Anyone have strong suggestions for the samsung dock KB or the logitech BT one? Both look solid... is there another suggested KB I may not be looking at?
Finding myself wanting to take this to meetings now rather than my large ThinkPad.
Edit... son of a ((#$($//// could have sworn I was in the accessories section. My bust.
I have the Logitech and its great. A breeze to setup and a number of handy shortcut keys

Samsung Dock or Logitech
I just sold my Samsung keyboard dock and bought the Logitech case keyboard today. Both are nice. I like that the Logitech makes up a case, the and is bluetooth so it could technically work with any phone or tablet. I was also a bit disappointed that the Samsung dock doesn't really work much better than a bluetooth. For instance, the onscreen keyboard still pops up when you tap the screen. I expect that with bluetooth, but an OEM keyboard should be better.
I liked the Samsung keyboard okay, but like the Logitech too. Both are nice. (Tip: the Logitech is at Target for $59.99. Still $100 online last I checked.)
The Samsung OEM BT keyboard is terrific. It doubles as a case and adds very little bulk. You can also place the keyboard face down (it has rubber stops) so it doubles as a stand. It's pricey though. It's actually cheaper to buy it in the UK. With FedEx shipping it comes out to $110 USD. (www.handtec.com)

Is it a dock?
No. It's not a dock. There isn't one.

I'm guessing it's this one: http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/LC.KBD0A.014 since the OP is purposefully being vague.
Definitely some issues with functionality. BT connects fine, but there are several dedicated function buttons that don't work at all or don't work as they are labeled.
Browser button doesn't open default browser, same for mail, camera, and music. The forward button opens Winamp??? The lock button does not wake and unlock as the manual says. All the essential keys work correctly including the arrows, tabs, etc.
But if you are just using this to type, it is great. The keys are well-sized and have a solid action. Makes me think that I could leave the laptop at home on a business trip.
EDIT: Sorry to be vague about the model, I didn't know that there were other Acer BT keyboards options.

It looks very nice, but what is this about some keys not working correctly.
That is not really very good, coming from the manufacturer of the tablet and functionality not right?
As said it looks good and I wouldnt mind one, but I think for the price it should do what it says on the tin or no good.
Just my two cents...

Looks too much like an Apple product (eww).
Apple keyboards are the biggest proof of the stupid public buying into Apple's garbage. It's the cheapest junk to make and the chiclet keys are so awful that companies tried them originally years ago, but the public felt they were too cheap and didn't feel good. Apple slaps their logo on it and people buy that junk.
I bought my Xoom keyboard off Amazon for $55 including shipping and all the function keys work just fine with my A500. I've also heard the Apple bluetooth keyboard works just fine with it also, I think $70 retail but lacks the shortcut keys of course.
I'm using the Palm Bluetooth keyboard just fine with the A500. No, the dedicated function keys don't work, but this is a pretty close to full-size QWERTY keyboard with 5 rows, so it's doing a great job. Folds in half so it stores small. The hinge has a nice lock for typing on the lap. Paired quickly and easily, no lag, etc.

http://1saleaday.com/wireless/ has the G-Tech Bluetooth Wireless Fabric Keyboard with Adjustable Key Sensitivity & ElekTex Flexible Technology
for ten bucks shipped. I just ordered it and won't have any idea about compatability or usefullness until I get it. But I imagine that it should be just fine.
Since it is a deal a day site. These deals are here one minute and gone the next.
I'll post a quickie review when it comes in.
EDIT; I just got back from reading the reviews at Amazon... Doesn't look good at all. Might work with the tablet, might not. Buy at your own risk. Next time I read the reviews first... DOH!
This would be really cool if it worked well!

Yeah, be nice if it works. I do not expect it too, but if I have any success I will post it here. The device actually requires an app installed on a pc or windows mobile phone(not the new windows phone) to work. There's like maybe a 2% chance that it will.
Sorry about cluttering the board with this...
At first I thought 'interesting' then I read the Amazon reviews, as you did, then I thought 'ouch'.
I thought I was the only only one to say meh its only ten dollars! Im still waiting and hoping it works at least twice.LOL
Im hoping this will work with the phone since the 10 amazon one wont because of outdated drivers. (works for HC though LOL)!
I bought this keyboard only to find out about it, after i got it home, that it does not work with android.
I do have a touchpad and it is suppose to work with palm OS so perhaps it will work on that tablet.
Anyone get it to work on android device or the touchPad running WebOS?
Gary
Hey guys, check this out:
[ok i'm not able to post external links, but search for blue piano]
This may work on the keyboard. Someone has tried it, but there are issues with the keyboard sending extraneous characters.

Found the app in the market... BluePiano.
It does seem to pick up the keystrokes. I've only tried the demo version. I think that those extra characters are a "feature" of the demo. Lol it is a 20 dollar app so the price of this cheap keyboard just went to the next level.
Thanks so much for the tip. I may get the app when I get paid.
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a bluetooth keyboard for my Xoom. I was looking at the Logitech MK320 mouse/keyboard combination, but I wasn't sure if I'd have to use the supplied dongle. (Since the Xoom doesn't have a regular USB port...)
Would this work? If not, does anyone have a keyboard that they'd recommend?
Thanks for the advice in advance...
I personally use the apple Bluetooth keyboard and trackpad, connected using twelvesouth's magic wand (twelvesouth.com/products/magicwand/).
It's remarkable how well the trackpad works with the tablet, as well as the keyboard (the keys for volume, music control, etc, work).
Perhaps a bit pricey, but I'm actually really glad I went this route. Makes a great little setup together with the Motorola Xoom dock, too

I really like the Motorola Bluetooth keyboard. I also just bought the Xoom keyboard folio case. Works great with the Moto BT mouse. Never liked a trackpad, myself.
The motorola keyboard was on sale with a mouse at forty bucks, it still might be. Thats what I use. The mouse is annoying to repair every time, but the keyboard works great and the android buttons are really useful. It wakes right up and works immediately, and its small and light and exceedingly portable.
Howdy,
Believe it or not, I use a Microsoft bluetooth keyboard with my Xoom and it works pretty good. I got it at a good price online, but here's the link if you're curious:

I have to agree w/ @brianmortiarty. The keyboard is great. The mouse came free with mine and works perfectly. In total it was $40 shipped.

That is great value for money, despite my personal preference for trackpads.

This one arrived today. Going to charge it up and see how it works.
Initial thoughts -
Tablet fits in perfectly and the Velcro is very very heavy duty professional grade Velcro. No way the tablet is falling out or coming off.
The plastic removable keybaord is WAY WAY better then the silicone one I got in another portable keyboard folio and seems much much nicer. Should not have the sticking key issue.
More soon.
Initial pairing was fast and easy and this keyboard rocks.
Has some built in function keys working well also. Taking some pictures.
youtube video
No point in taking pictures - just check out this youtube video
only negatives i see so far are this
- it is a tiny bit larger then other keyboard folios, but very nice material and construction.
- no backside opening for camera so you would have to take out of holder to use if taking pictures. This is not a big deal for me.

It looks nice thanks for the share
Can't wait to here how it is going. Glad I saw your other post about the other bluetooth folio before I picked one up.

So far it is the perfect case. Sure it is not the smallest ever, but it is also NOT the biggest. The keyboard works as well as my normal keyboard. It pairs and stays connected. Battery life has been great, and I now have my USB port back available for a wireless mouse.
The material and feel - feels considerably nicer then the cheap overseas ones I was trying.
I have to say this is a great case and for now my every day case.
Looks really great. I'm instantly added it to my shopping list.
How about weight? Is it heavy?
And do you need to remove tablet from this case to charge it? It looks like one of the holders cover charger input.

nope - if you use the larger corner velcro holding pieces there are openings along both sides so all ports are available and open.
Really works great.
i would not say it is heavy, but it is very protective thick on the top and bottom and it is a solid keyboard and not a crappy silicone one.
If you are looking for an ipad quality android tablet this is it. And so much more. The pixels per inch on this device creates a screen so sharp it makes me feel all warm inside just looking at it. The UI is smooth, fluid and snappy. And the pen rivals that of the surface pro, its like writing on paper my handwriting looks exactly the same. Text recognition is pretty spot on, with similar functions of onenote. For example, Snote now allows me to jot my notes, then select a section of them to transfer right to text. Or if you prefer handwritten, those are fully searchable as well. Not to mention a built in swype keyboard that us android users have All come to know and love is a pleasure to use the pen with may I add. Pair that with a growing and gorgeous looking (on this device) app store and you have a tablet to contend with, well, pretty much anything. Oh, you also get 600 dollars worth of free services including Dropbox and evernote. They were even nice enough to throw in $25 worth of Google store credit, and 50 Samsung bux. I truly feel love toward this device. If you have any questions feel free to ask, but I might be too busy enjoying my new tablet. Dont take my word for it. Go test this beast at best buy before you inevitably buy.
Side note, I purchased the 10.1 note late this summer and unloaded it off Craigslist in anticipation for this device. This device en fully fixes all the flaws I saw with the older version.
Google, Samsung, I'm currently looking for work.
I haven't used this cloth since I bought my 09 mbp. Thought it was appropriate
