I think its possible, as far as I remember. What device are you using?
That is possible but only when you run auto flashing options before recording.

You may find you like a headlamp better for casting or bouncing good light. Energizer models are very bright for around 20$.
I use the built in and the headlamp. It makes a difference.
FlashLight + Video recording
Thanks, after changing to autoflash for video recording flashlight turned ON.

When I play music or videos the strenght of the screen light is changing without me doing anything. It's really annoying.. Someone got the same problem?
And even though I have installed Coreplayer the videos don't run completely without lagging a little bit. (I have installed the SDtuneup..)
Regards!

Unfortunately the video playback isn't well at all. There are some work-arounds, but basically you have to re-encode your videos .
i agree its the light sensor,
i switched the auto light sensor off and light is stable now.(but bright)
It could just be me, but can anyone zoom in/out whilst recording, i repeat, WHILST recording? I dont appear to be able to do so, seems a bit silling not having this ability.
Also, seeing as though filming in the dark with the legend is pretty much impossible, is there anyway you can turn the led on during video capture mode? Some kind of ROM?
Thanks
I have noticed a problem with the video recording on my HD2 as of lately. When I get ready to record a video the image on the screen is sharp. As soon as I hit the record button the image goes out of focus and is no longer sharp. As soon as I stop recording the image on the screen is sharp again. I don't remember it doing this when I first got the phone. I'm not sure if I changed something in the registry to cause this problem or not. Has anyone else heard of this happening or know of a way to fix it? I searched, but it does not look like others have posted this issue before.
Thanks
P.S. Here are my video settings as of now.
Resolution VGA (640x480)
Review Duration: No Review
Capture Format: MPEG4
Sharpness +5
Sounds like the auto focus is some how messing up. Could be something on the lens that is making out of focus or something. Not sure what else would cause that. If you are running a cooked rom maybe try reflashing it.
The lens is clean and the camera focus is fine in camera mode. It will also focus fine in video mode until the second I hit the record button. The focus issue only occurs when I hit record to capture a video.
Am I really the only person with this problem?
I also have this problem but with the normal HD2, the camera for pictures works fine. The problem occurs when recording video, first its all clear..hit record...blurry...im not sure what to do :O
Glad to know I'm not alone in this problem. I tried to record a quick clip today at work, and the camera was actually able to stay in focus when I hit the record button. Here is the sample clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bB70tTDl1t0
This is the best quality I have been able to get out of it. I'm going to keep messing with it to see if anything changes.

Dam nice job ya got there haha, but seriously, video looked good, glad its workin better for ya now
Here too, its best just to view on it the computer, just wish HTC would have added a better sensor, or some one make better drivers
I have been searching for a video RECORDING apps that will enable me to switch between the front-facing and the rear-facing cameras in mid-recording (without stopping the recording).
Qik and the myTouch 4G default cameras allow you to switch, but only when not recording. The other camera then gets disabled, and if you want to switch, you have to stop recording. I don't really wanna stitch 2 videos together, although I guess this is the short term answer until an app is made or an existing one supports this.
I have searched a few forums and Google without any answers. Is this even possible (even with root) or is this just wishful thinking?
EDIT: I know this is possible with video chat, but I want this for video recording.
Last night I tried a video call for the first time using the new Hangouts with someone who also has a S4. We both used WiFi, with similar connection speeds, and while the other person's video was smooth and clear, mine was very choppy. I could see it in the preview as soon as I made the call and it remained choppy the whole time.
I tried switching to mobile data and it was the exact same - perfect video on the other end, and really choppy video on mine.
If I switched cameras around though to use the rear camera, it became smooth as expected, and only when I switched back to the front facing camera did it become choppy again.
If I use the camera app and use the front facing camera it looks smooth as expected.
Does anyone know why only I would be having choppy video and how I could fix it?

Were you by chance in a low-light area? If so, try again when your face is brightly lit.

When things like this don't really make any sense, I would try uninstalling the Hangouts (in the settings-->apps) and clear its data and cache, and stop the service then uninstall. Go back to google play and reinstall it and reboot. Hope this does it!

I wouldn't say a low light area, it wasn't the brightest either but there was definitely a decent enough amount of light.

I'll give this a shot, I'll report back tonight if it works or not.

I tried the hangout again but it still had choppy video. On a hunch I went into the settings and disabled some of the "smart" features that rely on the front facing camera (e.g. Smart Pause) and while trying again we both agreed that the video was smoother than before, but still choppier than we felt it should be. I tried turning off other features too like Smart Stay but they had no effect (the other person was using Smart Stay as well).
Any ideas?
