sounds like you tired to install over a froyo rom/kernel, did you upgrade to 2.3 official before installing the .35 recovery and rom?

hi
i am using miui from the last few months now, i installed cyanagen , all these roms are based on 2.3 and at present i am using miui_u8800_2.2.24 andi tried to install rom from this rom only, i dont use froyo, but still the problem persists,
can u help
You need to install OFFICIAL 2.3.5 if you want to use .35 kernel ROMs (new CM7.2, Aurora, new MIUI...). It is not enough if you just install a custom 2.3 ROM beacuse older 2.3 ROMs use .32 kernel, so you need to update to official 2.3.5 which also changes some other files so you can use .35 kernel and from official you can go to .35 kernel custom ROMs.
now different prob

hi
thanks for what u said but
i installed official 2.3.5 but now there is no imei and when i try to load into pink screen to change the recovery, it is not mounting, seems there r no files in it,
please help
and also when i revert back to 2.2 it shows files in boot screen in boot loader (pink Screen) and there i can change the latest recovery 5.5.0.4 but again the problem is back to .32, is there any way i can install only kernel to first change from .32 to .35 and then try to install a different rom (.35)
i would also like to add the official update i used was Android 2.3 V100R001C00B526G001 and now there is one more update Android 2.3 V100R001C00B528G001, currently i am downloading that, i will let u know what happens after i download that

You can change recovery with root explorer. Here is a great guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420728
Every ROM from beta2 on has locked bootloader so you cant change files when in pink screen but you can unlock it after you rooted it and changed recovery (search development forum for tutorial)
Problem solved

first study this thread carefully and learn the basics:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216982
the use the search function in the forum and find and an official ROM MIUI thread
or check WIUI based on MIUI and CM7
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161110
use forum-search and find (many?) other MIUI rom thread like this:

Hello,
First I'm new here and the rule of posting 10 times before being able to post in development section is not to fair I must say.
Well, I would like to try the MIUI based Elite ROM v9.6 Multilanguage 2012-02-01.
I know that I have its recommended to downgrade to a 2.2 version such as U8800 V100R001C00B138SP04(Normal).
We should repeat this downgrad process at least 3 times.
And then what we need to do more?
Should we root it and then install a CWM or I can just install the CWM and boot directly in recovery to install the MIUI based Elite?
Also, which CWM should be used?
Thank you
I dont think it really requires the stock to be installed 3 times, but if you have time, just do it. After it install CWM and flash the rom. no need to root. cwm version 5.0.2.6 works.
Helo all,
Since my fisrt custom ROM, OXYGEM, my carrier name changed, even now, when i'm using the Aurora ICS rom from DZO, after installing the previous stock roms, the carrier name is not the one that was supost to be.
My girlfriend has the same phone. she was using the stock rom yet. I installed the Aurora ICS and the carrier name is right!
Do you know how can i overwrite tis problem? there's a file or something that I can copy from her phone.
Tanks
I suggest you to install official 2.2 or 2.3 to restore sytems to normality.
than you just root and instal CWM and custom rom again.
To install custom cum you can skip the root part off course...

To install the Aurora ICS ROM i had to downgrade to stock 2.2 and install the 2.3 official rom!
So, i gues it doesn't resolve the problem! =/
Hey guys,
First of all sorry about all the noobyness, but i would really appreciate some help
So i really want to install Arconium 8.2 on my Arc S and i have no clue on how to do so. I've read that you need to flash doomkernel v22 and then install Arconium 8.2. Could someone please tell me how do i go from stock GB to Arconium 8.2?
I am running stock GB version 4.0.2.A.0.62 with a unlocked bootloader, and also I'm not rooted.
Again, sorry about the nooby topic.
Thanks!

Everything you need
Flash the new kernel (in your case, doomkernel) then in the kernel go into recovery (pressing the vol-down key during boot) and then wipe everything by factory reset in recovery and install new rom (arconium)
To flash new kernel you'll flash tool under drivers and software in the link provided

hey there sgy mods of xda.can you pls give me an advice or suggestion which stock rom version/baseband is compatible to merruks tech kernel 2.0?thanks!id tried it once in S5360_DXMJ1_OLBMJ1_DXMI1 stock rom.before i flash kernel 2.0 busybox was there but there is no kernel swap support.after i flash the kernel 2.0 i think it works great but the problem is theres no busybox installed after i check it thru root checker and there is no swap support after im trying to install ram expander.can you pls advice me or suggest me for the compatible stock rom version/baseband for Meruks kernel 2.0.thanks alot guys for those who will help.
btw, another problem in stock rom is that i cant install some of the games that is compatible to other gingerbread os phones/mobile.i wonder why...is there anything i have to do to make it possible?even apps too...
one more thing, i hope there is a detailed tut/steps on how to restore/backup stockrom using the cwm recovery.i hope there's some applications included that is compatible for restoring and backup.it is also a guide to all newbie/noob of sgy s5360.here's what happen why im asking for this....i had a stock rom flashed in my sgy and the version/baseband is the one id mention above.then i tried to flash custrom jellyblast.it works great at first but theres some bugs so i decided to restore my backup stockrom but after i did that.somethings wrong happen like bootloop and the worse is i can go to recovery mode just a bootlogo.so i had to flash the stockrom again using odin and i think that is a time consumable and i had to pay for computer rent to the computer shop just to revive my sgy.so thats my biggie problem....specially that im still newbie in sgy s5360.
