help needed am new to android, i recently flashed android 2.2 froyo onto my htc hd2 which has a 8gb sd card in it . when i connect my phone to my pc and select the disk drive option, the drive whic opens up is is 199 mb and contains several folders including android secure. now i get warnings about my disk space being low when am installing apps, where has my 8gb sd card gone to?
You more then likely installed WP7 onto your HD2, formatting your memory card to a special ext.
Google SDFormatter v3, copy contents of your SD card to your PC.
Use card reader and take micro sd from HD2.
Run the program, it will ERASE THE ENTIRE MICRO SD CARD, put back on your files you transferred over.
Are you using a SD card build or are you using a NAND ROM? If you are running a NAND ROM did you partition your SD card for A2SD?
As the post above me said save your files from SD card to your computer and reformat your SD card. Do a full wipe of it and use Fat 32. But I don't know why the post above me said anytbing about WP7 as you didn't say anything about WP7.
yes i had installed WP7 on it before flashing android on it. its a nand ROM. THANKS
After I installed WP7 rom & done a few re-boots all is fine using a 16gig card which shows in the "about" Total storage 14.63 GB.
I then make an image copy of the SD card using minitool partition or easeus using another 16gig SD card which I then put in the HD2 & WP7 booted fine, so now I have 2 16gig Cards that can work with "this" flashed ROM.
I then proceed to make this card to "Dual Boot" following the procedures here or on the Net which I successfully done a few times BUT there are times that the procedure would fail, when inserted WP7 would give an SD card not recognized error.
I now use the SDcard that was used to flashed this ROM, it has never been touched or modified BUT to my dismay WP7 will also not recognized this SD card
What happened here?
I have read in one Procedure that the size of the partition for WP7 should be bigger or more than Half the size of the SD card, is it so? & why is this?
Hi guys, so I backed up my sd card and went on a little quest. Never knew what this did so tried it out, went onto clockwork and did an sd partition of 1024mb. Turned phone on sd card worked fine, tried installing a big game but still it said not enough space when there is 2.5gb empty on sd card. So that failed I went onto MAGLDR and onto services and cleared sd partition. Now I turn phone on and it says no sd card and prompts me to format it on status bar, but then it still doesn't work. Tried mounting it via usb but still the sd card is not showing up. Has my sd card corrupted? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also some instructions on how to properly install apps 2 sd, as just moving to the sd card on settings doesn't fully move the app, some of it still remains in the internal and after installing 50+ apps it comes down to 20mb internal memory and says I have no more internal space.
Regards

if a rom supports a2sd (typhoon, for example,) you do not have to do anything, it will automatically use an ext partition if it finds one.
If you choose 'move to sd card' for an app, it will be REMOVED from the ext partition, and placed on the fat32 partition (where it may not work), so DO NOT choose 'move to sd', all your apps should be set to internal, and the rom will put them in the ext partition.

Well, i would start with HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool to format the sd card back to original. Then start from there.

And @samsamuel wouldnt he benefit more from data2ext? From my experiences, that puts EVERYTHING on the ext partition. just puting my two cents in, (its about all i got xP )

Depends on what your needs are, .,,, running everything from the SD means much of the nand is unused, what's the point of that? Typhoon for instance,, 150mb system, say 20mb for cwm and boot, that's (round up) 200mb used out of 512,, nothing is gonna use the other 300mb, so might as well let the data use it.
Right I'm running this ice ROM off the nand: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441462
[22-04-12][ROM] Unofficial AOKP for HD2 [Build 33][4.0.4][tytung_ics_r1]
It does say apps2sd is possible on thread op, so would I just partition my SD card on clockwork to 1024mb then just install apps without moving them to SD manually? Is that really it?

True, thats why i dont use either, i have the Tmous version so i ihave about 760 mb of unused nand. Only way id prolly use a partition is if i got a lot of bad blocks, but i only have about 5 bad blocks right now in just my data partition.

Yes, yes it is just partition sd card using minitool partition or disk utility(linux) and you should be good, i dont believe you have to reinstall the ROM either because apps2sd is an init.d script which gets ran upon boot.
Hey Folks,
I'm using my HD2 in Dual Boot with WP7 and Android on extra SD Partition. I've installed WP7 on NAND Memory and all the data like Apps, Music and Pics are stored in a 10GB Partition on my SD Card. I created a second partition with the 6GB wich are left from my 16GB SD Card. There i placed some different Android SD Build Roms. They are all running fine on my HD2 and i can boot without any problems into Android SD.
My only problem is that my Android SD Build doesnt recognize any SD Storrage Card. I cant put any Pics or Music on my Android or even download something with Android. Is there a way to get the Android Partition on my SD Card as SD Storrage?
Would be prety cool to have a solution for this problem.
Thanks and Greets

Thanks man,
I was struggeling with this problem for a long time. So simple but never tryed that out. Now finaly it works.
So I am running CM7 off of an sd card in my nook color.(Using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1904129 and I highly recommend). Win32discimager for some reason created a small partition just larger than the installer which remains on the card. I also have the android OS on the card that is taking up 1 gb partition. The rest of my 16gb micro sd card is labeled as the emmc for the tablet which is not what i intended. Now I cant load it up with my movies and videos like I had hoped.
Does anyone know:
Is there any way I can change these partitions on my card? (I have already tried EasuUS partition manager)
Where did the 1gb partition that android is on come from and why did the emmc get so large?
Is there any way to take the android image currently on my sd card and just putting onto the nook after I have already had it run from the sd card and then just formatting my sd card for storage?
There are probably newbie questions but I have tried to do my own research and havent found any certainties. Any help would be really appreciated.

Ok, first you need to go to my tips thread linked in my signature and read in section B how the verygreen SD works. You will understand the partition structure a little better.
Now for your sdcard/emmc media storage problem, you have a setting wrong in CM7. Go to settings, CyanogenMod settings, Application and uncheck "Use internal storage". What that setting does is swap emmc and sdcard so that your real sdcard is called emmc and internal media storage is called sdcard. It is not default that way. Somehow it got checked.
