Works great indeed. What governor and I/O scheduler are you using?

I have powersave when screen is off and am trying smartass and interactiveX to see which is better but so far interactivex seems better.

kernel : [ARC/ARC S] DooMKernel (v19) with BootManager v2
Xperia Arc LT15i
Tried to flash ICElite beta rom from the kernel menu but it failed to boot the rom so i installed another rom. Can anw please help me install this rom on my Xperia arc? Bootloader is unlocked.

Dooms v19 is for gb(2.3.4)roms; ics needs the ics kernel
sinkster©

hey.
1. download the file
2. unzip and fastboot the kernel given by Z or doomkernel v3 ics and NOT doomkernel v19 which is for GB
3. restart phone and go to recovery
4. factory reset, cache, advanced Dalvik n Battery
5. install Z ICELite and The hotfix
6. off phone and
7. reboot and enjoy
but head over to Z main thread and look on how to disable Dormancy which eats up battery like crazy and other few tweaks.
Cool Beans....

Thanks for the help guys. changing the kernel worked like a charm !

when should I flash the wifi modules for doomkernel? after step3? Thanks.

i tried doomskernel and successfully booted into the rom. The problem was that my wifi wasn't working. I couldn't connect in to the internet. I tried it with the zdzihu kernel and it worked fine. If you have a problem with your wifi you should try the zdzihu kernel.

I think flashed wifi modules after the ICELite rom (tried many times so I am not that sure) and got wifi working. However, the wifi is buggy, e.g. giving "invalid package" errors when trying to download from the market. Flashed the kernel with the rom and it works for me too.

i think u showed fastboot doom kernel then flash rom and hotfix then doom modules then reboot phone....all should be fine...

The ICElite rom is great indeed. But is it possible to install the stock launcher? I don't like the trebuchet launcher.

Hey, Am not a pro at this but i teach myself as i read different threads....just head over to development or themes and apps and check it out..am sure some-one has the answer....and send me a link if u do find.
Cheers

thanks
Awesome ROM, i'm testing...

GPS crashes
Awesome rom. Unfortunately for me GPS does not work propper (SystemUI force close). Hotfix2a does not solve that problem. Anyone else having that issue?

just give me details of how u install it.....NOTE...bot not use the 64 bb libs..it crashes data.....
cheers..

Ok, ive tried both kernels. On stock i get reboots and battery drains so i switched to dooms kernel. I uses activex and smartassv2, on screen off i use powersave govenor and limiting the cpu to 500 mhz. Im 50mV undervolting, screen brightness is on 30 % and im using green power to regulate my data connections. Still i cant get more then one day out of a battery charge. Ive tried reinstalling the rom, clearing batt stats, cache and dalvik cache but nothing helps. Anyone got a suggestion?

Hey....just follow the steps i have put...and give it a day or two....then give me a feedback......

Problems with checkrom or N.E.A.K installs IE bootloop or FC's

So i've have tried several times to install checkrom and have had some issues myself with boot loops, being a noob to andriod, (I just got the phone in january), first thing i wanted to do with my £400 handset was void the warranty and root the bugger.
OK, so i have managed to flash NEAK and checkrom and get my phone in such a nice sweet stable daily usage that i thought i would post this as i see many people have close to or the same problems i had flashing this rom and or kernal.
1) back up all your data using titanium or some other app that allows you to do this.
2) Transfer your data off your phone\SD card to PC IE pictures\music\videos\app back ups.
3) Once all the data you want saved is backed up to PC, you can proceed to format both SD and USB on the phone.
4) Reboot phone to recovery and wipe 'EVERYTHING' this means wipe cache partition\ wipe Dalvik cache \ wipe battery stats \ Factory reset.
5) Turn off phone
6) Boot into download mode IE odin mode
7) Flash via ODIN a rooted stock kernel
8) Boot into recovery again and wipe EVERYTHING
9) Flash checkrom V6
10) reboot into recovery and wipe 'EVERYTHING'
11) Flash N.E.A.K 1.3.3x
12) reboot phone and you should have a stable phone with checkrom as your rom and NEAK as your kernal
NOTE:
As a note i have also got JKAY deluxe setting app installed, i installed this separate which i found on the checkrom page and its working just fine.
Also uninstall the kitchen app that comes with checkrom BEFORE installing the new one from off the market, now i dont know if V6 comes with the new kitchen app as i had flashed V4 before hand then NEAK then to V6.
This took me many tries to get this just right and the key i think to it is the formatting of the USB and SD card.
Good luck to you people, and i hope you have the success i've had enjoying these wonderful tweaks i can now use on my phone.
Between the S1 and now the S2 I have flashed all sorts of roms and never had to format SD card/s. Btw I'm on Checkrom as well.

Me too
I've had bootloops too. But i cleared a clean wipe of my data and flashed the stock rom and installed the ROM back. Now, it's working perfectly fine. I was thinking whether the N.E.A.K kernel was the one causing the problem. And now, after seeing that the others are having nearly the same problem with me, I am positive that there's some problem with the kernel and will not flash the same one again. Thanks!

There is nothing wrong with the kernel. I also am on checkrom v6 and i have flashed that bugger so many times my tits are getting cold from the amount of times of flashing anyway it depends on the way you flash something and if you follow the proper procedures.
Sometimes it could be because of a bad download that sometimes you get bootloops or sometimes you just not flashed a file properly. But to blame a kernel or a rom in general 99% of times is a mistake as most bugs or errors are user inflicted. i still would recommend to flash NEAK as it is a sweet kernel and tomorrow their will be a new updated version. Anyway hope you guys enjoy checkrom and in general your android experience has a more enjoyable going

Fix battery drain on arc 4.0.4 (new way)

hello all, this is my first post, and i am new to this kind of things but i have been downloading and testing aloooooooooooot of roms, and i have been suffering from battery drain until i find the solution by my self, and i said why not share it with all this people facing the same problem.
first flash the LT15i_4.1.B.0.431_Europe 1 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330314
flash some kenel which will give you CWM ( any kernel )
then download this one again (KA20.1_Ice_Cream_Sony_Arc&ArcS) from here but please follow the instruction of how to install this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1539752
after this download from the same post the " on screen bottons '' because the light of bottons of the arc goes off with this patch. do it if you like i have done it. here is the link http://www.mediafire.com/?g82pgwabvx80dbg
now here is what to do after installing all these things and having arc ran under KA20.1 go back to LT15i_4.1.B.0.431_Europe and flash only the KERNEL of it and nothing else or you can just flash the stock ics kernel with flashtool or fastboot but without CWM just and only the stock kernel withouuuut CWM
we are going to install CWM dont be afraid, now turn on the phone and go to the market and install from it Xperia CWM.
when it is installed open Xperia CWM on your menu and install the CWM or just follow this http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1437840
you are done now all you have to do is desable bravia from the brightness menu and leave the baseband on 72 dont change it and you will notice a big diffirence in the battery life.
download the stock kernel that works just fine from the attachmente
if it works to you please say it.
What is the battery usage you got with this trick
2 days with usage and stuff but in sleep mode it stays where ever is it doesnt change. in usage you get less battery drain. try it your self and see
So essentially your talking about installing a Rom then using a stock kernel, which is suggested in most Rom threads for ics as Sony hadn't released the source, you'll find this change now as the source is out.
Sent from my LT18i using XDA
I see. Quite astonishing that i'd used this kind of method when flashing the KA20.1 ROM. The differences is i just re-flash back the LT18i V2 kernel, install and setup Fast Reboot and freeze some unused .apk in Link2SD. Luckily the battery is 34% after 3 days using it.

Problems after installing Merruk on Chobits

I have installed merruk kernel through odin on my galaxy y which has Chobits digitalis v2 and it started behaving oddly
1) FC's
2) Sudden reboots
3) Bootanimation is changing colurs from cyan to red
4) Overheating
5) Very poor performance
I went back to stock rom and kernel for time being but I want to know why it happened that way?
Please help
Thanks in advance
1) What superuser app you had? SuperSU gives FCs with merruk
2) Wierd. Merruk is pretty much stable. Much be some problem in your end.
3) Thats chobits random boot animation script lol. Its intended to change
4) Same as 2nd answer
5) Its the best performance kernel out there. You mustve done something wrong.
To debug your problem, can you describe more about the issues?
Thanks I understood the problem now I flashed ext4.zip when it wasn't required and I had SuperSU

Battery life & kernel ambasadi rom i9505

I wanted to get imperial kernel v3.3 since they added a google services battery fix
Ran script wiped etc... Phone just stays on model number inital boot screen. :0 This also happened on a stock root rom i tried.
Hybridmax works great but ive got passive battery drain and its a bit outdated. With hulk i cant get wifi working Maybe if tw v2 comes out itll work!? . Kushan seems unstable.
I was hoping imperial would patch the problem yet still no changes :/

Try this.
*Update your recovery.
*download the zip again
*flash the file
*clear cache and dalvinks.
*remove the battery and keep it away for 1 min or so.
*place the battery again and turn the phone on
Revert.

I tried your advice before with no results.
Im guessing if trying on a clean install of a different rom had the same problem then the issue lies in a strange place
The other rom was a stock with root :0 so im guessing king of similar to what im running now. Maybe the stock roms have some problems ?

No UCI support in Voltaq Kernel - Synapse problem

I've flashed voltaq kernel v15 on i9500 on touchwiz LL ROM, but whenever I open Synapse app it says: No UCI support detected.
Tried wiping cache, restoring stock kernel, etc. When I type uci in terminal it says command not recognized, but I could find the synapse files in res folder.
However I tried Nevermore X and Synapse worked with it. Since it had reboot and wake lock issues I reverted back to voltaq.
How can I fix the UCI problem in Voltaq?
Bro. That is known issue in Volt kernel. Anyway, install volt kernel again. If u get no uci message, manually reboot (mean turn off ur phone then turn on it). Do it 1-3 times then it will work back again.

Weird. I used to use volt kernel with ale95 and ale95 based rom, also with other stock and that method help me so much. About volume control without synapse, see in NevermoreX kernel thread, he posted guide to customize it.

the fix for me was
unroot my s4
flash supersu 2.46 thru recovery
then flash voltaqe
im not sure but whenever i update supersu
synapse fails.. but the old 2.46 works fine
so i never ever ever tried to update supersu..
thats the way i got synapse with voltaqe properly running
tried and tested on first flight, ale95 port, morphose v1 and v2
try it if you want.. but make backup first just in case..
