Unless we had a 4G hardware radio, 4G will never work.
3G is fast though. Especially on the fascinate.
Flashing other, 4G, radios will break everything for service. Sorry if I sound confusing

Sounds like the perfect signature for you.

oh
no it makes sense i just didnt know if the devs on here had the abliity to make a radio. i mean it sounds realistic. lol. and yes its fast. i have min on ics and using nstools to oc at 1.5ghz but when i increase the bus speed using liveoc it goes crazy and restarts so i leave that alone

the hardware doesnt support it regardless, if you want lte buy a lte phone

A more important fact is that the first 2.3 phone is Nexus S, which is almost identical to Galaxy S in hardware.
Most importantly, it has hummingbird 1ghz cpu.

Don't be so quick to discount what the community is able to do. However, the kernel source may be needed to get it working properly on our hardware. I'd just say don't hold your breathe for it, it can be a lot of work to port code, just look at cm6.

now that the boot loader is unlocked...

Will there eventually be any roms that get rid of the webtop stuff all together? I have played around with it a bit and ultimately found it to be worthless and haven't used it since.
I want vanilla android! It sucks that is so much to ask for in this market. (I had Nexus S but cannot live with t-mo.
I'm sure there are devs working on porting ROMs such as CM7 or AOSP. Patience is key right now. I know some CM devs are receiving some Atrixes.
Give it a few weeks. ROMs don't appear over night.

Me too. I could care less about CyanogenMod. I want PURE ANDROID!!
I just want my Tegra 2 dual core phone to HANDLE LIVE WALLPAPERS.
I also want the WIFI to work (stopped detecting WiFi altogether)
Will be posible to port any variant of Honeycomb? Honey can handle the DualCore module, is AOSP and has HighRes. I think it will be better than any 2.x.x. Motorola Xoom has a very similar hardware so I don't think that it's imposble, but all you are the genius here

Multicore works perfectly fine in the current version of Android on the Atrix, as well as Gingerbread. Honeycomb will not be backported. Look forward to Ice Cream Sandwich instead, which is the "new hotness" I guess you could say.
If you want better multicore support, look to the app developers to add it into their apps. Android can run multicore but without support in the app, as I understand it, it won't use both cores. I am sure someone else with more knowledge about the underlying structure of Android could shed better light on the subject.
Honestly, where does this misinformation stem from?

Well, here's a first.

I got my nexus s 4g with the same intention I've had with all my androids..root,flash custom rom, custom kernel, n have perfection on my phone. Well how surprised do u think i was when i got the phone n fell in love with the stock rom. Holy crap is the stock rom basically flawless...lol
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA Premium App
Same here bro, same here!
Same, I don't see too much to complain about on stock. It's light, responsive and fairly stable. I'll root it eventually of course though. I'm sure there are too many under-the-hood options that I'll be dying without before long
My only complaint seems to be random data drop outs. Is that a known issue or wtf is going on lol

Is it bad if I am using CM7 beta as my daily driver? I have an obsession.

I think I have a CM addiction. It was on my hero, the my evo, and now that I can actually have some flavor of CM I have to use it. It surely is stable to be honest, much more stable than eg22 leak base roms. Who needs a camera and gps anyway! Not this guy! Do not judge me!
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Yes, it is bad. Next question?
But seriously, If you can live without a camera, LEDs, GPS, WiMax, and Video Playback (according to their own thread), go for it.
I actually use all those things.
Lol it's never bad if you're used to legitimately using betas and going without features.

The main things I'm waiting for are GPS and WiMAX. I'll be waiting a while for the later.
I do a decent amount of traveling for my job, and rarely to the same place twice, so GPS is pretty handy.
WiMAX sure beats 3G for tethering. Airport wifi is quite annoying. Plus my favourite coffee shop has a funky router that the following devices of mine have NOT worked on:
Toshiba Satellite w/ Windows 7
Apple Macbook Pro with 10.6.8
Google CR-48
Epic 4G
T-Mob G1
I've complained to no avail. I can go without 4G for a while, but I don't think CM will be a full replacement for me until it has WiMAX support.
All of that said I'm thankful for the development we have had. When I install Cyanogen on my Epic I'm reminded of how fantastic CM6 was on my G1. The things that work work perfectly, the phone zips around, the battery holds up, the Epic port has had some very solid development and we should all remember to be thankful for what we have rather than hold unreal expectations.
Ditto. Its hard to leave 4G because I have had it since launch day of this phone. Its what 5x faster? Overclocking Cyanogen with Tegrak makes it fast as can be but when downloading anything or connecting to XDA app,etc you can really feel the difference in data speed

Supposedly the codez(?) 3.0.62 and 3.0.64 don't have the overheating issue. Personally, I'm using 3.0.74 evervolv, but I rarely use headphones.

Some phones get above 75°C. The temperature difference means little. What's important is whether or not it's within operating specs.

I was using TDJ's darkside v7, however I was randomly missing txt's from people, not sure if that's a kernel issue or rom issue.
