You just broke the first rule...
The nightlies are made by Cyanogen...sigh.
Benefit of the doubt... maybe he means the completed CM7?
Well, just going by the fact that the Villain ROM is kanged from CM, I'd put my money on CM7.0.0.0 dropping first.

First rule of CM is that you don't ask for ETAs.
Hi folks,
Im sorry that this is a silly question, but I have been attempting to look for the next update of CM7.2-RC1 since 14-Mar at here:
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=olympus
But I saw only the ninghtly versions that show as CM7 (not CM7.2, I mean)
Because that they were added into the same download link with the CM7.2-RC1, so I am wondering whether they are the newest updates of it, I mean the 19-Apr and the 21-Apr releases?
Please excuse me if this is a repeated question as somwhere. Many thanks in advance.

Thanks, but your reply does not make me be clear. I know that is the latest update of nightly series. But my question is, whether that 21-Apr nightly is the latest update of CM7.2-RC1?

In other words, my question is: Have been there the CM7.2-RC2, RC3, RC4...yet? And where is the official link I can check for the newest update of CM7.2 series? Thank you all in advance again.

The nightly is the latest version. No need to check further. I guess if you don't want to take my work for it, you can always check github for the latest changes.
That's the latest RC. Nightlies are the the only "most up to date" roms, but they aren't release candidates.
Edit: actually, RC2 is the latest I think. I'm searching on my phone so its kinda hard to find.

Double post sorry
WTF? There is no RC2 yet. RC1 is the latest "stable" release, and the nightlies are unstable snapshots from those dates with updates to RC1.

Thank you. So RC2 is not released yet and we just wait for it in short time, right? At meanwhile, I see that the nightly 21-Apr in the link on post #1 showed as CM7 instead of CM7.2. So could you advise me about this? How is this version comparing to the CM7.2-RC1?

What are you waiting for? RC1 is the Stable Release. There is probably no more development for CM7 on the Atrix. RC1 is very stable and fully functional. I think you even have fingerprint thanks to the Atrix team.
If you want something different, there are some CM7 variants such as MIUI, Ligux and Mokee.
All development now is in ICS which is basically waiting on Moto to release ICS drivers and kernels. Until then you will not have a fully functioning ROM although the devs have done some awesome work with what they have.
Enjoy CM7 as it is a great ROM for the Atrix.
I am running Morrisoft Gen V0.9 based on CM7 nightly April 9th 2012. It is fast and smooth. I have not experienced any bugs yet. You can give it a try.
edited for dumb question removal. lol
The CM7 nightly released 4-21 (20120420) is more stable than the RC1 so far.
the RC1 fingerlock would stop working if you unselected usb debugging and you would be totally locked out unless you rewiped. It also would constantly random reboot as well as reboot on incoming calls.
The latest nightly so far fixed all that. Yeah I wish there was a newer official release but i guess they are going to CM9 now. But like the e07015 said, moto has not released the drivers and kernels for ics so there wont be any official CM9 release anytime soon. :/
I'm fine with cm7 if it stays stable, crossing my finger. Its WAYYYYY faster and better than motoblurSUCK!

ICS, we hardly knew ye.
Builds for CyanogenMod 9 stable will be rolling out to our servers tonight. As noted before, this will be the end of the line for the ICS branch of our code; only critical bug fixes will be merged moving forward.
As a note, the maguro build from this morning was not meant to be linked publicly. Maguro’s build this evening will be marked 9.0.0.1 to be on par with the other 9.0.0 releases.
Tonight’s release is for the majority of our ICS supported devices, the stragglers will catch up, and we will leave the door open for merging in additional devices from maintainers, external and internal. The team itself, will focus solely on Jelly Bean and maintenance of the CM 7 codebase.
Many have wondered why we bothered to finish CM 9 when we are already active in CM 10 development. To that, our answer is: we don’t like to leave things incomplete. There is no profit gained from what we do, so the satisfaction of completing a goal is our only reward. This release also serves as a release suitable for the masses, especially those who won’t have 100% functioning releases of CM 10 immediately or are averse to anything branded as ‘preview’, ‘alpha’, ‘beta’ or ‘nightly’.
On the topic of nightlies, this release also serves as an end to our CM 9 nightlies, to make way for nightlies chock full of Jelly Bean goodness. A follow-up post will be made when we enable those builds.
Smh. And this in development why?
Good job

JB nightlies start today !!
Okay...I may have missed a post or two....but I am just wondering why CM9 and AOKP have both been discontinued before a stable release of CM10...
it seems kind of unusual to do stuff like that...i dunno, i'm not trying to say you guys aren't doing things right or anything...i'm just confused...
Cm9 is not discontinued.
Eyeballer's nightlies are still active.
Only some other projects stopped.
Cm10 sure still need a lot of time till it gets stable.

Sam's build was just that...a build. He had it automated to sync up source, build, and provide to everyone. Eyeballer's build are still going I believe, and you can always learn to build from source. There is still code being submitted for ICS as well as JB.
gracias you guys...
like i said, i missed a couple posts and it was merely a wandering thought that i could not find an answer to...so thank you
:laugh:GAH! nevermind. browser messed up and did not load the page. Or Im an idiot. Question already answered.
I know this is a development forum, but I wanted to raise attention for the new build of CM 7 with continuous update,I like the CM 9.10 work here but I think they need more work to be ready for daily use.
so I strongly recommend the new CM 7

Any important changelog? The last 7.2 stable is quite stable
http://changelog.bbqdroid.org/#legend/cm7/next
but it is till 15/11
I am using the nightlies for some time now, from http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?type=nightly&device=legend. However, I was wondering what the changes in the last nightly are, filesize is different from previous, but changelog says No changes.
Anybody knows?

Last nightly from March 1st, it's no longer building them?
There's really no more point in CM7 nightlies if no more features are going to be announced and added to CM7 legacy devices. Unfortunately, users of these devices are content with CM7 as they are or else they'd buy a more powerful device, given how it's >3 years old.
I guess the nightlies until March were meant as flexibility to those unable to run the CM7 stable series.
As much as I'd hate to say it, if you want more out of Android and custom ROMs, I guess you're going to have to upgrade.
