Hi,thanks for passing-by I appreciate that my lovely XPERlA X8 is in a big mess
*I installed Xrecovery
*tryed some costume ROM's...
*I finelly desided to go back to the STOK ROM (i bot with) EClair 2.0.1.A.0.47
when i wanted to restore xrecovery's backup image of the EClair 2.0.1.A.0.47, I found that it was accedetly damaged
To do so, I am thinking of downloading EClair 2.0.1.A.0.47's xrecovery backup folder found @ sdcard/xrecovery/backup wich contains (system.img, cash.img, data.img and nandroid.img) so i can overwrite the damaged one and restore your ROM on my phone
Do you think it is possibel?
if not sure let me try it by passing me your xrecovery backup folder of EClair
i realy don't want to flash the phone but if i had to, I'd do it
Thanks for your time, i appreciate your intention, I'd be happyer if I had my XPERlA X8 back to normal. You can make me SO
You could just use seus. Google seus. Its easyer
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
1.install Sony Ericsson PC Companion
2.install flash tools. download from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=986697
3.dwnload latest stock rom from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?q8ppcqvbrspwhyy

Hi everybody,
I'm have HTC Hero wich have some problems with USB. Windows has see this device as unknown device even when device is running at recovery(ra recovery 1.6.2), so I will send this hero to service when I have guarantee for he. But I have unofficial software therefore I have to install official ROM but I can't used RUU. Maybe is exists other way to install that software ?
have u tried just updating drivers?
[Guide] How to Setup Correct Hero Drivers (for x86 & x64 users)
....But no, as far as I know there is no method for installing an RUU without using a USB cable.
But I didnt need RUU, I only need information how to restore generic ROM for my hero

To restore generic ROM though, you use an RUU.
I had the same USB problem before I send it back for warranty to get it fixed. in order to install official rom without using USB:
1. get official rom which suit your HTC from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=559622
2. flash the rom like you flashing other custom rom to your htc.
3. If you use flashrec to root your hero you probably have backup of your recovery image, put it on your sd card run flashrec this time restore your original recovery image. (if you dont have backup of your origiinal recovery image I uploaded mine in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4972904&postcount=41)
4. that's it! you got your virgin hero back. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4965845&postcount=39)
if you have Nadroid back up of your Hero you can restore it in order to get back to original rom. but again you need to follow step 3 to flash original recovery image.
I have the same problem. I had restore the original android 2.1 (T-Mobile G2 Touch) from nandroid. But flashrec does not work on this version. I got an error message: "Flash FAILED: Could not run command." Had anyone a idea?
i have change root file framework-res.now my n1 is restarting always. so i need to flash the rom. i have download a lot of rom . but awalys saying"signature verficaton failed "
and before i got the vodafone vision. efp21b. and update to 91. rooted y unlocked.
i think i need the orginal vision of epf21b.
help me . who can give me this rommmmm
Can you push back the original framework file? Maybe a nandroid restore?
If you don't know what you're doing always make a backup.
Best bet is to wipe and reflash whatever you want if you don't have the original framework.
I have installed CM 6.1, maked nandroid backup and somehow, by mistake i have deleted my orginal backup stock ROM from my phone, so i can't make nandroid backup to the stock ROM...
so here's the thing..
if someone can tell me where to download(i dont thin there is), or send me the backup you've made..
pls !
i really need it !

Download your rom from there and flash it. Do remember all app, settings and root will be lost if you do this. So don't forget to do backups.
how can i flash it.. it's .exe file. not supposed to be zip file?

If you open the .exe and connect your phone, it will flash itself.
Or you can open it, go to your temp directory and get the .zip from there.
theres no .zip in temp folder.
Updated rooted Wildfire running custom ROM to official HTC OTA update
Hi,
I have managed to update my rooted Wildfire running a custom rom to the official HTC OTA update.
I tried to update my Wildfire by restoring my pre rooted backup. This did nog work. I got error from clockwise. I ran the following steps to succesfull update my phone.
1. Install HTC Sync. For rooting purposes you had to change the Android PC driver. By installing HTC Sync that driver will be restored to the default.
2. Download a shipped rom from the link above.
3. Connect your booted up Android to your pc.
4. Run the shipped rom executable.
5. After the shipped rom is installed you can download Android OTA. By checking for updates.
Mark
Can't download
I'm trying to download a stock ROM from the above link but it gets about 7MB into the download then fails. Downloading via chrome or IE it does the same.
Is there another location to get the stock ROM from? That site seems a little naff.
Hi guys, my first post in xda forums.
I'm a newbie I don't know anything about rooting, xRecovery, Custom ROMs which you guys talk about. (Yeah, I know what you're thinking now )
I just want to install Gingerbread on my X8
It's running 2.1 with the latest update 2.1.1.A.0.6
So guys, if anyone is eager to help me understand more about these things, and hopefully install Gingerbread on my X8 could you guys please explain clearly??!!!
BTW Is the whole process of rooting and installing gingerbread dangerous? Like...if anything goes wrong will my phone be useless?
Thanks in advance.
If something goes wrong you can reinstall stock Sony Ericsson firmware by SEUS. Which one gingerbread ROM you want?
1. Root your phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906195
2. Install xrecovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878426
There are also two video on youtube; search for: "How to root Xperia X8 on 2.1.1 and install BusyBox" and "How to install xRecovery on Xperia X8 2.1.1" by TechNewsWeeklyMMXI
you can try it, but in your own risk ) .. but I my experience if you have xrecovery installed in your X8, you can always back to the previous ROM.. with no problem..
@ dbts25
Thanks for the links. As for what Gingerbread ROM, I didn't know there were many of them. Can you send me a link where I can see them and decide what to choose?
Here you can find rom from racht http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=914513 and here from jerpelea http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973753
Let's say I choose "2.3.3 CM X8 J005 HACKDROID", then what do I do? :S
A few points:
1: make a backup of your current setup before you flash something else. This is done by running xRecovery and selecting backup. The backup will be in a folder named by the date and time of the backup. This backup you can copy to your pc and then delete from sdcard if you need the space. Backups are in: /sdcard/xrecovery/backup/<backupfolder>
2: you can always use SEUS to get back to stock. Then root and go again
There's 2 ways right now that ppl use for flashing. Some distribute a backup and others distribute an update.zip. Freexperia and mini is distributed as update.zip while racht releases his as backups. If you want to flash a backup then just copy the backup-folder into /sdcard/xrecovery/backup/
If you choose that one you'll download a big file. Inside that file is a few zip files and a folder. The folder contains the sony ericsson stuff you'll need on the phone (basically 2.1.1.A.0.6 afaik). Copy the update.zip to your sdcard and enter xRecovery by pressing back button when the sony ericsson text appears when you boot. Then choose <install update.zip>. If you copy the other two zip's aswell you install these using <install custom zip> option. 1 of them contains live wallpapers, and one contains gapps installer.
Let me get this straight
If I root my phone following this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906195
And install xRecovery and the Gingerbread custom ROM following these videos
1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ls10Og6W89s
and
2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJIU5qIdC-w&feature=related
will I successfully install Gingerbread on my X8?
Oh and something else,
I have heard of some options in xRecovery menu. I'm referring to the factory reset (full wipe) and wipe cache partition. Do I need those?
Yes you need do factory reset in xrecovery before you install custom rom.
If you want to install gingerbread from racht here is steps how to install it:
1. Root phone, install xrecovery
2. In xrecovery do backup of your current rom
3. Download rom and extract it to /xrecovery/backup
4. In xrecovery do factory reset then select backup/restore => restore and select rom
You must have latest firmware from Sony Ericsson (2.1.1.A.0.6)
Will I lose all my data? In that case I should make a backup.
Yes you loose it
Thank you for your time, I'm ready to install the Gingerbread Custom ROM now.
Oh sorry I forgot something.
Do I put the four files of the ROM into SD/xrecovery/Backup
or the folder that contains these files? (cm7-j)
You must put folder there
Ok, no more questions. Thank you so much. I'll start the process right now.
Can you post pleas if all went good and how does it work. Im a newbie as well =)

if you are stuck in boot loop or having difficulty starting your phone, don't worry, there should be a way.
I have experienced this issue today after flashing wrong file causing my phone to stuck in boot loop. after searching in this forum and after spending over 3 hours, I finally managed to restore my phone and it is now working perfectly fine.
therefore, I thought of making a basic guide to try to resolve such issues. please note, this is a very basic guide to resolve problems with starting your phone, I am not professional but will try to share my experience and help anyone in need. this was done on X10i
lets start:
1- if you have a recent back up and have access to xrec, you can simply restore your phone
2- if you have access to xrec but don't have a backup, try to flash a new ROM
I tried the previous two steps but it kept saying can't mount SD, therfore try the following
3- if you don't have xrec access, use the flash tool
download from here http://www.multiupload.com/7H4JT35B6G
then flash generic 2.1 to your x10, I used this one http://www.mediafire.com/?sqv6274anzfzn2x
here is the guide on how to do it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10879528&postcount=3
I have had problem saying "install or re-install drivers", you just need to install the file in the drivers folder in the flash tool main folder and restart the flash tool program
4- after flashing this ROM, restart your phone and root it using the flash tool, after the root your phone will restart, then you need to ask for premession and click xrec to install xrec to your phone
5- before installing new ROM, please make sure that your baseband and karnel is compatible with it (because the ROM you flashed earlier has old karnel and you will be stuck again in the boot loop if you flashed 2.3.3 just like me, then you will need to start again and install new karnel before instaling 2.3.3 ROM or even restore 2.3.3 ROM)
(you can simply install the new ROM then restart in flash mode and flash the new karnel .71 or flash the karnel and restore your backup)
I know that my choices of flash tool version or generic 2.1 version might not be the best, but I used them and resolved my issue and hope it will resolve yours. for any question please do not hesitate to ask me.
credits to everyone who helped, I can't remember everyone because I read quite a lot so please forgive me
nice post my friend
In flash tool I'm getting an error:
ERROR - USB\VID_0FCE&PID_ADDE\5&2BFAB030&0&5
any idea what to do?
it sounds to me that u may need to install the semc flash drivers.. inside the flashtool u may find a folder named drivers, go inside of that folder and install ggsetup.. also do u have pc companion installed?

can you post the log from the flash tool so I can see at which step exactly this massage came up
I am fairly novice when it comes to flashing so here's a pretty dumb question:
I have an X10a, can I use the X10i software that you've linked in your post or is it just going to brick my phone.
