's rooted before activating? Just curious b/c I have an extra one I'm selling and it's still rooted.
Yes i have another question too, if i unroot my phone is it perminitly unrooted? Or would i be able to re root it.
Just helpfull for the future if i decide to root whatever phone i upgrade too.

No it's not permanent. You can root again after unrooting. A lot of people will unroot to take their phone in for service or warranty claims and then root it again after it's fixed.

Hi all! I just received an update message from AT&T to update the software of my phone. I am one of those people who is really paranoid and won't update unless I know it'll be beneficial and won't affect anything else at all. I am currently on version i337ucuamdl. I tried looking up the update and I'm not getting to much information. I don't even know what the version is on the update... Can anyone clarify or concur with me?

If you ever want to put a custom recovery and rom on your phone don't take it.
There is plenty of information about the update in the "General" section if you are serious about learning what it is.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=213864485
Here's a search you use to see a lot of things about the MF3. I would recommend staying away from it, I had many problems with it myself with it.
So it turns out this post was made irrelevant because last night when I was asleep my phone updated itself without my permission. Now I have seen ways to Odin down to AMDL, but I think I'm gonna hold off just a wee bit longer. Lemme tell you though.. I'm pretty upset about the fact I didn't get the chance to approve or deny.

People should be forced to read the "Beginner's Info Thread", which is stickied in the General forums, at least once before they're allowed to read anything else, IMO.
Right at the top is the method to block OTA updates from happening:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301762
Once it's done, it's done. MF3 is a mofo. No possible way to downgrade, no way to install custom recovery or custom ROM. You can root...but no way to unroot...so not worth it for most people.

You're not likely to get a replacement, at this point, that isn't already on MF3. Since the update has been out for over 6 weeks...chances have grown slim.
Personally, I'm planning on switching to the Note 3 in about a month...and this is actually a good situation for me as my non-MF3 S4 should fetch a bit of a premium on Ebay! You could go that route to get what you want I guess (sell yours on ebay and buy an MDL one).

Haha yeah that is definitely my big worry. Doubt I'll pull the trigger on that until I see an exploit published.
So it turns out that there is a method to root, but not safely from what it sounds like. Now I'm determined to dig into exploiting Android. This will be a new thing for me. So any tips on how one does this will be very helpful and I will be very grateful.
Thank you everyone who has replied to my thread.

You can root it safely and there is a safe way to unroot it too. What you need to be careful with is what you do to it when it is rooted. Because there is no way to odin a stock firmware if you mess something up your stuck with it. (It appears that best buy now has the ability to flash the stock mf3 firmware so you have a little more room for error).
With root, most people want to remove bloatware. If you do, use titanium backup and freeze the apps, don't delete them. That way if you get over zealous you can just unfreeze them.
Good luck.

I Have searched, perhaps not well enough, but I've searched for hours. I am having trouble confirming if there are traces of root or flashing AFTER I flash stock rom, and if so, how I would remove them. I haven't seen anything in regards to that. If you could kindly guide me to the answer that eludes me, that would be most appreciated.
From my understanding if you flash back to stock firmware for your model you'll be completely fine.
