[Q]KF wont turn on [sort of fixed] - Kindle Fire General

I had an ICS build from about mid February installed on my fire
from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411895
Well today I downloaded a new ROM. So I went to turn on my Fire and it just hung for a while, the screen was blank but I could see the backlight was still on (charger was plugged in at the time)
Finally it turned of (or died) after about a minute.
Now I am unable to turn it on and when I plug in the charger the charging light doesnt come on either.
Is there a way to fix this? or am I SOL?
EDIT: NEVERMIND, i left my KF alone for about 10 minutes and just after posting this reply I held the power for about 5 seconds without the charger plugged in and it turned on!

when you say charger do you mean electrical outlet charger or usb charger? KF doesn't allow for proper charging by USB.
if the former then confirm the charger works with another device just to be sure.
It is possible that your KF was in deep sleep when you tried to turn it on...the backlight but no response is typical of the SOD (sleep of death) where the only fix is to restart runtime or hold power for 18 seconds then restart.
prior to this did u have a working ADB? that may help troubleshoot or not.
need more details I have no answers yet.

I mean wall charger. and yes it works
No it was on normally and I was at the home screen when I attempted to turn it off.
I did have ADB working (i think I used that to root it on linux) but that was on my old laptop and it has since died and now Im on another laptop
EDIT: NEVERMIND, i left my KF alone for about 10 minutes and just after posting this reply I held the power for about 5 seconds without the charger plugged in and it turned on!
Oh thank goodness I was scared I had a $200 paper weight for a minute
Thank you androidcues for attempting to help though

Constant Rebooting?

Ok, so my Kindle Fire is rooted running an older version of CM9 (Late January) and since I don't use it very often it just sits there. Well, it ended up draining the battery and when I plug it into the wall to charge it just tries to turn on, gets to the FIREFIREFIRE bootloader logo and shuts off instantly. Over and over and over...
I've had it plugged in for about 20 minutes now and nothing is changing... How can I make it stop so it will just charge? I feel like its just booted and draining faster than its charging now.
Just let it sit for over an hour, came back and the screen was off with the light just flashing.
What now?! I unplugged it, and plugged it back in and it just resumed the screen flashing again...
I hope it didn't break because of the stupid battery
- plug it to the wall charger
- press and hold the power button for ~20sec till it turns off to allow it to charge
- let it charge for some hours (over night)

No dice, it won't turn off. I held it for over a minute while looking at the power light from an angle. It just kept on blinking green...

[Q] HELP!!!! n10 died and now wont turn on

Ok my n10 is rooted and romed with CARBON rom, no problems nothing, but today I had an email come in I looked at it set It down left the screen on a second later it just died. so I plugged it in back on it comes. later same thing almost dead checked new email, set it down screen on then death.....plugged it in again, now nothing except a flashing battery charging symbol. been charging for 10 min. tried power, power volume down, nothing....got a different cable...nothing.....my computer wont pick it up either. what do I do?????
PLEASE HELP!!!
I just had this same problem with mine; because of the strange battery issue where my battery would read 90% when it was actually empty and slow charging once it was plugged in... The resolution for me was to plug it into the charger for 5 minutes and not touch it and then try a power on.

Thanks Ill give it a go!!
Plug it in to the wall charger, not a computer. Let it sit for 30 minutes and then hold all buttons down at the same time. This should let the tablet boot now and will bring you into fastboot mode. It defaults to "Start" so just hit the power button and the tablet will boot like normal. Once you verify the tablet will boot fine, shut it down and leave it plugged into the wall charger until the tablet is charged all the way.
Dont know if it is a coincidence or not but this is the 3rd time I have heard the same story and all people were using the Carbon ROM.
Thanks guys for the feedback, definitely will be switching roms and buy the pogo charger!

Nexus 4 shows blinking red led after 30 sec power-press, wont boot/charge.

This morning after charging it overnight my phone suddely wouldn't start anymore. I've read a lot of threads where the phone just shows a red blinking led when inserting power. Mine doesn't show anything when I plug it in to ac/usb. However when I push the power button the red light shows after about 30 seconds and keeps blinking for as long as I keep power button pushes.
I already opened up the back panel and dis/reconnected the battery, doesnt work.
I tried charging for several hours but this doesn't seem to work either.
I have a desktop dock and upon placing my phone the dock indicates my phone is connected to it (blue light on dock) but it doesn't do anything even if I leave it in there for a few hours. I bought my phone at a reseller in the netherlands because it isn't sold here. What to do now?
Mine did that and it took being plugged in for a good 15 minutes before it did anything, even then it turned on then immediately turned itself off. I had to wait an hour before it would turn on and stay on. The entire time with a blinking red light.
Problem is, it does not(!) blink at all when it's on usb/ac. It's been on ac for hours now and nothing happens. When I press power after 30 seconds it starts blinking for as long as I have the button pushed.. strange but true. Anyway.. I'll just leave it charging for 24 hours or so..
Also try another ac charger, USB wont supply enough power to get it going I dont think, and maybe there is something wrong with your home charger...
Thanks for the advice. I just switched my ac charger but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference (yet).. I'll keep you posted!

I had the same problem with you ! could you turn on your phone now?
I just couldn't figure it out so I just packaged it and I'm sending it off to the repair service later today... It should be back in 10 workdays.. lucky for me I still have my Galaxy Nexus

my device has just quit workin all together

my att g2 4.2 rooted stock rom worked normally last night, this morning I plugged it into the car charger and it displayed it was charging with 2% charge present. I pressed the power button the boot animation began I set it down and when I picked it back up a few minutes later to use it...well nothing...the charging indicator led wasn't lit and when I pressed the power button LG appeared for only a split second then went black. when I plug it in same thing, LG logo for a brief second then disappears. I haven't done anything recently except xposed modules, no flashing of anything. any ideas? thank you guys
It happened to me (on other devices) when I let them discharged too far. Just allow it to charge awhile then try to hold the power button
for 10-20secs ... The NookHD+ were the worst in this situation (it won't charge sometimes, I had to plug/unplug a few times to initiate a charge, I was almost about to RMA one of them).
something else that's odd
when I plugged my device into my laptop the laptop acted like I just plugged in 12 different things that all needed to have their disk formatted. what is going on? wierd

try charging the device in offline mode ( turn it off and let it charrge for a while) and then turn it on . mind wouldnt turn on because of very low charge yesterday. doing this helped
update
I let it charge for several hours, nothing...it appears to be in some kind of boot loop. I can't turn it off all the way, I hold the powwer button for tensec or so and the LG will appear for a second then disapear and then the back light stays on. oh ya, when I plugged it in a few hours ago it wouldn't turn on but the red LED was flashing. I'm not sure how long it stayed on, but it was off when i got back to it several hours later. thank you for your time fellas!
If you can get to recovery at all, leaving it on charge in there. Has saved me in a similar situation.

Could have been the power switch that makes the phone short circuit and goes off anytime.

Thank you sirs, unfortunately still no good
it sounds like you had the same thing as everyone else yesterday that had twrp installed and the carrier automatically updated the system.
I could not get my phone recognized by the laptop and had to use pdanet drivers, which finally worked, but I still had to dig for the device. then had to flash back to stock. There is a pretty good thread on this topic, already. Search for it in the developer section. Do not skip any steps, such as setting the date back to jan2012 and turning off the internet. go slow and methodically, or you will miss a step and get frustrated.

Nexus 7 won't charge/power on/can't access fastboot or bootloader

Hi guys,
My Nexus 7 (2012) turned off(not properly) when the battery level was low and won't power on. I tried a battery from a working tablet and tested my battery in another tablet. It seems like the issue is somewhere else.
These are the things I tried:
- leave it for a couple of hours charging (no battery sign at all)
- hold the power button with/without the volume levels while it being both connected and disconnected.
- tested my battery in another tabled and put a fully charged battery from another tablet
- made sure that the battery is connected
There was one more thing I tried - to press the Power button with no battery inside but the tablet being connected to a laptop via the USB cable. One could hear something like a boot noise coming from the tablet (doesn't happen when the battery is inside)
In December, 2015 I installed a Custom ROM with android 5.1.1 which I found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7/development/android-6-aosp-grouper-t3268172/ (the thread was renamed and is now about the Android 6 update) The tablet worked fine for these 3 months but one day when I was checking my email it went off and won't respond to any actions.
Could you please help me to fix it? I'm just not ready to give up on this tablet. Thanks!
Both you and i, same model, essentially, the same circumstances. I also tried every method you mentioned as well. Even down to the flashing of a rom. Same results. I even tried "jump starting" the battery. Not wanting to give up on it. It sits in my closet like that boy in A.I at the bottom of the ocean, waiting... I know that is not the reply or help you were looking for. Just so you know, you are not alone..

Well, that's a good start, at least I am not the only one!
Have you tried to connect your device via USB? My laptop can see a connected device but it can't recognize it and I hear some sounds coming from the tablet when I try to hold the `power` button. This made me think that it can be a display/screen related, so the device works but we can't see it due to the broken screen/display. Don't know how to check that though.
Same here, stock Nexus 7, won't turn on, just switched off one day and won't come back on, have tried everything as suggested above, can't get it to flicker, doesn't even register the power connection with a green light or anything

Try replacing the screen, just to check. If that doesn't fix it, at least you have a brand new screen!
I'm currently having the same issue, haven't used it in 6 months and when I tried to turn it on, nothing happens

I fix mine,
let it sit on the charger for a hour, then hold down the button for 20 sec
same issue here as well ive had it for about a year and im not able to access anything via my pc google help forums had no answer either, looks like we may be screwed..........
Hi, I just had same issue with my tablet only thing is that I was using it with ~20% of battery, nothing special - browsing the web using chrome, then the screen lit gray and shut off. After that no response either from charger, holding power button for 60+ seconds didn't work either, tried re-connecting the battery, still with no signs.
And then, I tried to plug in the charger and then pressing VolumeDown+Power immediately after connecting the charger. Suddenly got some response, that battery charging icon appeared, and it shows my battery charging, but from 0%. Still waiting to charge a bit until I can try to boot it.
I'll update this post with any news.
EDIT: When I connected my tablet to the charger it had that hissing sound, but after few minutes it stopped.
After 15 minutes of charging I managed to boot my Nexus7 with 7% of charge in it a that moment, It seems to work for now.
Summarry of what I did to solve my problem:
1. Opened the back of the N7 (I used a guitar pick for this) and re-connect the battery.
2. Then plugged in the charger and at the same time pressed VolumeDown+Power, battery icon lit up but went out, repeated step 1, and then step 2 again gave me animated battery charging animation which showed up for like 10 seconds
3. Waited for 10-15 minutes and tried to boot normally. And it works now

Honestly, I do not think it is the battery, I can see the Charge signal, and the Battery is showing 1,784 VDC tested unplugged and disconnected, my smart young co-worker seems to think POST is failing, I still never see a "Charging" indication.
Does anyone know , Is there a fail safe, say the battery is disconnected, and usb charger is plugged in, will i just see all 5VDC at the sub port, ?
I never see a screen flicker, DEAD battery sign, nothing.
co-worker, tried some things that made sense when he explained what he did, I would have to agree with him.
Now it is rooted, 4.x something I forget, Never went to 5.x did once early and did not like it, Back stock, ran 2 days no issues, Rooted again, 4.x still do not remember, worked great 3-4 months, Sons ran it to DEaD and that was it, put it up for 90 days or so, wife got new tablet, kids have Fire each, and here i am tabletless, CRAP, did not want to throw to much $$$$ at this thing, nor did I want to buy a new one.
Samsung Tablet here we come.
