CyanogenMod-7.1 Released !!

It’s been far too long since our last official release, but I’m happy to present CyanogenMod-7.1! I apologize for the long delay, and I hope to speed up our release process in the future. We originally planned to release this last weekend at the Big Android BBQ but some issues with our automated build system held it back.
You’ll find many new features (read the CHANGELOG) and support for building on 68 devices! Upgrading from any previous CM-7 release or nightly build should be smooth and no wipe should be required.

There are many devices still in beta status (Pyramid, Doubleshot, Shooter, HP Touchpad, Optimus 3D, several more) that we will be promoting to release or release-candidates in the next few weeks when the code is merged to our main branch.
The preferred method of installation is via ROM Manager, but you can directly download the latest release from our mirror network. Head over to our forums to discuss the release or get help. Installation instructions and other information can be found on our wiki.
As we continue to grow and improve CM, we are starting to see support from the industry grow- something that was unheard of previously. Recently, Sony Ericsson assisted our developers by providing over 20 devices, technical assistance, and compatible hardware drivers. CM-7.1 now has support for all recent SEMC devices thanks to this effort. Various other vendors have reached out to us, but we understand that it is still somewhat of a difficult situation. We will soon be providing a porting guide and some information on how vendors can get involved with the project and how/why it will benefit them.
Thanks again for the support, and for making CyanogenMod the #1 community Android distribution. We’ll be following up with a few minor releases and soon it will be time to start work on CM9!

Yup....this is the official guide to install cyanogenmod for arc...i will install it today and see what happen....is this a 2.3.4 or 2.3.3 version....can it do a overclocking...?

I didn't unlock my bootloader since my purchase a few months ago, so I am behind times. I am kind of concerned about the whole warranty issue... If you guys give me good performance and feature feedback, I might just get on the CM7 bandwagon...

I just installed this ROM, camera is working.

There... i updated my theme to "XDA 2010" just to be able to thank you!
Anyway... will only go CM7 when I get bored of the stock but doomkerneled UI.

Tempting, very tempting.
The two things i'd really miss from the stock ROM are SE's home launcher (i know, i'm weird) and the panorama camera app. Anyone know how likely these are to work on top of CM?

SE Home Launcher is working on CM7, you can find modified versions on xda, I don't know about camera but I doubt it's working.

I installed this rom and did flash a clean 368 before. I am unable to add an APN for att and cannot use mobile data. It looks like I am not the only one. I have a LT15a, generic global was flashed though so it looks like a LT15i.

i really want to unlock bootloader for my ARC and install CM7 but i'm afraid about 3 things one is Bravia Engine which i will miss the crispy look on my pictures and videos and secondly i'm afraid that i won't find alternative for Track ID and thirdly facebook integration =__= which my calendar and address book will be missing...

u can always revert back to stock.

Try to flash older version or a 2.3.4 stock ROM with DoomKernel until the problem of APN is solved.

I've managed to flash CM7.1 with out having any issue... (seems there's battery drain... but not confirm yet)
The way I did from unlocking bootloader till flash CM7.1:
- Flash using flash tool to LT15i 4.0.A.2.368 Generic Global
- Unlock Bootloader
- Extract the boot.img from the CyanogenMod update.zip and copy it to the same folder as fastboot (the /tools folder within the Android SDK folder).
- Disconnect the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc from the computer and power it off.
- Download CM7.1
- Unzip it and copy all the zip file frm the 7z you've downloaded into your microSD
- Press & hold the Menu button while connecting the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc to the computer.
- On the computer, open terminal and run the following command:
fastboot -i 0xfce flash boot boot.img
fastboot -i 0xfce reboot
- Once the device boots into the ClockworkMod Recovery, use the side Volume Rocker to move around, & the Power button to select.
- Select the option to Wipe data/factory reset.
- Then select the option to Wipe cache partition.
- Select Install zip from sdcard.
- Select Choose zip from sdcard.
- Install the CM7.
- Install Google Apps.
- reboot.
NOTE: IF YOUR CONTACT IS IN SYNCML/SONY ERICSSON SYNC, PLEASE COPY YOUR CONTACT TO GOOGLE BY PERFORMING BELOW STEP:
- Go to Contact
- Setting > Backup Contact > choose memory
- Setting > Import Contact > choose gmail account
- Once you have successfully installed CM7.1, it will autosync the contact from gmail contact to your phone one you have setup the google account.

I hope these aren't the only fixes in this release... Btw someone check if this ROM has Huawei's cloud service enabled along with all other possible fixes (wifi, touchscreen feedback, dalvik cache...)

GB 2.3 Final release
Huawei just anounced that the ROM launched at 28.12.2011 is the Official One, they called it Enhanced Version...(of what???).
If this is the last effort by Huawei to do an Official ROM to U8800, it is a very very BAD effort!!! Shame on you Huawei, i expected better!
I HOPE that the final release it's still to come...(it's christmas!!!)

I don't understand one thing why huawei doesn't use phone's online update ?
Never did, since version b133 till b522 there was no online updates, while checking through phone. Why do they think this menu is for ?
I have a bug:
After trying to download updates from the market, the download progress can't be removed from the notification area. Even after reboot, it gave me several errors but progress is still there.
To summarize: Won't recommend to anyone and consider myself huawei devices.

BETA v3
Hi all! After update to 2.3 GB of BETA ver3 (because I do not believe that this is the final product) has no problem with the SD card, with the freeze and reboot. Still not working haptic feedback and 4 functional keys backlighting. Display still very sensitive. In settings - info about the phone - online update - Update the firmware: there are 2 updates for M886 !!!!!! I tried, after reboot start installation new FW and end with an error . After restart everything is OK, the phone works .... uffff! M886 is different hardware, but I had to try
After root no USB CD function, long time to access massstorage internal-external SD.
I updating from stock 2.2 B138 ROM with IMEI back with ToolBox 5Irom, after update to Beta v3 IMEI again zero !!!!!

They call the 12-28 released version a normal one. But the actual meaning should be a uniform version.
All the initial integrated apps are same in the oversea vertion and in the verion released in China，like Facebook，Twitter，even though these two service are not available in China.
And this version also support many language for the uniform using.

Cause on a cursory glance through the Q&A thread there are tons of the same Q's being asked (especially on rooting .167 firmware. I did it in 4 steps without creating a rooted zip). It doesn't have to be fancy m8 just a thing like "Rooting info here " (Isn't a link, just text colour). Anyways good idea m8:highfive: (wish I'd thought of it lol)

How to Fix Noise Canceling
So from what ive tested this method hasnt failed me once.
Requirements:
Flashtool
How to use flashtool
Instructions:
1. Download a FTF of your choice which matches the rom of your choice.
2. Wipe your Data/Cache Via Recovery
Next couple parts will guide you through rooting for locked bootloader
3. flash pre-rooted 167 rom via recovery
(if recovery is installed)(if not downgrade to 314 root and install recovery
6. power off your device and flash the rest of the FTF (Exclude Data because it will wipe your internal storage )
7. From Recovery Flash your ROM of Choice
8. Noise Canceling Should still work, it has from my testing
Noise Canceling Does break when you flash another rom so you will have to go through this process again
This Guide only Applies to stock

I think it just fix signal in Taiwan coz I see it has different baseband.

Battery life in 3.12 seems to be much better than before in 167

i seem to be getting less battery drain after a fresh flash
and screen on time is better @stanley08 mentioned the same thing i do believe

Just compare files' size in two rom, .167 and 3.12, seem it has no difference. Like I said, I guess it just an update to fix signal in Taiwan coz I see it has different baseband

But this baseband maybe can fix our batterydrain.

I have used the Tablet after updating for about 2 days and software seems stable. Battery life is better than Lollipop although there is no Stamina Mod. Xperia Z4 and Z5 themes are pre installed in this update and the previous versions are removed. Also there is an update for Camera App however the pictures look more grainy and less sharp. I recommend this update as overall its better than Lollipop.​

SP kitkat xperia firmware

Hi, there are still people who are interested in KK xperia firmware for SP? A few months ago, I started developing firmware with all the chips of stock xperia 4.4, baced on last cm11 for LB by bagyusz, now it is not worse than xperia ovelay, there are even stamina and color themes in it, at the same time, most cyanogenmod chips are saved. I want to know your opinion, is it worth whether to continue updating it or the xperia KK is no longer interesting to anyone?
