Partial Cracked Screen Fix (without replacing)

The bottom of my N7 screen cracked but the device is still very usable. The bottom half inch will not respond to touch, but everything above that point works just fine! I'm hoping for a way to expand my navigation bar size, or bump it up to leave my screen blank under it.. Any help will be greatly appreciated and I have some $ in PayPal as a thanks. Any help as in a ROM that allows a Nav Bar Resize.. A way to move it to the top of my tablet screen... Some way I can put a google search bar under it or anything to waste that space. Thanks for ideas, hoping to save my N7 and keep it usable without having to rotate it everytime I need that portion of my screen!

I could have sworn I've seen navbar mods somewhere. You could always consider using PIE controls, however, if you want to remap them to the left/right screen edges.
Thanks for the quick reply. Pie Controls is a very useful work around for now. The app would be amazing if it let me choose exactly where on the screen I could pull up the navigation bar, but even without that option it is a great help!
I've seen some Mods but all of them seem to shrink the Bar, not enlarge it.
The reason I want to extend the stock navigation bar isn't just to be able to touch the buttons but it also pushes all opened apps, my home screen, etc up past that point that is cracked... So while playing a game or in my options menus I would still be able touch the bottom of my screen, just above the navigation bar (which I can't do now.) Basically, the top of the Bar is the bottom of my touch screen and it isn't high enough for me to use the entire screen =(

LMT Launcher is a pie control interface. It allows you to open from anywhere on the left or right and you can setup gestures as well with it to do the navbar functions. Look it up here on xda.

[Q] Screen size (overscan) to large?

Anyone else have issues with things being oversized to where it doesn't fit onto the screen? I had CM recovery installed and you couldn't see all the letters. For example the word Recovery showed a small part of the e and then covery. I'm currently running Lollirock 2.1 and I can't see the status bar at the top and the nav bar at the bottom is a little off the screen too.
I have 2 different TVs and it does it on both :/ What else can I try?

I have the same problem. I even tried adjusting the TV's picture mode/zoom settings, but it still wasn't enough to compensate for the overscan.
Are there any system settings or build.prop tweaks that can help adjust for the overscan I'm getting with my device?
adb shell wm overscan a,b,c,d
a -> left edge margin
b -> top edge margin
c -> right edge margin
d -> bottom edge margin
I'm using UI tuner from play store and it works great...

Full screen mode

why don't all the apps and games and the videos use the notification area..they don't show up in full screen.. there's a border on that part.
That is a software issue...
May be fixed in next update of pie

Any way to move Navigation Bar to top of screen?

I have a 2019 model Tab A, running Android v9. I use the tablet in a stand which makes it difficult to access the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. Is there any way to move this to the top of the screen (or even to one of the sides)?
Me too, disaponting that no one could come up with a solution.

New update (11.0.2.2IN11AA) doesn't seem compatible with my Next Launcher 3D Launcher.

I have used this launcher for years, and love it. It worked perfectly as always until the last update. It still works, but the lower icons (phone, contacts, app drawer, SMS, & Chrome) move up about and inch from the bottom of the screen. I drag them back to the bottom, but they just move right back up. On the launcher home screen, I've basically lost the lower inch of my display to add apps. My background is there perfectly, just can't move any icons (to stay) into the lower inch.
Any ideas (besides try another launcher)???

I had the same thing.. You'll notice a gap at the bottom on several launchers.
CPL has been the only one that works as expected that I'd use.
Luckily in 4.4 it gives you the ability to remove the bar you see under the keyboard, it's around this time I noticed the issue with the gap on launchers like lawn chair.
How come you're only on 2.2?
Update to 4.4.
Besides that I can't see a way around it.. you could perhaps change the padding to accommodate the gap if that option exists.
That's the gap on mine.
The bar is there by choice btw
