A friend of ours gave us a T-Mobile Google G2. My wife would like to use it on AT&T but its locked to T-Mobile.
I was reading various threads and attempted some of em but with no success. One I read suggested that since its on 2.3.4 that it should be downgraded to 2.2.
I would really appreciate if someone could point out to me a thread that would work with 2.3.4 and potentially put ICS on it.
Thanks in Advance.

I've been searching threads, but alot of them are several months old, can someone post an updated tutorial for rooting a 2.2 Bell Vibrant? Some of the older methods probably wouldn't work and I am starting to pull my hair out searching! Thanks for the help
I'm pretty sure a Bell Vibrant is a I9000?
It is not the same as our T959 though
yes I9000 the superoneclick i believe there is 9000 version that will work or find the specific update file and place on the int sd card
I believe it is an i9000m, which means there is a small difference from the USA phones, thus most of the tutorials won't work for it
bumping for more help!
Did you ever made it to root the i9000M Bell with 2.2.....I am now trying to do it too. Need some help. Thanks
Did you try SuperOneClick?
Hello all i am new to the forum and i just upgraded to Atrix from the the Samsung Galaxy I7500 which did ok, but was slow. Anyway i was wondering if anyone could give me advice on what rom i should use and which is the best and how to do it I have heard that devs are still trying to unlock the boot loader. My Atrix is bought from BELL.
This kind of thread always gets closed.
Theres only three psuedo roms for the Atrix right now, and I don't think any of them are compatible with BELL Atrix.
The bootloader hasnt been unlocked/bypassed yet, so hold on tightly. I'm not sure if the BELL Atrix can flash the 2.22.11(Not sure on the number) update, which has a variety of driver updates, etc. You should research more in the development thread.
Hope I've guided you in the right direction.
Oh sorry I should read the rules sorry, please close this thread thanks i will start searching.
Thanks
Hi! I hope this is being posted in the correct place first and foremost.
I'm pretty pissed to find out today that EE will not be releasing the KitKat update for my G2
I received an email from LG confirming this and so replied with the obvious question 'How can I do it then please? '.
They said I would need to get my phone unlocked from EE. Now, being a complete noob when it comes to this sort of thing I don't really know what I'm doing. So I have a couple of questions I'd like to ask before I attempt any unlocking.
1. Once I've managed to unlock my phone can I still use the Sim Card that came with it? I have a 24 month contract with EE and can't really afford to run two tariffs.....
and
2. Is there not an easier way to go about getting KitKat? I had a Galaxy S2 and when I wanted to upgrade the firmware on there I used ODIN. But I can't seem to find a way that is similar to that for LG phones.......
I apologise if this post is not in the correct thread but I really would appreciate any help anyone could give me.
Many thanks!

well the g2 has a tool like odin if you looked in the general thread there is a return to stock guide which can be used to flash any firmware as long as its for your device, I do know that the d802 can flash any d802 kdz file even if it's for another carrier, I do not own one but you can always ask around to make sure you don't do something wrong
Hey guys... it's been a while since I've been on XDA.. I can't say I'm much of a developer anymore so bear with me as I work 2 jobs and don't have a computer anymore to do ultra fast searching..
So I'm looking to root my VZW LG G2 on 4.4.2 but I'm running tmobile.. I'm not looking to run AOSP, if I was I'd already know the answer to these questions... I'm looking to flash a G3 port, any reccomendations? And on these stock roms what do I have to do to get my baseband working for tmobile? I read that optimusg3 would work on the vzw variant with the vzw baseband flashed, but is that necessary with me using tmobile? Would it be better to just flash a tmobile baseband? I'm not used to these multi-carrier phones... BACK IN MY DAY SONNY WE HAD DIFFERENT MODELS FOR DIFFERENT CARRIERS LOL.
Final annoyance if someone wouldn't mind making my life easier and provide a link for a tutorial of rooting with kit Kat that way when I'm in front of a computer I'll be able to get right to work without going search crazy..
Thanks all!!
I'm glad to be back!!!!!
TL;DR Help a newbie with upgrading my rooted Note 3 from 4.4.2 to a more current version please. I'm old and dumb and really tried to find an answer before embarrassing myself on a forum of experts. Knowing me, the answer is probably right under my nose. Go easy on me <3
Hey guys,
I used the search function on this site and on google but was unable to find what I'm looking for.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with T-Mobile. I have Android aversion 4.4.2 and my model number is SM-N900T.
I rooted my phone using a guide I found on youtube to get superuser for the purpose of being able to play emulators on my phone, such as Snes9x EX+, Nostalgia.NES Lite, ePSXe, etc. They all work great. I am not using a custom ROM.
The problem I'm facing is that I don't understand if I need to unroot (correct term?) my phone and just get the auto updates, or to download and install them manually, but I'm unable to receive auto updates over the air as I'm sure you guys would know since this is your hobby and are versed in this sort of thing. I don't even know how to do either really properly but am not afraid to try.
The reason I'm wanting to upgrade now (which might be completely unrelated) is that I haven't been receiving text messages from either my sister or my roommate, whom both of their last messages were received by me on Aug. 5th. I tried contacting my carrier and they said they didn't detect a problem. Both of their carriers said the same thing (one being T-Mobile as well). I guess this is just another step in troubleshooting but I would like to believe this is a network issue.
Any advice would help and would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
