Dear All,
Here you can post all your complaints, spam, requests, noob questions related to DX8.
Respect the developers, keep the original thread clean!
What can you post here?
-Anything related to DiXperia8
-All noob questions
-Any Issue You Can Think Of!
-Any suggestion, advice, opinion for DX8
What you should NOT post in development thread?
-Thanks, Thank you or +1 (just hit button THANKS if someone else helped you)
-Reporting the same bug that already been raised
-If you plan on downloading new release/the ROM (no need to mention, just download and report the bug)
-Asking DiKeJ for ETA of new release. Just sit back and wait!
1. ROM based on Semc Debrand Engine (thanks for Achotjan, without him DX8 won't even released )
2. There are 4 version of the last ROM - S-Style, Light, Gaming and Stock-based with possible 2.6.32.9 Kernel (we will see how development in KTG Team goes).
3. Every version have other destiny - and You are the person, who choose one!
Based on Android 2.3.7 with CM7.2 (3 version) and Android 2.3.4 without CM, Stock based with ports (1 version).
Mobile Bravia Engine.
xLoud.
Playstation Certificate.
Timescape.
Facebook & Twitter (and more).
Track ID.
Music in lockscreen (and changing it with volume control buttons)
Walkman music app from ICS update for Xperia NXT (big thanks for w4lkm4n ).
Xperia Sola Keyboard (with voice options).
KGSL Drivers (at least in S-Style, Light and Gaming).
Create Yourself ™ - my own idea. You've seen this in all DiXperias - it's something like "you choose stuff and version you like, and if you need something, you just apply this like extra file. No need to delete tons of apps you don't using and won't" - it's simple, fast, and has potential .
Different themes, depends on version of ROM (see screenshots), Xperia S like, more brightness, some Gaming crazy .
Apps and firmware taken from Xperia S stuff, ports etc. (music, lockscreen, widgets, home, font etc.).
Scripts, tricks, tweaks - they promise lot of fun, lot of performance and lot of stability ^^.
S-Style version - |Beautiful|
For everything - tons of files are here, you have great stability, good performance, it's nice for simple 2D games, awesome for business and everyday use. Few things are optional.
SCREENSHOTS
Light version - |Simple|
It has DiKeJ's theme (I know not all people like brightness or light-blue, and we're really sorry about it), with usefull apps inside ROM. Good for gaming, if you delete some hungry applications. If you don't want games, it has sort of addons, to make this version much complete for everyone - like Create Yourself ™ should do ^^. Much clean than S-Style, for everyday use and more. Test yourself!
SCREENSHOTS
Gaming version - |Fast|
DiKeJ tried to make something like real gaming adventure and you can see this in attached screenshots. Need to say this one is for Premium Users only, but it will be the same as DiXperia Gaming, or better! Of course ROM for enthusiasts of gaming. Not much addons, just required like Google stuff to download games, standard SE apps for making this best possible stable, but the most important is the performance inside this version - unleash your X10
SCREENSHOTS
Stock-based version - |Stable|
This one will be based on Stock 2.3.3 with 2.3.4 features from 2011 line and 2.3.7 firmware files from Xperia 2012 line. This should offer 100% stability without any FCs, with fully working camera and camocorder. It's good for everything, it's something like S-Style version, but for people who don't have unlocked Bootloaders, that's why that version appear. make.believe . Possible 2.6.32.9 Kernel, if will be stable and 100% working (it's future plan). For now you can choose any Kernel for 2.3.3 you want. <- UPDATE - Kernel is included, and I won't use 2.6.32, cause it's not stable as I thought it will be when this version will hit. But there is very fast, good and stable 2.6.29.6.
SCREENSHOTS
S-Style version - |Beautiful|
Light version - |Simple|
Stock-based version - |Stable|

Flash the wifi module for the respective kernel you are using.
Please don't write anything right now - this thread will be for discussion ONLY for 4 version of DiXperia 8 - not for all DiXperias. If you have problem about older relases, please write in theirs development threads. Me, lakshay03, and soon some other 2 persons (we're looking for) will help you here, after DX8 relase. Thanks for everything everyone ^^.
A look on the S-Style version :

If you mean to say that "If you can flash Dixperia7 with DooMKerneL then YES ! You can flash it with DooMKerneL V6. I have tried it myself
Norair, did I said something? Please don't write here for now, or I will need to contact colossus to close this thread for now - I want a clear DX8 (not 7) discussoion and support thread. Please read a little more - you can ask anything about DX7 on development thread.

Sorry but i mean : I have now Dixperia 7 with DoomKernel...
and when the DX8 comes out can I just download it and flash it over my DX7 ??
that was my question
and sorry for bad english
No, you can't - DX8 (at least 3 of 4 versions) based on other sources, maybe Stock-based version will be compatible with flash over DX7 but 100% not S-Style, Light, or Gaming. Please stop posting here right now. ^^

Some sweet info here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27010206&postcount=1
Hi All,
As promised by DiKeJ I got to test the S-Style and the Light version of the ROMS before everyone else, as I was the winner of the contest
DiKeJ provided me with the links yesterday, and here is the review for you guys, as promised by me.
Both the ROMS are AMAZING, FANTASTIC, FLAWLESS, AWESOME.
I have flashed almost every XperiaS themed ROM available for us, and so far this is the BEST. Its ULTRA-FAST, have so many options, and I loved its LOCKSCREEN. I tried each and every option available, but there is nothing such as LAG present in both the roms.
The ROM is as defined by its subtitle "EXTRAORDINARY".
Hats-off and a big THANK YOU to DiKeJ for providing us with such great roms.
Keep your fingers crossed guys, the roms are gonna come your way SOON !
Short, right and beatiful review, my friend . Thanks for info, now I know that Premium Users gets S-Style and Light one week after You, so 13th June. Remember to flash every addons to test if everything is working (or maybe you've made it? ).
Ooh never tried a dikej Rom but sounds spectacular.does it have EDT tweaks.and what's the notification bar like?

FYI : Unofficial OC kernels work great with our rom, but as it's base is mainly Official CM7 the un-official kernel will break Bluetooth & torch app (official)... I do not have need of those apps so I use "TheAceKernel" Beta4 by @Skynet_28... It makes this rom run at something close to light speed, for real peeps... AFAIK there is no OC kernel fully compatible with Official CM7 yet. If there is then please let me know ok...

interesting.. any benchmark figures?
as an aside, not sure i understand the point in putting trial versions of software in a rom, ie. keyboard, music player and ram manager pro (?), doesnt serve any purpose in keeping it "lite", means people either just have to uninstall stuff or buy it.

Bro, check out our official Blog... You won't be dissapointed
I helped with alpha and beta testing on the ROM and believe me guys, it is worth a try, if you check on our FB page you would see some of the early benchmarks, also I uploaded a video of the Alpha1 version and it was smooth as silk.
Give it a try, you won't be disappointed
UPDATE:
Guys just a heads up...I noticed that Reaper did not mention the following:
1. At first boot enter the "SpeedUp" app and select "Fastest Speed" then choose exit.
2. Open up RAM Manger and select Balanced - More Free memory
And you are good to go. You don't need to do this after reboots, the settings are saved

No doubt one of the fastest roms. 2D performance is great.
Though, you should really NOT use superSU. At boot it's a *****, slowing the phone to beyond a simple lag.
Also, bounce animation is jerky, if you're wanting a custom animation I'd suggest fly in or blur.

Hi @consegregate... your comments are really appreciated... I wondered about SuperSU against SuperUser & I have also noticed that at boot phone will only complete initialization after SuperSU has asked for its permissions & not before, which can as you pointed out, take an age...
I have got a new project "The Minimalist" rom due for release soon (just tidying things up a bit)... This has been a solo project as @VRD1 now has full time employment (no time for deving)... I have tried to implement everything I have learned into this project & performance tests show my next rom to be the fastest yet with great multi-tasking capabilities...
Bounce animations have been ditched in favor of "Rudolph" which is very smooth in my rom...
Stay tuned... RC1 due for release soon...
Again, thanx for positive comments... It tells me I am doing things right, hehehe...
Stay Breezy n Be Lucky... :silly:

I would really love a de-TW SM-705!! TW is cropping our wings, I can see just using Nova a better result. But TW code is what limits our wondeful tablet IMHO.

I am sure of that No problem I think a good code-diet it'll be enoght
TW is in the deep core of Samsung code and that is why they make Ferrari run as a Fiat 500
To which extend does TW charge the load (if you use a different launcher)?
I dont think we need debloating, even if you completely empty it & only left messaging and phone you still have 2gb of consumed ram and stuttering when juggling apps. We need optimizing tweaks, kernels etc.,

Could you elaborate?
How is TW related to other Samsung software and to which extend does it affect the performance?
I would assume TW is only a launcher and does not affect anything else. If you replace it and don't load it also RAM shouldn't be consumed.

IF it was a just a launcher you are absolutely right and we can just use, for ex, Nova and we will be ok. But, in this case, it is also very easy to "debloat" from TW the ROM. The code of TW is present in the deep core of ANY Samsung ROMs: for example in the Google edition S4 there is the TW code even if there is not the TW app itself. To create a "Google edition" Samsung had to "masquerade" and/or to hidden a part of his code.
Using a launcher as Nova, for example, we get a faster UI but this does not mean we are free from TW code. I am not a developer, our guest Edan1979 is and so, if you wish to have a strict technical explanation about which part of code is and where I think he can explain it in a more technical way than me. I speak as I collaborate with some devs and I can report what my friends tell me.
a layman term... the code is embedded in the framework itself... so to de-tw it fully is like making a totally new framework... that my friend is nuts... hahahaha...
hmmm... look like the init.d is not working in previous version.... going to fix it up... no wonder the performance tweak is not running...
any way you guys can download Universal Init.d apps from playstore and use it to enable the init.d
Hey guys! Guess what? I'm currently busy on porting the Android N Developer Preview 2 ROM from the Xperia Z3 to Z2! Hope this turns out stable!
Here is the Download link to the ROM below:
Mediafire: http://www.mediafire.com/folder/hp8fnbbxkbb4f/Android N Xperia Z2
IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!
For anyone or everyone saying that I'm, or that this OP is a troll, please stop. This is a WIP, and the ROM did indeed work (when I still had my PC.) I did follow a ROM port guide the first time when it was successful, but now I don't know which one it is. I have contacted some ROM porters for help so I guess that I should wait for an answer to let them help me port it. And for this ROM, it's NOT for stable use yet. This is just for people wanting to test and see if it works at all. If you have your PC at the moment then please and try to fix it yourself. (I'll add you to credits.) Anyway, sorry about the inconvenience, but please don't call me a troll becuase I'm not! Cheers.
BUT BEFORE DOWNLOAD, READ THE STEPS BELOW. I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DEVICE BRICKS ETC. THIS ROM IS FOR UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER PHONES ONLY HAVING MODEL NUMBER OF D6503.
Better safe then sorry. Create a ROM backup of your device in TWRP before installing the ROM in Recovery! Download ZipMe from the Play Store to backup some of your important data!
1: Download all of the files that you want to flash from the link given above and place them in the Root of your sdcard.
3: Download the updater-script FOR ROM FIX file and rename the file to updater-script.
4: Extract the ROM and replace the updater-script from the one you downloaded earlier with the one in the ROM (META-INF/google/com/android folder I think.). REZIP the ROM.
5: Reboot into recovery. Click on Wipe then "Adcanced Wipe." Wipe Dalvik Cache, Cach, System, Data, and Internal Storage.
6: Go back after finished. Flash the Android N ROM, then the Optional files. (Root, Media Apps, & And Smoother Boot Animation, backed up data etc.)
7: Flash the custom Kernel. (Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development/kernel-advanced-stock-kernel-t3347413)
8: Reboot and Enjoy!!!
If anything isn't working or your stuck in a bootloop, try and flash the bootloop fix file from here: https://mega.nz/#!AJcwERiQ!FUmk6eS5aoVsFSZ1f4WZIELIt7sckPCj11n0AIdCNzU
If your still stuck in a bootloop, then the ROM may not be compatible with your device. Use Flashtool to flash back to Lollipop/Marshmallow and wait for a ROM that's compatible with your Phone.

THANKS!!!
BTW this ROM is different from the one i installed. i have managed and tried to fix some issues like the camera, but if anything isn't working then just please report it. Thanks.!
Below Are Some Problems That You May Encounter.
-The Multi-Window is EXTREMELY laggy.
-Some apps don't work such as the Beta Program App Settings. (But then again, it's expected from a port. XD)
-Recovery (TWRP) may no longer work. You can try and install a Kernel and Recovery your self, but be sure to make a Backup before risking your phone into a Bootloop.
-My Bootloader is unlocked, so I HIGHLY recommend only flashing this ROM if you have a Unlocked Bootloader. If not, wait for a Locked Bootloader version!
-No more Sony Media Apps (Walkman Music, Album, Video etc.) after flashing ROM, so flash the Sony Media Apps zip after ROM to restore the Media Apps.
-The Boot Animation is EXTREMLY slow and laggy, (5-8fps) so please flash the Smoother Boot Animation zip after ROM flashed to ensure a smoother, 30fps Boot Animation.
I haven't encountered any other problems as of now, but I will update the list if I find a bug! And once I receive a problem or bug, I will try to patch it and upload it as a Flashable zip file to fix the bug. A Screenshot of Home Screen from Z2 Android N ROM is attached below...
Once the link is given and doesn't work on your device, just tell me the problem that it's going through, give me your device details, (LB or UB device, Model number, IMEI etc.) and I'll double check the ROM and will try to make supported for your device!
As you can see in the screenshot attachment down below, i have changed some of my icons (like the app icons and status bar icons) back to stock Xperia. I wasn't a BIG fan of all of the AOSP icons.

The upload link will be available around 3 May 2016 since i can't upload now due to TERRIBLE Upload speed. next week will have access to much faster upload speeds and I will upload the download link then. Thanks for comment!
Will it work on LB also?

Bro, once you got the zip ready and uploaded, I can help uploading it to other sites like mega or drive as well. Just hit me up or allow me. My internet is fast AF. The work you're doing here is outstanding.

The ROM is working pretty good so far. It isn't 100% fast and stable but it works pretty well. For the bugs, the camera is most of the time unresponsive (Probably because I forgot to change the camera settings and stuff before installing it.) The camera also sometimes force closes. As for the Multi-Window, it's almost totally unusable but I think this is because of the CPU and not the ROM. And some apps also don't work at all, such as the Beta Program App Settings, The Notification bar glitching too small etc. Hopefully i will fix these bugs before final upload! Fingers crossed. X0

Download the FTF via Xperifirm. MM's version number ends in .570.
Then flash using Flashtool. You can choose to wipe or not to wipe data if you're coming from stock lollipop. Just uncheck 'wipe data'. If you follow the steps properly, you should have a smooth upgrade to MM!
Also - could you release a version without the edited status bar icons etc?
Multiwindow maybe working when edit buildprop debug to userdebug ?
This is crazy, only few weeks after the official mm ROM we be gettin Android N. I'm hella shocked right now. We own it to my bruh Brandon

good job!!!
Hi. First thank you for doing this.
You could provide us some information what you did with the N Z3 build to make it work on Z2 so we can reproduce it. I guess you used the Z3 system image and replaced the kernel with a Z2 one. What else was needed to make it work?
Thank you very much.

So... Before one year, we were excited about getting "Nougat" and now we're talking about "Oreo" Isn't amazing?
I decided, again lol, to make a new thread about the new version of Android. I read the last few comments in nougat thread but I think will be more organized and clear if there is a new thread about it. For now, we only have one rom - Unofficial version of LineageOS but I have a good feeling about this. Soon, when everything becomes, one idea more stable, the rest will follow :fingers-crossed: . I will try to keep updated this thread with everything around Oreo
PS:
Currently, I'm completely stock so I didn't test any of the stuff below. As always, do a backup before you try anything.

You can find it in Settings - apps & notifications - advanced - special app access - picture-in-picture. If you try to use Google maps and press the home button you will see its already working. And no, you cant use it for YouTube app but works with videos from Google Chrome that are not from YouTube.

Bugs you may meet in Oreo: Some users report that those things don't work, or may happen to you:
-Video recording ---> Works ONLY with Footej Camera
-Memory Card Bug
Each time restart phone it asks for setting up memory card which never goes away. The simple solution for this headache is to pause the notification for 2 hours by swiping notification.
PS:
Advice 1:
This may help CLICK
Advice 2:
Format your SD Card as Internal memory and you won't see any notification.
-Black screen while listening to music and trying to unlock the phone or simply when to try to unlock it
-HTC Duo Camera. Don't ask about this feature. It doesn't work on any LineageOS/AOSP based rom. Stock rom and GPE only.
PS:
Make a backup before you try anything.Need to be on the last version of the firmware (Marshmallow), and use the last version of twrp recovery - 3.2.1.0 to avoid any issues.
Wow! A new thread to keep it organized and clean. Long live m8!
Yes, this is great. Organized stuff is always good
When I bought this phone I knew perfectly well about spending too much money but today after more than 3 years I continue to be convinced I have spent my money well. In part I have this to this great community and to these wonderful developers .... welcome Oreo.

Last night I tested LOS 15. I can't belive how fast is it and smooth. It's even faster than Nougat. I even was wondering to try to stay with it xD But then random reboots start happening so ... I guess we will wait a litte bit xD Anyway my point was it's look very promising and its very good for alpha .
I hope you got logs of those random reboots. I was using it for three days and didn't suffer from any reboot
I wanted to try oreo, but I'm a bit worried about system partition resize.

So I wanted to ask - If I get bored of oreo then I have to just flash my current rom(ice 8.2.2.) and then restore the nandroid backup or else restore will fail?

In TWRP go to WIPE then advance, select only SYSTEM then select repair or change file system menu. In this menu select resize partition, swipe to resize. Completed, main menu reboot - recovery
Your system partition back to normal .. you can restore your backup or install ROM
You also can do this right after you installed Oreo & gapps before you reboot. Later once you get bored, no need to repeat the process, simply restore backup or install other ROM

Last time I search I didn't find any working mod with Oreo, for now, other way I would put them in the first post. Can't say about the footej, any error?
As of now there's no audio mods that I've found to be compatible with LOS 15. I've tried all forms of V4Android, V4Arise, Deuteronomy, Ainur, Magnum Opus, HK, LITERALLY anything and everything I can find has been flashed trying to find a solution for us. Spent over 24 hours flashing mods to get bootloops or FC's. LOS 15 audio quality is good but I want the best possible sound as I listen to music on different devices "daily". I'll update here when I find something compatible or the normal mods are updated. If anyone knows of something "working" it would be great it you shared. Thanks

I don't think any audio mod will work for now until devices where the audio mod are taken from are updated/released with Oreo.
Any equalizer app in Play Store won't work too, complaining no AudioFX to work with.
A friend with N6P on stock Oreo has same problem, so it is not only M8 issue.

Nope as their previous release broke my gps app & also the mod made the black screen issue worse, frequent instead of random.
