New battery - Desire HD General

Had my HD 18 months now and while the phone is immaculate condition(always had a cover and SP) on ,the battery has taken some stick and I'm not at the stage where it needs charged everyday, going to be selling it at the end of the months so looking for a decent replacement battery to put in prior to selling .Any suggestions for UK suppliers

Just find a place to get an OEM battery.

Go for a Muggen Battery. It has a 1500mAh rating

Don't do this, you'll be overpaying and not getting oem capacity by a long shot.

I'd personally recommend an anker battery. I got two for 16 dollars and equal if not better than the OEM I had

New HTC Batteries

Since HTC refreshed its product line we have seen the new 1450mAh batteries coming out in the market. Does that mean we can expect a bigger and powerful battery from HTC that supports the DHD ?
That would be great, does anybody know?
Look at eBay there is loads of sellers who selling 1600mA batteries for DHD.
I hope they're of the same unibody design so we have a chance to use it on Dhd, seriously a bit ridiculous that only dhd has to be released with such a pathetic battery -.- even galaxy S2 has a 1600 mAh battery!

There have been many comments in the DHD forums on these cheap ebay batteries.
At best, they don't actually have the capacity stated (ie a 1600mA battery will not last as long as a genuine HTC battery)
At worst, some of these cheap batteries could overheat, rupture or even explode whilst charging. Goodbye DHD.
So try them at your own risk....

Waiting on original HTC made batteries for the DHD.
Anyone using a 1600 from ebay ?
Yes i am using a 1600mAh battery from ebay.
No issue so far.
You could use currenwidget to find out about the battery and its capacity.
I have a charger for battery packs that has that function (capacity checking) but its only for Nimh unfortunatly.
Stock battery lasts a day using a decent ROM so why risk your phone on a dodge ebay special?

Mugen 1800mah 3600mah for Huawei IDEOS X5

Is there any reviews or user feedback available now:

HLI-HB4F1 1800mah for Huawei IDEOS X5

Very interested in these batterys.
Whats the warranty and how long would it take to ship to Aus?
If the picture's anything to go by, this guy's selling the OEM battery on eBay for under $20 including postage.
Doing a search on eBay for "HB4F1" (the battery code) yields many cheaper results, though their photos indicate that they're aftermarket rather than the original.
If you do decide to buy one, I'd suggest you refrain from leaving feedback until you've had a chance to test it for a few days to confirm that you're getting at least the same life as you got with your original battery.
Based on past experience (with other 'phones), you'll never get anywhere near the rated capacity with "no-name" (and in "no-name" I also include Mugen et al) batteries; they're really only good for emergency back-ups rather than replacing your existing battery. And you'll NEVER get more than the OEM battery's capacity, no matter what the aftermarket manufacturers tell you.

$99 is very pricy for a phone that costs ~$300. AND the the phone becomes bulkier, no thanks.
$99 for one battery? I prefer buy 3 or 4 standard bateries and swap when they gets empty lol
I would love to have one of these especially the 3600 mah
ive heard that 1800mah is something like failure or fake, it doesnt last that longer than the 1500mah one. also except that the 3600mah is soooo fat i think its really expensive also considering the fact that it might be used and of course not certified
I buyed two of this batteries. My batteries production date 1,5 year ago and it's lighter than orginal battery. These batteries are waiting for emergency call (if orginal batter empty in a emergency situation) I never charged them and i dont know performance. I am just tested them on my phone. They are %50 charged and phone can working with them.
Have they the same size as a normal one?
the site shows a big back cover.
Nope, they are fat fat that's why they had custom back cover.

Aftermarket Battery + Charger

Hello all,
I just moved and lost my extra Sammy battery external charger....UGH. I've LOVED never having to charge my phone itself.
Just curious if anyone has tried any of the aftermarket options on ebay or elsewhere and can vouch for them. I know they may not perform quite as well as the OEM pair, but if they are comparable, it would be pretty good bang for the buck.
Thanks for any input!
From what I've seen the Yoobao 2800mAh is a good battery. It looks like the 3500mAh's aren't really 3500 and just have a different sticker. From everything I've read it looks like the Yoobao is what to go with. I'm actually going to order one today.
As far as a charger, I have the oem charger, and I have the Sprint charger (traveler charger plus) that charges it's battery pack from the wall, and then you can unplug it from the wall and carry it with you. I can generally get about half of a full charge (while using it) without it being plugged into the wall.
[edit] I think this should be in Q and A?
I'd go with Amazon.
I've tried the very cheap knockoffs (batteries and chargers). They do not perform as well as as the Samsung-branded OEM combo, which is available on Amazon in Samsung retail packaging for about $25 plus shipping.
I got a review in the Accessory section on one. Been working awesome for me for months now.

If you are looking for a battery, by far the best deal is the one in my sig for capacity/price. The best battery by far in capacity/size is the OEM battery.

Just a couple of questions about the 3500 mAh battery and the charge dock:
1. Can the 3500 mAh battery charge in that external charger (ie outside of the phone in the charger bay).
2. If you use the dock with the phone upright, does it block speaker sound coming out of it from the back, since plan on using it next to my bed and my phone is also my alarm clock.
Thanks!
The blackberry chargers are awesome.

That external charger works with all batteries including the extended batteries. The dock blocks a little of the sound, but its not completely muffled.

Thanks all for the replies, I'll have to decide what I want to do.
I like the Yoo Bao 2800mah. I can charge it to full, leave 3g on all day and still have half battery about 16-18 hours later.
want bang for your buck, here you go: http://www.spider-foot.com/2x-batte...ate-vibrant-i9000-galaxy-s-gsi902b-p-738.html
been using it for many months rotating between 3 batteries and it still working very well, almost as good as the OEM

That's what I'm talking about. I may be picking this up if you have 3 mo good track record.
I don't care for anything that makes my phone any larger than it already is =]

[Q] battery life

Any way to bring a battery back up to spec? I was thinking about bump charging my phone repeatedly. I'm a heavy phone user and the battery doesn't last more than 3 hours anymore if that. I'm planning on giving the phone to a friend, but don't want them to have to buy a new battery right away.

Battery replacements are cheap. I replaced my bh5x with 2 bh6x extended batteries for about $25 with the new extended battery cover. Replacing with bh5x should be even cheaper.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
The bh5x is $5. Just buy it. L-ion batteries are only supposed to last a year. And bump charging will only destroy it even more. Dont ever try any of those tricks they dont work and only destroy your battery.

What could be a good battery for Defy?

Hi my original battery of Defy is dying. It won't last for half a day. I am planning to get a new one. There are all kinds of batteries on ebay, 1500mah, 1700mah, 1930mah, 2200mah.... I don't want to lose water-resistant so I just want a battery replacement can last long with it. Which is the best choice? I know some of these volumes are fake so the largest number is not always the best choice...

hi, just buy the official battery of your defy
I bought a Polarcell 1600 mAh on ebay. I measured 1570 mAh, which is close enough.
It does have two problems, though. It underreports its capacity (1140 instead of 1600 mAh), and the temperature jumps between 24 and 26 C no matter what the real battery temperature is.
Buy the original battery , If possible purchase the battery a official reseller , On Ebay there are many false
try MUGEN

thanks, will try it
lesson:
1. buy original motorola, try reliable un-official channel if too expensive.
2. buy 3rd party reputable.
3. avoid any has the same size as original but claims significantly higher capacity.
4. avoid batteries that sell for 1/5 the price of an original or 3rd party, you're asking for troubles.
5. when shop on ebay, check seller ratings.
thx.
