Try to grab the latest clock work mod. It's like 5 something now
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using Tapatalk
Where can I download it from and can I just install it in recovery because that will be the only way I can update it and thank you
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using XDA
you can go to koushs clockworkmod site and find it, its 5.0.2.0 currently unless youve want to use the touch recovery which is 5.8.1.6 then you can just toss it into a PG06IMG.zip file from another recovery like the twrp recovery and flash it through bootloader like you would a radio
Thank you so much I'm about to do it now

it has to be flashed through the bootloader, thats your problem.
reboot the phone hold power and volume down and go into the bootloader and let it install itself

Your card may need to be formatted to fat32 in order for the zip to be recognized. Do you have sdk set up on your pc? You could just flash through fastboot..

Find the amon_ra 2.3 recovery in the EVO development section. It is in the first post. You need the PC36IMG.zipPut that file on the root of your SD card. Hold power and volume down to get to the bootloader. It will search for that file. It will ask you if you want to apply the update. Press volume up for yes. When it finishes it will ask if you want to reboot. Press volume down for no. Now you are back at the bootloader menu. Select recovery and now you should be in your custom recovery. From here you can flash custom roms.

You are doing something wrong. Make sure you put that file on the root of your sdcard. Meaning not in any folders. It has to be named exactly like this. PC36IMG.zip Sometimes operating systems hide the filetype so if you added .zip to PC36IMG try removing the .zip. Also make sure you only have one PC36IMG on your sdcard at a time.

Depends on what OS version you're in... in gingerbread the recovery is locked and checks signature, on ICS or JB it doesn't.

So, I have been attempting to flash TWRP recovery using flashify. I have the ATT G2, and I am rooted of course. People have said they had success but I can't seem to get it to work for me. I downloaded the TWRP .img from herehttp://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/g2att and attempted to flash via flashify. It takes about 2 seconds then says "flash successful reboot now or flash more" but when I attempt to get into recovery(power button volume down until LG logo then let go and repress) and it shows up "factory reset device. Press power button if yes, press any other button to cancel". What am I doing wrong?

Bumping due to a similar question. I downloaded the updated TWRP and flashed the "recovery.img" file in flashify. It said it was successful then I booted into recovery and the screen is black with the backlight on. I have to hold power for about 10 seconds and it reboots into my current ROM with no issues. Any thoughts on why TWRP isn't there anymore? It was for a while while I flashed CM 10.2. Just tried to update TWRP since I want to try some CM11 roms. Thanks in advance!
If you also have the AT&T version, then this is the file you should be flashing using Flashify... openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.2-g2att.img
... then in order to update to 2.6.3.3, flash openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-g2att.zip from recovery.
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/g2att
Hello, all. I am trying to install TWRP on my VZW G2, but when I download the latest file (2.6.3.3) it's a .zip. In Flashify it is looking for a .img file. Inside the ZIP is an img file, should I extract that and then flash that? Thanks.
BTW, Loki_Flash would not work for me because it says it's not a valid Loki image, so if it's easier to solve that I'm up for that too. Thanks!

If your tablet is using faatboot mode then you are complled to have root access to flash recovery.
But if your tablet uses download mode/odin mode. You can just use odin software on pc and flash recovery without root access.
On basis of which mode your tablet have, tell me the mode and i will give you a detailwd diacription of how to flaah recovery.
We need recovery to do alot of things.
Like flash zips and rom locally.
Mount and format any partition.
Flaah roms without signature verification.

So that will allow the device to accept the recovery image? How do I install CWM Recovery, through Odin or some other tool?
Damn, there is no way to install CWM to the recovery rom through the stock recovery partition? I found the CWM page for the device, but it has to be done through the booted OS. What would happen if I tried to use Odin to install it?
Your device is bricked, get it replaced. No way to recover, and if you think you can use Odin on a zmax.... You're better off with an iPhone.
