[Q] Replacement volume button for Defy - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Forum,
I recently took my phone apart to replace the broken earpiece. Unfortunately, the plastic rocker button volume control got lost through a gap in my floorboards, so I wonder how possible it might be to source (or maybe improvise) a replacement.
Grateful for any responses.

[q] my motorola defy side button and power button is not working

My motorola defy side button and power button is not working ,i asked in motorola service center the guys tell it hard to get tat spare parts .i search e bay and other online site ,please guys help me to get tat defy spare parts buttons
Are you missing those buttons or are they just not working? 'cause if they are not working, you need to replace the motherboard, in order to get working buttons. Don't think it's worth it - better buy a new phone.

My Defy's volume up button stopped working some time ago. It was quite annoying as I used the volume buttons to unlock the phone. Some time later, I pressed the button really hard, and to my surprise is started working again. And like that I had my button back

It has nothing to do with the motherboard. There are soft silicon membranes in the cover for water resistance. These are wearing out after some time - always!
They can be replaced or you can make new ones by yourself. I did successfully.
After flooding mainly top of the phone, and cleaned in alcohol. Power button does not work Is it possible to exchange the key? Unauthorized GSM service can handle this?

[Help] Volume buttons dead, even after rocker replacement

My dhd volume buttons stopped working a while ago (unless u press really hard). I ordered a new button and it arrived a month later, now even with the new button, they r not working .
Also pushing the buttons with a pencil tip (without the volume rocker) still doesn't make it respond easily...almost completely dead
What am I supposed to do to fix it? DIY possible? Any suggestions are much appreciated.
Hey look buddy. I had the same problem and I have resolved it by replacing, by myself, the mother board were the volume buttons were attached . It's a DIY thing. Just order from ebay or any local mobile service parts from your country, the upper main board ( upper mother board ) and then search on youtube, how to disassemble the phone. Just to be very careful when you open up your phone because it's a little tricky, and remember the order of your steps.
Good luck !

[Q] bent volume button

I dropped my phone today and the volume button is bent and unusable. I find a replacement button for the i9500. Do you all think it will fit in my I337? I believe it might. Here is the link to the button: http://www.http://rounded.com/samsung-i9500-galaxy-s-4-volume-button-silver.html
Thanks in advance.

[Q] does the power button get scratched easily?

hi.
I just recently bought a brand new G2 and I want to use it without a case for some time.
My question is, since the power button is sticking out of the rest of the back (and does have most of the contact with the table or the surface the phone is on), can the power button be easily scratched from the surface?
Thanks.

Broken power button

Hello,
Recently I found my father's old Moto Defy and I think it would be nice as backup phone, considering it has cm7 available. It would be great if the power button worked, though. Is there anything I could do about that right now or would I have to replace whole motherboard for this phone to work?
mine fall off my hand and now doesn't work, I disassembly and the switch was slided, I manually moved back to front and i works, just for a short time. I guess it has to be soldering again... btw with CM you can unlock screen with volume keys
