I'm wondering if someone is working on getting, or already got a hold of the U8800-51 kernel sources to start working on a custom ROM for this model, it would benefit AT&T's Impulse 4G owners, Entel's IDEOS X5 owners, and everyone else with this phone!
I heard about Huawei's comment on its Facebook page saying that this particular model won't be getting any updates, so... it's like... they are wasting precious independent developer's time not publishing the kernel sources!
Maybe I didn't made my homework well and they did publish it and someone has it, maybe that someone could reply this thread and tell the community how to get it?
If I start a petition to Huawei, would you guys sign it to get them to publish it? Thanks!

It would be helpful if you could say which section he was supposed to post the request. I was under the impression that the "General" section is the right place for such questions/discussions.

Upon a quick glance, The combination CM7/Miui is based off of Longhorn 2.6. Even the build.prop hasn't been changed. And only more apps added.

I think MIUI 2.5.25 may just be 2.4.20 or it has some reference to that in the build.prop.

I agree for the most part... just for the heck of it I flashed and its really just build.prop changes and no real changes to the ROM except for a couple apps.... just as most of the chinese ROMs are

A friend of mine asked me to compile my custom rom from source CustoNexus for his Arc, he isn't rooted yet, so he's quite careful with it haha.
Since i've built it anyways, I was thinking about releasing it in the forums, but I don't have an Arc to test on.
Before i release this into the wild development section, i'd like to ask to test you guys if you want to test THIS ROM on your arc/arc S and tell me how its like.
CustoNexus is a ROM based on CM&PA sources with our own custom overlay such as custom apps, ringtones, a kernel built with linaro, our own setup wizard and many more to come.
I built it with the 'anzu' device tree from FXP.
RESULTS:
Arc: untested yet
Arc S: untested yet

So here you go what I have done till now!
Firstly i build a full ota fixing all issue's! Then tested rom
it booted but non of the sims nor wifi was working
secondly i fixed all smali releated to RIL the rom is not
booting the logcat says the jar is stale or corrupted! So
now fixing jars one by one android.policy has been fixed
need to test it! If it works I will fix other jar if it didn't then
have to see the main problem! So whoever is best in smali
please inbox me so that we can get miui asap!
