I would think you need to do a full wipe from whichever CM you are on.
Hockeyfamily has a thread for this in the dev section. He and others are working on an ics version so don't know how often updates will come thru'. The current version works fine for me right now, tho'.

New owner some quick questions please :)

I have a new nook on its way to me and ive been reading up as much as I can on the potential this device has.
From what I have gathered so far it seems best to install Phiremod on this device.I dont have any real interest in the Barnes and noble software as I prefer Alkido and use this alot on my current tablet. I also want as trouble free experience as possible.
Questions I have are as follows:-
1) Is phiremod v7 worth going for yet? Or should I stick to 6.3?
2) Is it worth upgrading the tablet to B&N 1.2 update and using ManualNooter 4.6.16 to root it or should I stick with 1.11 and use something else? What is best here or does it not matter?
3) Can I use phiremod as my main rom installed to the internal hd and have say one of the honeycomb mods or cm7 run from a sd card? Naturally the sd would need a menu for this.
Many thanks to any help in advance
1) Phiremod is kinda old. I suggest the latest CM7 nightly, or MIUI (which is extremely simple to use)
2) If you install custom ROM, the BN Software is trashed. What's the point upgrading?
3) Stick with a good functional OS on the internal hd (call it the emmc) and put an OS you like but is not stable on the sd card.
1) But what about the latest version? I understand its based on a recent cm7 nightly anyway? Maybe you were not aware of it.
2) Yes this was what I wondered. Thanks for the confirmation.
3) Yes I was thinking this.So I can have say cm7 or a variation on main drive then honeycomb on sd then from what your saying. Thats great. Thanks
I believe Phiremod was built on cm7 and development has either stopped or is well behind. I would also recommended CM7 though. It really makes this device very useful.

Phiremod is just a themed version of CM7. The stable release of Phiremod is based of CM 7.0.3 and the test version of Phiremod is based off cm nightly 110 or something like that.
So yes Phiremod is outdated and the CM 7 nightlies and Miui releases are the most current roms you can get.
Thanks alot for the info guys I will go with cm7

Froyo Custom ROM -> Gingerbread Custom ROM

I currently have Liberty X 2.0.1 (Froyo based) installed on my Droid X and was looking to upgrade to Cyanogenmod, which is Gingerbread based. My question is what's the procedure I have to go through to get from Liberty to Cyanogenmod? Sorry for the newbie question.
If u know how to sbf I would just go to cm7.com and install the latest nightly for the droidx and flash it right of foyo and if the didn't work sbf to gingerbread and try it from there but I haven't had cm7 on my phone in a while but I'm pretty sure I installed it right from foyo becauae I remember coming from liberty to cm7 and loved it

No offense to this guy, but I think i should clear it up a little bit. Since you are on froyo it will be easier to go to the official CM7 nightlies because, even though they are gingerbread, they run off of the froyo kernel.
There are unofficial nightlies that run off of the gingerbread kernel already, but it will be very complicated process to get there.
Here some tested instruction on how to get on the official and unofficial nightlies. Let me know if you have any questions!
http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?1633-HOW-TO-Installing-CM4DX-or-CM4DXGB
Go to the link below, it explains the process in great detail. If you want to use the "official" nightlies (based on Froyo kernel) then do the section titled "for froyo kernel rom". Don't worry, it's still gingerbread based, just using the froyo kernel.
If you want to go to CM7 based on gingerbread kernel then you'll have to get to gingerbread .596, .602 or .605 first. Read the section titled "for gingerbread kernel rom".

I just went from .605 to RevNumbers' CM4DXGB the other day, loving it so far. He just came out with a new release which is on page 375 or 376 of his ROM thread. I haven't tried that yet but will probably update this weekend.

[Q] Hulu Plus app on rooted NC

Now that Barnes and Noble has announced that Hulu Plus is compatible with the NC, will we be able to get it on a stable cm7 mod rather than modifying the build.prop file on nightly version? I tried modifying the build.prop file while running nightlies but could never get Hulu Plus videos to play. I prefer running a stable mod over nightlies anyway. Now that the app is officially compatible with the NC, will I be able to run it on a rooted version running cm7 stable or will I need to flash back to stock?
I posted this in the themes and app forum for nook how to do this without modifying anything

[Q] ICS MIUI for Defy+ (GB Kernel)

Ok, I think the title is clear enough but, I'd like to know if there are any MIUI ROMs for the Motorola Defy Plus with a 2.3 (GB) Kernel. Thing is, I have Quarx's CM9 on Multiboot but I'd love to try ICS MIUI on it, but I understand I have to flash Froyo Kernel but don't know what would that do to my CM9 I'm so in love with.
I've searched all the threads on xda and the web but I haven't been able to find what I'm looking for.
Thanks!
Unfortunately Currently there is no miui build that works on gb kernel.

Thanks for the reply! Is there another rom that I should try? I don't really know about another interface for 4.0 but it would surely be great if there were one.
Edit: I have another question, is there a way to install a froyo kernel on multiboot so i can keep cm9 (GB) on my default boot? I already have multiboot but I'm not sure if flashing wiui, for example, will damage the other rom.
Look at the miui ics thread by sesme

Well as far as I know multi boot requires same kernel for the roms. I don't know if any recent development has changed it. You may check multi boot thread.

What is the best version of 4.1.2 for the TF101?

As far as performance and stability is concerned? I dont want to sacrifice that for experimental features.

Well, it is hard to say. You should try them out and see what you like.
I was running the TeamEOS 3 (up to build 89) and they were quite stable. I had switched to the ParanoidAndroid/CM Hybrid by MattmanWRX and it was just as stable. Many users love the LiquidSmooth ROM as well.
I moved up to the TeamEOS 4 (build 90 and beyond) as it is Android 4.2 and feels smoother and faster than the 4.1 builds.
My best advice is to try a few out and see what you like.
I would highly recommend using TWRP instead of CWM recovery, and for the love of Android, do NOT use ROM Manager to install or update CWM on a TF101.
I've been using the official Cyanogenmod (CM-10.0) nightly for a few months. Decided to change to TeamEOS 4 a couple of weeks ago because progress on Cyanogenmod for this tablet has been slow and no stable build seems to be on the horizon. But today I moved back to the official Cyanogenmod (cm-10-20130217-NIGHTLY-tf101.zip). Although fast and pretty, I found TeamEOS 4 too buggy and unreliable. CM-10.0 may not be the latest Android version, and it is still a nightly release, but their standards for stability are high and it is a reliable 4.1.2. So I humbly suggest CM-10.0.

TWRP is definitely the way to go, I just installed it last week after a long time of using CWM 3.something, and it's SO much better. I did so after installing CWM touch using ROM Manager... oops!
As for the room, I've been using Rayman's CM10 version with KatKernel. Fast and stable.
raymans cm 10.1 android 4.2 with his cooked rom.. the one marked xmas release.. everything works...EVERYTHING... no crashes.. smooth n awesome.. make sure in performance you set the cpu/gov there.. and not use external apps ) hmm i cant test the hdmi but forsure everything else works flawlessly..
but i want rootbind of linux on here.. so gonna check out I.C.S roms.. then try to rootbind linux )but raymans v8 from xmas owns...haave not seen a device not being auto reconized by the tablet...and they dont need to be plugged in before reboot either.. i bow to rayman )) this rom only needs raymans completed 3.1 kernal.. he stopped work on..?
I was never able to find a 4.1.2 rom i was happy with
