[Q] Rooting the Kindle Fire under Linux?

I am using Ubuntu and on all the guides I've read so far, it tells me to download the USB 3rd party thing. But of course, that's not usable under Linux.
Can someone point me towards a guide that DOES work fully under Ubuntu/Linux?

Problem rooting kindle fire (ADB)

Ok i have tried everything and posting this is my last resort. I can not for the life of me get Kindle Utility or burrito root to find my device if tried 5 videos that i found on youtube and NONE of them help me. ADB for some reason will not go online i have installed and un installed the driver millions of times and it will not work. So pleas help me.

Also Did You make sure all your drivers were there and make you have the .android in your documents

[Q] Lost Fire Drives in Explorer after root

Hello all Nob here...
Rooted my Fire using jcase's (THANKS jcase) Burrito Root 3, Then installed the Google Svcs., and the Market. Problem is that I can no longer see the Fire when I connect it to the computer (Win 7, 64), The Fire says it's connected and that files can be downloaded but the Fire does not show up in Explorer?

check to make sure the drivers are correct. Most issues talking to the KF resolve around driver issues.

I agree, it sounds like a driver issue. Use Windows device manager and uninstall the kindle drivers, then reinstall them. Restart computer. Should be good to go.

1) You're in the wrong forum. Most of the information in this forum will render your device completely useless.
2) USB storage drivers are significantly different from ADB drivers.
