Hey all!
I have a problem with the wi-fi. Wi-fi is triggered, but does not connect to the network. Return to "saved".
Mac adress is 00:00:00:00:00:00.
This problem has occurred in others.
I have installed a number of times a purely re-directed.
Offical android 2.2.2 ---> Offical android 2.3.5 --->
superoneclick root ---> copy recovery 5.5.0.4 (or 5.0.2.7) ---> wipe data / factory reset, wipe the cache, wipe calvik ---> install aurora ics and BANG! Everything is ok, except for WI-FI!
Can anyone help where is the problem?
I've been using for a long time MIUI rom. Is affected by this?
What experiences have others?

I've done exactly the same steps... And my Mac is ok
Which 2.3.5 release did you flashed? I flashed the U8800 V100R001C00B522G001(Normal)(Gingerbread)
The one one before the latest...
I have trying B522 ja B526
Both the same thing.
This is so weird ...
and with official 2.3.5 wi-fi works ok?
EDIT: Try to flash after the official 2.3.5 the ret4rt latest MIUI .35 rom and then the aurora. Always do the 3 wipes... Report if it doesn't work!
Good luck

Yes, official 2.3.5 wifi works fine.
I'm trying Ret4rt MIUI .35 rom, but wifi not work!
When you connect to the network, wifi signal drops to one pole and the connection is reset to "saved".
Where the file is located in wifi? If it could be modified?
my wi-fi dont work on ics -.-
mac = 0:0:0000
wi-fi work but dont connect -- .
on 2.3.5 official work perffectly ...
I have the same problem as you and happens with all .35 custom roms. With original ones .35 works fine. I think is because my imei is nulled.
You have nulled imei to?
Yes. I also have a null imei, but I do not think that is because.
I trying newest MIUI ROM, the same problem!
I'll try to figure out that what is due.
newest miui? With .35 also yes?
If you have null imei you won't get wifi in any CUSTOM .35 ROM.
So good luck trying. I tried everything...
Yes. With the latest MIUI rom the same problem.
When I installed the official 2.3.5, wlan works, but the IMEI is null.
Does anyone have information on that, how would a fully formatted phone?
When you feel that there will always be traces of other roms.
PROBLEM SOLVED!!
WiFi now works!
A.C.A.B, you were right! The fault was in the fact that the IMEI was zero.
I went to examine the problem, and I tried this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1325036
Its really works!
Install Official 2.3.5 and root it.
1. Download imeibackup.rar and ToolBox5iromV1.0.4.2.apk
2. Install toolBox5irom
3. Open Toolbox5irom
4. Close Toolbox5irom (program create "5irom" folder On the sdcard)
5. copy imeibackup contents on the /sdcard/5irom/imeibackup/ (also "imei_string_here.txt")
6. Open "imei_string_here.txt" and edit your own imei code. (Code can be found in the phone under the battery)
7. Open toolbox5irom and Restore imei.
The phone will restart a few times. (the installation will hang myself, but I took the battery out and put back.)
8. Now your IMEI is right! (I hope so)
9. Install aurora ICS 1.9
10. Test your wlan. Its works!
Sorry my bad english.

Have you tested the method to restore IMEI that tace87 mentioned above?
O can't try it because I got fed up with this IMEI nulled **** and took my phone to the shop to be repaired under guarantee.
In the shop the girl told me that is frequent happening this issue after firmware update, and not just in Huawei Smartphone’s, other brands to.
They said that the solution is normally restore the old firmware and the IMEI would be also restored. The problem is that in Huawei this simple procedure won't solve the issue.
MY suggestion to all with nulled IMEI:
- format your phone and install the 1 of the first 3 beta release of the official 2.3
- Take your phone to the shop to be repaired under guarantee or not.
- Mention the following issues:
A) nulled IMEI,
B) missing calls issue
C) Bluetooth issues (note that with nulled IMEI, everytime you turn off the Bluetooth device name/ID is reseted therefore needing to pair all over again with the devices that were paired before, such as computers, car hands free Bluetooth kits, etc etc).
D) if you are from Portugal, please note that you can’t also correctly install the app TMN Drive. Well, you download and install the app from the market but when you run it, the app tries to contact the servers to download the maps and you get an error. No IMEI no Device ID therefore not able to use the app.
Nulled IMEI caused by an official firmware update is enough reason to be repaired under guarantee or not, always without costs for the end user.
The rest is just “salad” but always help.
It’s you right to demand, so demand!!!

Problem is some people don't have good experience with service and some of us don't have warranty anymore. That's reason why we're trying to find alternatives like restoring imei using something else.
I'm going to try the tutorial posted above. But I tried many things so far and none worked =(. Good luck to me !

I don't see a file called 'imei_string_here.txt'!
I have a null IMEI.
In Aurora, I can connect to my mobile network but not a wifi network.
In official 2.2.1. and 2.3.5 I can connect to both (even with null IMEI)!
I think the issue is IMEI, but I'm not sure!?
Also, MAC address is zeroes...

Hi everyone, I made something funny that worked today
Scenario is the phone has no IMEI, no BASEBAND, cant enter the service code *#*#197328640#*#*, can’t call and gives force close, and in short the phone is useless. HAHAHA lol.
The history of the phone is HARD BRICKED after my big brother flashed a kernel onto this phone after upgrading to 4.0.4. he wiped user data and along with the EMMC file, it became unresponsive and doesn’t turn on anymore.
I had it recovered using MEDUSA box and after I got the BOOT/DOWNLOAD mode. I flashed a firmware with DXxx.xxx baseband. im so glad that the phone was completely working again, ALMOST hahaha. When I inserted my stupid SIM, it doesn’t want to pick up signal an found out that there is no BASEBAND version as I checked it on about phone, or dialing *#1234#
I have done some research and I knew that I is gonna be the RIFF box again that will fix this thing. What am I gonna do to a phone that doesn’t pick up signal at all. I flashed it over and over again even the MODEM alone but still no luck.
Things that I have done to have it work though with a wrong IMEI
1. Root the phone
2. Installed SGII repair
3. Backed up the efs folder (either using ROOTexplorer/the SGSII repair app)
4. Downloaded the EFS pro
5. Downloaded the .NET framework 4.0
I tried repairing the EFS using the GSII repair but still no good after reboot, and used the the EFS pro to repair it but still no good. After rebooting couple of times I don’t have signal.
Imma make this short now
1. Root your device using whatever method u can use
2. Install root explorer and copy EFS folder to your internal SD card then paste it somewhere on your computer. (name it as ORIGINAL EFS)
3. Now use the SGSII repair (download it in app market)
4. Use the repair method then back up the repaired EFS folder on save/restore option (REPAIRED by SGSII repair app)
5. Paste the .tar file to your PC/Laptop and extract it and name the EFS folder as repaired EFS folder
6. Use the EFS pro and click on format the EFS folder. (make sure before doing this, you have repaired the EFS and BACKED UP the repaired EFS using the SGSII app)
7. Connect your phone to your pc and mount the storage to your PC/Laptop
8. Copy the extracted file you have backed up on number 5 (using winrar)
9. Copy the content of the extracted repaired EFS by the SGSII repair app to the ROOT EFS folder of your phone.
10. Then click the Repair NV data / Attempt NV recovery
11. If that did not work just reboot the phone first and do the number 10
12. Reboot again the phone
13. Once rebooted the phone will then have the icon of w/out sim, has baseband, and once you inserted the sim it will then have coverage to your carrier
14. Do it with a little bit of luck
Enjoy your phone with wrong IMEI and the screenshots I have put on this thread are, after I have done everything but previously it doesn’t show the BASEBAND version and everything. but after i have done THESE steps, it suddenly displayed the baseband version and i had signal
I tried doing this but it has just gone with the no baseband version again
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264021
These steps worked for me and I have a working phone with wrong IMEI.
Worked for me :highfive:
Any helpfull steps / posts / links that would completely recover the ORIGINAL IMEI would be gladly appreciated

A phone with wrong IMEI will be blocked in 2 days in my country
I accidentaly flashed in a i9100G ROM on my i9100 (regular one, no NFC and nothing extra), not even an unlocked one, and i lost all my phone thingys.
But i am a bit nerdie, so i searched for my problem here, and discovered that flashing an 9100G modem is a really bad idea, so i decided to flash an LP7 MODEM/RIL back and evrything went to normal (at least in my case)

better backing up your EFS folder to your SD card cause it contains a very important file...
I tried to install the new version of CyanogenMod Snapshop but unfortunately afte the reboot of my LG G2 D802 the mobile phone bricked.
I read a lot around the Internet and finaly i succeeded to unbrick it. Th problem now is that i do not have IMEI (is null now). I read that there is one program that you can fix your disappeared IMEI but cannot work in my personal laptop. Do you know anything how to repair and fix my IMEI with my previous official IMEI (i have it in the box that i bought but i didnt have any backup of it).
Thank you
I am having the same problem. I was loading a milestone version of a rom and when it loaded after wiping there was no service whatsoever and everything is null. I understand it wiped the efs and I dont have a backup. I also understand that we can change the info back with the numbers off of the original box using dfa cdma tools. I have the program but my question is the 000000 code does not work when i try to unlock the phone. Anyone with any experience with this program that can help me to re write my meid???

Which program do you have?
Dfs CDMA tools
I don't have any personal experience with this, but I have done a ton of reading on this problem and it's become my biggest fear. From what I have gathered you have very very little chance of fixing this yourself. It most cases it goes back to the manufacturer. Can you tell us exactly how this happen?
I have no idea, i have been rooted for months and swapped roms like crazy. I wiped and installed a new rom and then it was getting no service so i tried to update profile and said it couldnt. Then check in the settings for the baseband and meid and unknown was shown across the board. Trying to figure it all out now!
I have had the same thing happen what cm did u install I had a d802 version on my ls980 restored it but now it will only accept a d802 modem and the signal is weak and drops out but it did show my ESN and imei and baseband again instead of unknown if I would have flashed it with a ls980 modem
Sent from my LG-D959 using xda app-developers app
Have you tried restoring a backup?
Sent from my dr87 v7 powered, Mahdified LG G2 (D801)
My problem started when I tried to update my LG G2 D8002 to the latest Cyanogenmod Kitkat Snapshop and i stuck in clockworkmod recovery loop after returning in CWM to take backup. I tried to connect it to my Laptop but i cannot have any access in my files via my laptop. The bad thing that i did is that i formated everything in my mobile (as you can see and my IMEI too) to make a clear installation of a new rom after the brick. When i entered my new ROM i realized that i have everything apart from my IMEI. So that i do not have any network-signal in my mobile but a connection to Wifi
The program Dfs CDMA tools and Octopus Box does not work in my desktop. (Any idea?)
Do you have any idea how to repair it? I read that there is a folder (nfs i suppose that encode inside the IMEI). So, if someone find this folder can upload it somewhere? Probably will find a solution to solve it.
i was solved problem with no imei :
make full buckup from TWRC in another LS980
restored that buckup in bricked phone (make first buckup on it, to know name of folder, and take to that folder buckup from work phone)
sorry for me English

Are you sure that this works in all devices of LG G2?
Dear xda-developers users:
I have recently flashed the cyanogenmod 11 rom in my U8800 pro, following the instruction on this thread. (Installed TWRP and so on)
Everything worked perfectly, but in the process I lost my IMEI.
Sadly I have not a backup of my IMEI (I trusted the upgrade to go smoothly), but I have my IMEI number written down on the phone behind the battery. Is there a way to "reflash" my IMEI?
I found guides explaining how to do this, but all of them required to access some sort of service menu that is not avaliable on Cyanogenmod. Can you please explain me how to restore my phone to the original ROM (I have really no clue on how to do that!). Also a procedure to recover my IMEI without restoring the original ROM is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi
Im also facing the same issue after flashing the CM11 from Blefish on my U8800 (not pro)
Unfortunately, for now the only fix available to us is to reinstall the stock rom, use the IMEI backup tool and then reflash the custom ROM.
I haven't done that yet as my phone is still working fine (IMSI and the serial no. is being used I guess)
If I find a fix will update, thnx anyways

Wi-Fi is using similar memory controller as SD card. I had an issue where my SD got corrupted and Wi-Fi did not turn on because of it aswell. So try removing/replugging the SD card (and restart afterwards).
Ty for your answer blefish, i try what u do and try with another SD card, and i put my SD to another device. and i can´t turn on wifi, but my friend phone´s works well.
UPDATE: i made a downgrade to 2.2.2 froyo and WiFi Works Well.. any hint to upgrade my phone? whitout lose WiFi?¡
]when you're on ICS do you have an IMEI number? If not your phone is screwed on any ROM higher than GingerBread. Mine is the same. It just cycles through the connecting cycle on and off. I've even tried forcing an IMEI number through a program but it didn't change anything.
EDIT: nevermind finally after hours and hours of trying to revive this phone I got my IMEI back and wifi working. Damn it took ages to figure out.
Flashed to Official Gingerbread, then done the steps of retoring my IMEI number which is listed behind my battery. I used DFS tools for this and a post that tells you how to access the project setting menu to enable the settings. Then I wrote my IMEI number back on my phone, then rooted it and installed a custom recovery. Then from there installed Aurora ICS and used another post here to write my Mac address found behind my battery using Terminal Emulator. And bam! my wifi isnt stuck in a loop trying to connect anymore.
I got an IMEI number but the wifi dosent work, do I need to simply use TWRP to get official? then go back?
I flashed a rom ( Crdroid) and the mobile data was off, sometimes it doesn't detects the SIM till re-inserting it one or more times, then when it's detected, I put it on but when I check, it's turned off, and about the Apn.. it says "Apn settings are not available for this user" thought I can Still add it with the (+), but when I add it, again I check and it disappears, nothing works
i tried to flash another rom(Corvus Os) and it's still the same, I can't neither receive calls or messages, neither call or send messages
Help

(SIM 1)
I tried another sims but still nothing, and these aren't broken or something, tho I'm seeing that Miui 12 has already the problem about non detecting SIM, Soo.. I'll try Fastboot ROM Miui 11 Android 9
Okay, i solved it, tho im a newbie, there was some videos about how to fix it, the first step is flash the stock rom / not the miui 12 one for me, it has problems with detecting chips in some telecom companies like Claro or Telcel, wich mine was Telcel, so i flashed the fastboot rom ( miui 11 android 9) , and at this point, it wasnt detecting the chip still, but somehow i could recieve calls and everything, but now being in miui 11, the 2nd step is restore de cqn file, im not gonna post it but ill give the video where i got it, but with the programs and all that, you can restore de qcn file via diag, thats all, there some videos about how to pass to miui 12 without these problems but idk, heres the videos
stock rom via fastboot
restore cqn file( no sim detected)
that was all, see ya
.
