I wonder if anyone can suggest how to block incoming "unknown" calls. In other words how to allow calls only from my address book. (or at least allow calls that are not "hiden")
Thank you in advance
Hi,
just search for "call blocker" or "smartfilter" here in this forum...
HTH,

When I set up my phone I selected GV for SMS and VM. I got tired of getting two sms notifications when I received one SMS etc....
After I rooted N1 I tried to remove GV (unsuccessfully) and I selected "my Carrier" for the default on VM and SMS. Fixed sms but....now anyone who calls my TMO number gets sent to my GV voice-mail.
What can I do? Any help appreciated.
Doesn't answer your question, but just an FYI: You could go into the default message app and turn off notifications so that you only receive one when you get an SMS.
in order to disable google voice voicemail just dial this ##004# and hit the call button.
Go into your call settings and change the call forwarding numbers back to your carrier's vmail number.
Not sure why you'd want to not use Google Voice, since it's got vmail transcription, etc. Your multiple notifications issue is simple user error and that can be fixed by adjusting your settings.
Hell Yeah!!! Thanks a lot!! Momo
Every time I get a GV voicemail, I than get an email in my gmail. I love GV. hell I have had it since GC days 2007. Android is new to me. But I have laid down my crackberry habit of 6 years. My wife's G1 one got me started. Sure loving this community and my N1.
*******Unsari1 ,,I already changed my call settings back but that did not help.
no problem glad it worked.
Also, if you were getting 2 notifications for sms, it's because you had the notification turned on in both GV and in the small client and not because there's a flaw.
Posted in another thread, but thought this was relevant to this thread as well...
To any of you who are using Google Voice as your default voicemail app... do you notice the phone's settings revert back to carrier voicemail after a reboot?
If I go to dialer after a reboot and hit the voicemail button, it dials T-mobile vmail... and if I go to Settings>Call Settings, Google Voice isn't selected anymore. So basically, it has to be set again after each reboot...
I am currently working on an application that will auto reply to text messages when enabled. Reason behind this is in Canada it is illegal to use your handset while driving. I plan on expanding the pre-defined messages.
Cheers!
Have you checked out MagiCall at all? Doesn't have a very nice interface, but it's very powerful and versatile. You can use it to change outgoing dialed numbers (ie:for calling cards etc), auto reply to incoming SMS messages, as well as run commands and programs on incoming SMS messages.
I use it to auto-reply to anyone in my "Friends" categories if they call or text me during an appointment in my calendar.
hi,
on my old HTC Desire, the stock contacts application have an option to auto-reject all the calls from a contact. this option is not available in stock contacts application for the tab.
howto auto-reject all the calls for any (or more than one) contact.
thx
There is a call reject list you could use to list the #s you want to reject. It's under Call settings.

Click to collapse
not capable to find that you did.
more help is needed...
From a home screen:
Menu- Settings - Call Settings
There are 2 options for rejecting calls with messages, and each has more settings.
Now yes!
thank you very much
I was able to setup my sip account by using anycut and doing a widget shortcut to sip settings. I can set up my callcentric sip account and it registers fine for incoming calls .. but I cannot find the menu settings or a shortcut to it to select "ask for every call" so I can use sip for outgoing calls. So it appears the default sip stack is in the mdl tmobile rom just hidden.. any suggestions or dialer shortcuts to get to this menu thanks..
