Yes this procedure does not work for me either.
The real problem is that Android does not natively read the ID3 lyrics tag. So, I put in a new feature request that would give Android the ability to read ULT and USLT ( lyrics ) ID3 tags. This will allow the native and 3rd party music players to display lyrics, like the iOS and Windows Phone players currently can.
If you want this feature in Android, please star the request below:

thanks for the tip:good:
Try TuneWiki
TuneWiki can fetch lyrics and artwork online. It also has a basic tag editor. It has a pretty good database and a user community. You can edit the lyrics, change color, font, artwork, etc. It also has Song ID, like Shazaam.
But, the lyrics seem to be in a proprietary format and doesn't save to id3 lyrics tag. musiXmatch also seems good, but i couldn't test it as Google Play says it's incompatible wid my device.
It would have been better if there's an app that fetches metadata/tag info( including lyrics if possible) automatically from internet and save to music files. Do anybody know of such an app for Android?
Ugh musixmatch is a different app and it doesnt put lyrics on your mp3s..

It doesn't embed lyrics inside music files but it does show lyrics. It is similar to TuneWiki. These lyrics are synchronised too. But, the problem is that they don't save/embed lyrics with the music. It would have been better if they saved the lyrics in some format embedded or even as an external LRC for later use.
Minilyrics also seems to be good (For lyrics alone!). It claims to play both USLT( unsynchronised) and SYLT (synchronised) fields in ID3v2 tag and LRC. I don't know if the Android app can write tags( desktop one does). It's just a minimal player(even minimal than the stock player, i think) and doesn't have all the bells and whistles like the ones i mentioned above. If lyrics is your only thing go for it. But, i(and most others) want something which finds all the Album Art, metadata, and other Tag info. Anyway, the minilyrics app doesn't currently work in my device, says failed to read internet data. But, that's just me,i guess.
thanks a lot man it worked for me!!!
musiXmatch works as standalone app or just for Lyrics!
I'm using poweramp AND musiXmatch.
When I hear a Song musiXmatch shows me in Statusbar if there is a lyricsfile for it and when I tap on it it opens.
Poweramp plays in background and in opened musiXmatch I have the lyrics
For me MusiXmatch works very good, and if I didn't payed for PowerAmp I would just use musiXmatch like years before on PC!
Fix cover art in Musixmatch
I also have Poweramp and am using Musixmatch with it. When I open the Musixmatch app it has some how loaded pictures from my photo album as cover art and I didn't feel like paying Musixmatch to fix their problem so what I ended up doing is downloaded Cover Art Downloader from the playstore and it automatically found the right cover art and replaced the photos.

I use itune agent to sync my itune playlist to my x1

from songs i buy from itunes store
not acc drm songs mind you but the non drm itunes plus ones
that apple changed to
most my songs are m4a and they play just fine
but the songs i payed for make the media panel act up
it sounds like it's starting but then it quit
and look like it's using back and forth in and out of the
playing song mode
have anybody tried the same setup ?
mmh problem still exists here with R2, anybody found a solution? searched forums as well as with google but found no solution though
well tried the touchflow player and same deal
suspect they both depend on wmp to play music
and thats the culpit
if you try other players like coreplayer it works just fine
of cause that mean one can't use the se media panel for playing
yeah, theres no m4a decoder for winmo wmp I don't think.
will they play in wmp on desktop? I wonder if theres a codec we could copy across from there?

I seriously doubt your statement that WM does not support the Advanced Audio Codec, ACC, (which is M4A - Mpeg 4 Audio) since AAC is one of the (official) audiocodec's used in the MP4 video container.
AAC is also alot easier to decode then MP3, which makes it even more strange that that would be the case.

AAC is supported just fine in WM6 .
However I remember some problems caused by Itunes Pro AAC's, since they use INVALID TAG's. This was done to indentify the buyer.
You could have a look with some decent tagging software (foobar FTW ), and strip the non-standard tags from the music.
Whether it can decode the audio part of video isn't a debate. It's whether it can play M4a files natively.
There's various sources that say it can and it can't.
I can't get my bog standard DRM free M4a files that I download as part of the NIN|Ja tour sampler to play on my x1 using WMP.
I can get the same files to play using pocket player, ergo WMP does not support M4A
does anybody know exactly which tags mess up playability in media experience panel ?(before i start testing myself).
btw i do use foobar, however i dont see the tags mediainfo is showing me anywhere within foobar, i might be mssing something (e.g. the properties dialogue does not show my mail address)
I had this same problem, but solved it using a little utility call PutPinfInItsPlace. Here's a short extract from the "ReadMe" file:-

Yes. That is exactly what i meant with the invalid tags. Thanks for finding, i searched for it but i found nothing.
(i was under the impression Foobar could too though, but i don't buy from the Apple Music Store (big apple hater here, ) so i could not test it, sorry)
I've recently started using my phone for music (slow, rite?) and have synchronised some of my albums from windows media player (PC) to my memory card. They all have album art, and on PocketWMP the cover arts show, but on the MXP they dont. I mean, some of them do, something like, 2 out of 30, but thats it.
I did happen to notice the default tracks provided on the phone showed the cover arts. Am I doing it wrong? Why do these cover arts show everywhere except for on the MXP album art displayer?
Btw, im using R2AA MXP, i dont like R3AA one.

All works!
It works for some of my albums, just not most of them.
Use mp3tag application to add album art : )
I have same problem ....
All files syncro from PC hads its own cover art , but main panel shows only 5 % of cover art .
I have purchased pocket player , grate for streaming audio ( Tunner2 ACC+ ) , also for ape , ogg , acc ....
but I have same problem like main media panel .
so mp3tag its a mobile util or pc one ?
Can you tag other files than mp3 ? , like mp4, m4a , its the most I use .

I did it manually and it worked grate , now , MXP , windows media player and pocket player displays correctly , cover art on mp3 , m4a .

Can I do the same with video files ? ( mp4 )
I can see that xperia recorded videos are display correctly , I mean on , thumbnail image on MXP .
Wich software can help ?
I found an important point for me, the cover has to be changed to "front cover" if it's not in the mp3tag, some covers weren't assigned as a "front cover" and now I changed it and the covers are there.
I have the problem I don't know how to change all my covers on the PC to "front cover"? Anybody an idea with mp3tag, I can only change 1 album with the same cover picture at the time...
I figured out the problem I was having; when using WMP to syncronise my CDs, it auto-tags the tracks from the CD when putting them on my PC, with the data it gets from the net, so on the PC it's tagged. But all it does is create an image file in the folder that the tracks share - WMP logically picks that up. When you syncronise the tracks with your phone, it doesnt sync the album art... but...
If you manaully then tag your tracks, you will see that there actually isnt any album art tagged to the track, but if you tag it with the album art, syncing the track also syncs the image. I would imagine that im actually wrong and that the image actually always does get sync'd because WMP was picking it up on the device, but maybe the MXP doesnt pick up folder art, and only track art.

Can any body recommend a decent program to transfer music my pc to my phone?
Media go is really slow on my pc, I tried the old disc to phone and that keeps putting music in the wrong order and instead of having 12 songs per album I keep getting 12 one track albums.
What are people using and any ideas why this is happening?

The thing is with the pc its only got about 512 ram and 1.6 ghz proccesor which I find quite funny as the phone is almost more powerfull than the pc lol
If I were to put 30 cds on at one go it would be an all night job.
I need something that's not so intencive on the pc but actually works properly. Ideas?

Thanks for your help and suggestions guys. I'm guessing the music must be currupt or something cos even copy and paste not making it go on in the right order and mp3s keep skipping.

Can't explain the skipping, but is your metadata all correct?, that could explain why it doesn't show correctly. What player are you using?
I'm sorry I have absolutly no idea what metadata is. I'm using mixzing and paid for the upgrade lisence.

....and is what affects how players list tracks, so if I take 10 different tracks from 10 different artists, but edit the Album as "Selected remixes of the last 10 years", the player will list them all in the same album.
I have just started using MediaMonkey to go through my collection and update every track so I have the right album art displaying with Meridian on my phone, but still with some tracks the album art isn't being displayed at all but everything else is ok.
I understand what you mean now but its quite weird cos on my computer it displays everything in the right order with the correct tags.
I guess all I can do is blame some sort of curroption, it should be as easy as
1 take it from the external hard drive ( where everything is in the right order etc )
2 copy to pc ( still in the right order )
3 copy and paste to sd
But it all goes horribly wrong on the last step for some reason and it takes ages to sort it all manually but I may left with no choice
Thanks everyone for your help so far

I've been a diehard Winamp fan for the last few years but MediaMonkey is my number 1 player from now on and the features it has makes it a breeze to organise your collection. I've got my mothers music collection on my external, every song artist and title is in CAPITALS , and have put off transferring it to my lappy because of the amount of work it would have taken to sort it out, and whilst I'll still have to go through each individual file, sorting the casing i.e "Artist - Song Title" from "ARTIST - SONG TITLE" can be done with a click, for the whole collection.

It even plays and the song and shows the lyrics with auto scrolling and LRC support.
So it can highlight words karaoke style

i'm assuming this works for kk too?
i'll test to see if synced lyrics work, or if the will be at least read (yet no scrolling etc)

Copy your music files into a Music folder on the N7. Use any updated player to find the folder and play the music.

From Play music cloud. As in 'Keep on device'.
I'm sure he tried and not succeeded, that's why he's asking here.

And where to find these files?
No music player has detected music from Play Music.
Google music stores all your offline music on the root of your phone (I believe), and renames all the songs. I don't think there's a way to use your offline GMusic songs in another player. I found the offline songs earlier but forgot where it was...
EDIT: Found it! Root/data/data/com.google.android.music/files/music

Awesome!
Now let's try making a link to the folder. I tried
"ln -sf /data/...../files /sdcard/music"
but if failed.

I copied mp3 files from my computer (which are the same files I uploaded to Play Music) to a folder called Music on the sdcard of the internal memory. I opened Play Music, in settings I selected 'Choose on device music'. It found the music files I had copied, I selected a song and it started playing. I also chose 'shuffle all' and it continued to go through the songs. I can do this with Poweramp and a couple of other music players. The point is, if you copy music to the device, you can play it with any number of music players.

While this is completely true, it's beside the point. Play music is after all still a music player, of course it plays music from 'sdcard'. It will play any mp3s, even if they aren't stored inn your music cloud. What op was asking was, how to access those files, that are selected as 'keep on device' in play music, to use with power amp for example.
Honestly, even though I installed power amp on my n7, I barely use it, for mp3s I have on 'sdcard' I just got used to play music.
Edit: I just noticed doubletwist supports this, you need to be rooted though. Check it out on play store.
