Hello everyone!!
I want if anyone can help me to unbrick xperia x8!!
My phone stucked in SE logo...
I m trying with this flash tool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
i need firmwares of x8.. 2.1 or 1.6
.ftf extension files..
i downloaded them, but they are in .zip file ..
most of them extensions are .sin .
So i need an .ftf file, which is 2.1 or 1.6 ..
where i can find them? or creating them by those i dowloaded here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875688
Anyone can help???????
repair it through PCCompanion, if it doesn't recognize your phone, unplug the phone from PC click repair in PCC and follow the instruction, don't worry u don't need to do all that things
Your phone is not bricked just stuck in boot loop.
Just repair your phone using SEUS
google it if you don't know what it is.
Flash tool needs .sin files only unless I am mistaken( I have an old version of flash tool)
And post these questions in general forum next time.
Sent from my X8
the phone its my girlfriend.. and she freaked out!
i made an .ftf file similar to x10, but with x8 files..
and i m curently trying to flash the firmware with the flashtool of b1nary..
i think the process stucked btw..
i will wait a bit more.
i cant do it with pc companion because the phone has to be turned on before seet it to bootloader ..
SEUS can do this?
EDIT: the phone now after the SE logo, has a warning triangle and a phone next to it.. :S :S
Do it with SEUS - Sony Ericsson Update Service. You turn on the program, choose your device, download OS (automatic) and then it asks you to flash your device, so there's no need of turning it on whatsoever
many thanks, all of you guys.. i m just a noob..
PC Companion didn't let me..
But SEUS did it!! The phone started okay!!!
I thought the SEUS was the same with PC companion..
Many many thanks
mods, erase the whole thread if you like, but please put in a little corner, of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=921652
that if we stuck on SE logo, just use SEUS instead of PC companion!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=938751
Pc companion can fix it with the repair option (somebody already told it). I had the same problem and that was how i fix it.
Sorry for saying this but the are 3-4 topics with exactly the same question in the general of x8.
Search a little and the post. You will find an answer faster too this way.
Yours, GreatApo

If you already download the Official Firmware in .sin format, use flashtool.
click advanced, and choose bundle creation. choose the folder where the .sin files are located, then click ok, then move the files from left box to the right one, then fill the box in the upper right, the value is up to you, then click ok.
then flash it.
done.
boot the phone, wait

ive just downgrade my firmware using flash toll 3.0 now it wont boot.\
sorry for my bad english...
thanks
Download some room, move to sd card, turn on the phone, enter to recovery,to full wipe and install custom zip

i know there are threads on unbricking i have 64 bit windows 7 laptop and seus and pc companion are not working to fix the boot loop on my phone.
i heard of flash tool and all that but it sounds complicated because in the boot loop i cant access the phone to add rom and bin files
.is there any simple solution as in can i do something with the x8 recovery mode
how do you mean, that seus not working?
do you reach the xrecovery? flash tool isnt complicated, just download flashtool and rom, and paste rom in flashtools firmware dir, and press on flash. not a big deal.
thx aerosmith ,seus isnt working because its incompatible then it says update failed and cant install files some other times.is flashtool easy.what did you mean to copy the files somewhere.i cant access the android file system because of this boot loop problem i have.do i put phone into recovery and then click flash on the flash tool
xrecovery thats the custom recovery console ,no i dont have that its the blank screen recovery mode
nvm this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011071
look at this thread. download flashtool to your pc.
unpack.
Download 2.1 generic firmware.
copy this firmware to flashtool firmware folder, and flash it.
thx again ,which rom to get
X8 Shakira E15i_2.1.1.A.0.6_generic.ftf
X8_1.6_clear.ftf
X8_2.0.2_China.ftf
SE x8_2.1_rus.ftf
Also last question what is the baseband download for

the first one,(X8 Shakira E15i_2.1.1.A.0.6_generic.ftf), just try to flash the rom, you doesnt need the baseband now.
lol that seems less confusing the way you put it.
dont look at the basebands. i took one look at the page and its confussing
because i dont have any of those numbers at the back of my phone and
it mentions loss of signal strength and even more booyt loops
. promise : kinda last question what is basebands for and do i need them for flashtool and how to find out the baseband

i dont have any of those numbers too, but ist working. There are everything you need to repair your phone, Just download flasher and rom, and flash it. I know what i am talking. you dont need it. i think the X8 Shakira E15i_2.1.1.A.0.6_generic.ftf rom has the latest baseband, but if its not, it doesnt matter now, it just an upgrade. if you flash the rom, and your phone starts, you can watch the baseband, and flash it later.
have you done this before what does this rom do as in how does it differ from the pre installed experia rom. so the rom has the baseband in it.i think you can add the baseband later.
im downloading the rom now ill post if it works.
yes, ive done this before. this is a generic factory sony ericsson rom, this is the same rom that was on your phone when you bought it. the rom has a baseband, its 100%.
i f***** give up .talkng about bad luck got this phone after three days and its bricked by its own fault not from rooting also today my pc comppanion and se update dont work so im trying flasher and guess what the five mirrors for the firmware dont work even in premium link generators
what other rom image is good besides X8 Shakira E15i_2.1.1.A.0.6_generic.ftf
because every download i try it gets stuck on 21 mb because of the firefox default download manager idk
i downloaded it 2 days before, and it worked, then try the 2.1 russian rom.
Try this: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?y3pldh7nd1kdb58
It's from baseband thread folder, I've never tried it, but it might work.
ive tried it before, Its working.
good news.
i got the phone unbricked with the pc companion after 3 hours on a new laptop.with the pc companion it made the phone worse with an erorr hazard message instead of the boot loop.
so after 20 attempts the pc companion started updating through recovery mode.
whats an easy way to get xrecovery on the phone and does the update have the app2sd feature because thats what i think messed up the phone with the phones being installed on the phone partition.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859571
As for app2sd - flash some custom ROM in xrecovery, they all have app2sd installed by default I use miniCM and it works perfectly
Thanx graveir.wasn't that your post on unbricking x8 .excellent thread
for me, flash it using PCCompanion, easiest way i think, just hold the back button and wait..
PS: if you already have the 2.1 firmware

Could you please tell me how to find the "steps"?

SEUS.. go and download Update_Service_Setup-2.11.5.6.exe.
So if you ruin your system somehow you can actually restore it from the official SE software?
if thats the case I might actually pluck up the courage to mod mine >.<

I can live with having to reinstall apps. I'm just surprised it'll actually fix a bootloop. That's really good! So as long as it switches on, you can bugger the system all you want and SEUS can factory restore it? Epic
Hi Iceman,
I also own an Xperia Arc with the same build and firmware version as you have. I successfully unlocked the bootloader, but after attempting to root, I cannot get past the SE logo. I cannot connect to the flashing tool (version 0.2.9.1) and I cannot connect to PC companion.
What can you suggest to unbrick my phone?
Thanks, Tom

You need to give more info as to how u attempted to root?
Did u flash back to 2.3.2 and then update OTA? That would cause it to brick .. Look for the tutorial on how to unbrick the unlocked OTA updated phones in the forum..
If you are unlocked you can simply flash one of the rooted images..again check for the tutorial thread.. there are a couple i think..
Hello everyone,
First: I am new to here so if I make mistakes please tell me, not yell
Ok,
I have installed GingerDX v23b on my Xperia X8 device (The last version developed by DX - don't remember his username) and was very happy with it. but I wanted the dual touch. It didn't work the way I wanted it to antil I've found a thread in FXP (a Israeli forum) which guided the installation of GingerDX v24 and dual touch.
I followed the instructions. I installed xRecovery and after that the DualTouch file.
AKA: htt p:// www .mediaf ire.com /?w5su i27ktb 6icj9
Installed the dualtouch, got back to the xRecovery main menu and pressed reboot.
Now my phone is stuck on the Sony Ericsson logo and I have no idea what to do.
So... I need help ASAP!!
Thanks in advanced,

Do you have sony ericsson update service?

Flash your kernel again and do a full wipe and flash your ROM....
GingerDX already got dual touch but if it is not working on you...then your digitizer is cypress and u can have real dual touch... search the forum and there are topics about bringing DT to GDX

well, downloaded it, running it right now and it's checking my phone.
seems to be stuck, I'll leave it running for a while.
thanks!

Hello,
erm,I think u should unlock the bootloader? before installing any costum Rom. and any kernel (ROM require costume kernel). ROM GingerDX v23b use stock kernel? i suggest u read carefully the thread, maybe u missed something. try reflash kernel (if u already unlock bootloader) or repair with SEUS and start over again. it happend to me when i flash costum rom that need costum kernel. or maybe u need to flash it with CWM, not xRecovery?
Do enlighten me if im wrong.
Peace,
you dont need to change the kernel to install Ginger DX.
Is the recovery coming on when you press the back key at the logo?
If so, you can reflash the ROM.
if not, use the flashtool to burn a new firmware or you might even be able to connect the phone to SEUS and flash the stock firmware onto the phone.
i dont think you phone is bricked. it might be a software error.
cool down and read the "what you should do if you brick the phone" thread.

Try this THREAD first.
If it doesn't work, you'll have to restore your X8 to it's original state. Follow these instructions STEP BY STEP:
- On your PC, uninstall Sony PC Companion
- Restart your PC
- Reinstall Sony PC Companion by downloading it from here
- Turn off the phone, and unplug it from the PC
- Turn on Sony PC Companion on your PC
- In PC Companion, enter the Support Zone tab
- Go to Update Phone Software
A window will pop out, saying that it cannot find your phone
- Click on Fix Phone
- Click on Continue
A window will pop out, saying that you will lose all your data
- TICK the BOX
- Click on continue
An update process will began.
Wait for it to show a window with all the SONY mobile phones
- Find your phone (X8)
- Click on the phone.
Now all you have to do is follow the on-screen instructions. It will tell you to hold the back button and plug your turned-off X8 to the PC, then it will erase everything, and download the original 2.1 ROM to your X8.
You can try using flashtool. First reflash your kernel. Then try to flash the rom again using flashtool.

How bricked your phone is? Bootloop or complete brick.
You can try using sony pc companion to repair phone.
Also worth trying is flashtool and standard firmware tft via flashmode.
Did you flash the CM9 kernel?
Sent from my iPad 2 using Tapatalk
I bet it's Bootloop.Because he had forgotten to flash the kernel, cause of it's newbie
experience.Flash the correct kernel and it'll be alright.
Hi,
i too need help unbricking
i initially forgot to flash the kernel but thx to my efforts unbricking i cant flash a new kernel (fastboot says not rooted)
I used Flashtool to flash LT15i_4.0.2.A.0.42.ftf on the phone which did work but before i was "just" stuck at Sony Logo (Text only) and usb connection was permanent. Now it looks like its rebooting every ~20 sec logo disappears and appers a few secs later. The USB Connection is only present for about 1-2sec then it disconnects again.
Fastboot & Flash mode work.
CWM was installed (dunno if the IMG overwrote it.)
Somebody an idea how to get it running again?
Any Help is appreciated
Greetz
Chang
You dont need root to fastboot. Just flash a kernel or install the orginal frimware
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium
Okay....
i dont know WHY but i was able to flash the kernel now. dunno why it before always said error not rooted.
I'm flashing new rom now will edit in few minutes
