The amazing punk.kaos has a froyo 2.2 Rom up and running, it is in his froyo V7 thread the update to V8 is in his thread page 32 I think, just wanted to start a thread to thank him and please donate to him and other devs that worked on this Rom, not sure who all did, so devs please post Ur donate site and everyone please donate for there time and woek

MarkDenvers Rom DisCon... Any developer to Continue?
hey guys am not sure about others but this was defo my faverate rom, very stock like, it was fast and every release had a very few if any bugs. the last release was amazing. am still using it, it was my first custom rom and i think it will prob be my last unless a clean un problemed cyanogan is released any time soon. probably never though as cyanogen has not even one rom which is clean of all bugs for most devices yet lol

so is any developer going to continue this rom, i read mark is taking email requests by developers.
all the rom really needs is a few new google app updates, a new kernan, a radio app and speed up tweaks like cyanogen has, mark did not like modding the rom too much as he kept it as stock as possible, but i think a good developer can do amazing thing with this rom as mark has done all the hardwork giving a clean 100% 2.3.5 with no bugs at all.
developers should speak to mark asap for permission on continuing this sikk rom.

Check out Ch33ky's Oxygen Rom, very similar(much better IMHO) to Marks. It is near stock in form and function with a lot of tweaks and great battery life. Best AOSP based Rom out there and its not close.
Could someone please clean this thread, and maybe set one sticky titled "no more cry about lack of official ICS for Galaxy S I-9000, please" ?
Currently, everyone who is above 7y.o., reads somewhere that Galaxy S will have not ICS, then immediately announces this disaster in new thread here, instead of going with cry to his/her mum shouting: "mummy, mummy, those ugly uncles from Samsung will not give me the ICS, could you kick them or tell daddy!!!111".
Announcements, petitions, prays, God only know what else... seriously? Is the XDA wall of cry for any kiddo?
Nearly all devs are going to take them ROM at ICS, it shouldn't be a problem that ICS doesn't come officially to our SGS1 .. CyanogenMod wasn't a official ROM or Firmware as well

I am a noob lol
I have a Acer_A500_7.066.01_com_Gen (not rooted)Running on 3.2 only got download for this a few days ago.
Is the UK going to get ics? Or is there a way to download it my self?
If so could some one give me a step-by-step guide as I am a noob.

[/COLOR]There are a 2 (maybe 3) ICS Roms currently available.
1. Look in the DEV sub forum for the leaked ICS rom. This is pretty close to what the official ACER rom will look like when it finally comes out.
2. There is a dev here called Protekk. (he is the maybe above) no real info on his stuff, but search here about it.
3. There is a fully working (minus camera) ICS ROM that is very well received by a dev who does not post his work here. Search for "Tegra Owners Forum" via google to find his link. He is also the dev that got CWM working for the Acer.
For any of the above, you will need to Root your device. There are lots for threads on that in these forums.

as of right now there is no release of ics for our acers.
if you are refering to the "leak " scene on another thread, it is being used by the great, hard working devs to make us our ics. saying that if you are stating that you are a noob, than i really suggest you dot screw arround with what has been "leaked" or you will probably regret it as people are having some problems trying to flash this rom.
there is an ics rom out there with some minor bugs but you will have to search for that yourself
i would just wait and there will be some stable roms out soon

I so agree with Dr .. this acer ics leak is a Dev alpha build its missing a apps and components from the ICS That acer will release..It is also very likely that you will have to flash back to 3.2.1 to update to the acer ics rom when they push it OTA. as this rom has a new boot loader that seems to be Completely different
Big warning.. if you flash this . YOU MUST GET YOUR UID SAVE AND SOUND FIRST.. AS THIS NEW BOOT LOADER IS SUSPECTED TO BE CHANGING IT. This will prevent you from reverting back..
as far as the other rom mentioned above well only thing i will say . Read more about it before you flash. IT However is safe as far as the ability to return to Stock.
good luck If you are not comfortable flashing your tablet i suggest to wait or do much more reading. Asking for a step by step without basic knowledge is Dangerous..

You are correct to say that Thors rom seems to work well. But the op clearly (not meant to be disrespectful to OP) does not have the knowledge to do the downgrade to root procedure . Nor do i believe he wants to Do so.I think just finding and following a walk thru without atlest some knowledge is dangerous. But If he decides to and wants to try a Stock ics . Thor's ics is likely the safest way to go..
I just believe myself that if someone has to ask they should read more. And not become flash happy. Even following a tutorial can go wrong.. ALSO KNOW how to get out of trouble up front.Just in case something goes wrong.
There is no right answer. its about comfort level of the Person.
Asking questions before hand isn't a bad thing. It also doesn't show they don't know what they are doing. I ask questions, but I have a general feel for what I'm doing.

There is a big community of people here who cannot enjoy custom kernel because of a locked bootloader (like me) and hence having a good and bug-free ICS or JB is not possible for them.
I respect the developers and their awesome work but only the KERNEL is what the problem is!
So I humbly request the devs to create a stable ICS or Jellybean rom (please) as we are not able to enjoy them on our lovely but unfortunately newer X8's after 11W29 (i already got my phone hard bricked once in order to try unlocking the bootloader at 11W44)
if i knew how to do that then i already had started the project...
Please promote this thread so it can reach those developers eligible to do this... :angel:

You are contradicting yourself.
ICS and JB roms don't work properly with custom kernels (Some bugs). So how can you think that they would work on stock kernel ?

even though how kind hearted the dev would be to do this i think it's just not possible even nAa said that it's impossible.Even Gb roms for stock today have some bugs or sometimes laggy. my advice...... get a new phone :good:
