hard brick - Galaxy S I9000 General

My phone is hard brick, it shows black screen. How can I fix?

What do you mean with black screen? Display is completely off or does it show anything? Does your phone show any reaction or nothing at all?

If your device is really hard bricked. There's only one way .Your i9000's motherboard is need for change and it costs you like 70$
How did you bricked your device? accidently check re-partition when flashing kernel?
Electricity went off? Unplugged the cable when odin was sayin' "DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET" ?

My phone was also bricked(no reaction at all) , and I used unbrickable resurrector to get it into dl mode. I think you only have to let repair your phone when hardware is dead.

My phone's ~ 2 years old and is showing its age. Folks at the service centre suggested that I change the motherboard. Would you help me with a few links to the sellers of that please.

Probably not necessary. Use the search function for Adam outler's unbrickable mod. It is impossible to brick a galaxy s1. Your motherboard being knackered, is of course a different matter......

Thank you very much. Have posted a reply in that thread

You can try to enter download mode with the 3 button combo but with the battery out.
While you press "vol down" + "home button" + "power" slide in your battery with you cheek !

Firstly, you need to post more info..
Secondly, did you have 3button recovery or download mode before flash? Do they not work now?
Thirdly, you needed to post this in the q&a section.
Fourthly, let this be a lesson for people to be careful when doing things for thier phones.. An expensive brick is still just a brick!

If you can't get download or recovery working the only option you have is make the jig to try to get it working again, or send the phone back saying it broke and you don't know what happened.
Also just for kicks try heating the back with ha hair dryer and then using three button combo to get to download.. some have said that works.. lol
Other than that i'm not sure anyone can help.

I don't want to post in here and spam but i think some of you are being a bit harsh.
Mistakes do happen. Im pretty sure some of you with sarcastic comments have made mistakes in the past too.
Also from the op's post it doesn't look like English is his first language. So posting taking the piss isn't going to help in the slightest.

I'm in a similar predicament - while flashing Darky 7.0 via ROM manager, during the clockworkmod phase, and before being completed, the screen went black -- and has remained that way ever since.
Doesn't respond to three button, download mode, or any power on combination. I ordered a jig and will try that as a last resort, but not really holding out much hope.
Is there some other way? Otherwise, I'm getting ready to ship it back to Samsung. Should I send to Korea, Singapore or elsewhere for best service (am currently in USA).

Do you mean the SGS does not power on at all? Or it goes black at some point during boot-up?
If it's the latter, there is still some hope (with the jig you ordered). Otherwise, it probably needs to be sent in for repairs (within US, why would you want to send it to Korea / Singapore!? Is it an international model you bought elsewhere?)
/also, check the battery first

Unbrick Samsung Vibrant If it stuck on Samsung Screen Method

Hi
I found a tool that helped me to unbrick my phone without buying the usb jig since you dont need it as long as you see it boots
its a very easy way, if your phone doesnt go to recovery or download mood using the 3 button method
download this file http://www.multiupload.com/AGK2BBUDGQ
once you download abtool
extract it and put it to your C drive , so it look like c:/abdtool
connect your vibrant via usb to your computer even if it stuck at samsung screen
choose which you want, the recovery or download mood, and click on either recovery.bat or download.bat
and it will take you to it
hope that helped
Regards,
Sami
*LOL* what to say...
You do understand that you only need the jig if you phone wont turn on at all and display NO screen, virbant or otherwise, right?

You also managed to fix it without a wrench.
You fixed it without a spoon.
You fixed it without a power drill, a cucumber or an orgasm.
All of which are equally relevant.

Wrong. If your phone is hardware locked, and you are stuck at the Vibrant screen, you NEED the JIG. Don't berate someone for trying to help, when you yourself don't know what you are talking about.

My phone i guess is a newer version, wont let me go to download mode while holding both up and down then connect it the usb from computer to the phone
so this was the only method that worked, other than using a Jig
you can also use this guide for a true brick (No Jig needed. I know it works it is how I brought mine back to life.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848737
you could also use the Android SDK which has the adb tools which will allow you to reboot into recovery
you can also use this guide (even though you don't need all of it)

hmmm might write my own guide

Explain please?
JTAG is a method that involves creating a serial connection from your computer to your phone to get into the mainboard and making changes. It involves about $80 in hardware costs plus you'll need decent electronics knowledge. There's a guide in the Wiki on how to do it, but it's no simple task.

[Q] HTC HD2 Problem. HELP HELP HELP!!!

hi, i bought a hd2 off eBay and the guy i bought it off had tried to install android on the NAND memory and it now wont turn on. i have tried the hard reset, the phone will vibrate once when you press the power button then go to a clear screen, like the back-light is just on i need help urgently.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but have you tried powering on while holding the volume down button?

If you can not get to the bootloader by holding down the volume down button while powering on then the HD2 is bricmed and will ha e to have a JTAG used on it or replace the mainboard. Sorry friend but it sounds like the guy you bought it from new this when he sold it.
You're best off disputing it on eBay and trying to get your money back as to JTAG a device is a complicated procedure. He probably flashed a bad radio which lead to the phone dying (not battery).

Same problem here - fortunately, I've still got access to the bootloader
If you can't get into the HSPL bootloader by holding the volume control down, so that you can reflash the NAND ROM then I would dispute via eBay. Especially if the ad showed the HD2 to be operating correctly.
i bought the phone as is because the guy i bought it off read somewhere it can be fixed he couldn't understand how to do it and apparently yo can take out the nand memory and put a working one in.

My knowledge of ebay rules & regs isn't great, but from the sounds of it the guy's done nothing wrong. If he sold it to you having stated that a component needed replacing and that it was sold 'as-is' then I imagine you've got no comeback. Have you looked into the problem yourself? (ie how much to change the mobo on an hd2?)
Sorry dude, but I think this is one of those 'learn from' mistakes. Hopefully you didn't pay much or can at least sell it on in the same condition...

Sorry but like I said before the only two ways to fix a bricked HD2 like you have is to use a JTAG on it or replace tbe intior mainboard. The NAND chip is not replacable as it is secured by a hard opoxy that requires a very higb temperature to melt and this will ruin the CPU and the intior mainboard. Go to the thread I linked below and read you will seewhat I mean.

+1. JTAG is most likely your only logical shot here. Not many do it, I do this for HD2's but I see you not in the US and may not want to send it to me. Good luck with whatever you decide!

[Q] Surely I've bricked my Galaxy S

Hi,
I've searched and searched and I actually come to the conclusion that it is certainly bricked but all the related answers have somewhat different problems not exactly the same as mine.
Basically I was doing a firmware upgrade from 2.2.1 to 2.3.3 with Odin and it failed right at the end, the phone was stuck on the android download screen and Odin stopped.
I could not do anything, the phone wouldn't get out of that state and Odin was finished. I took out the battery and now the phone does not turn on on any mode. Tried simply turning on the phone, nothing, recovery mode, nothing, download mode, nada... The phone simply does not do anything, it is as if it didn't have any battery.
The conclusion I guess is that it is bricked and nothing can be done other than going down to service but would like to triple check just in case.
Grateful for any help.
Thanks
