I got a droid x with clockwork mod recovery and i could not activate it so i deleted the system file on the phone. It is now back to android recovery but will not go past the Motorola symbol when i try to turn it on. I tryed a factory reset and it didnt work. What do i have to do to make the phone go past the Motorola symbol?
Sounds like it's time for an SBF to me.

today i messsed my phone up, and now it well turn on and you see the m and then it goes off and it will also enter recovery sceen. i reflashed the spf and it still does not work. it will go to the motorola symbol and then flashes and then restarts it will not going to the little att animation or anything. please help
If you are getting to the recovery screen have you tried a reset from there? Is it stock recovery?
Seems like you messed up running my scripts. Power off your phone, remove your SD card, power back on, you should be okay.
yes it is the stock recovery and i removed my sd card and it is still doing it, i performed at least 10 data wipes and its still doing it
Recovery isn't what you want, it won't do anything useful for this. Get to the bootloader (hold the up arrow while turning on the phone) then use RSD Lite or sbf_flash to flash with the stock SBF.
Relax, everything will be okay.
i did that, i just ended up calling and there sending me a replacement
ok i got a droid 2 and it only goes to the motorola symbol screen and then shuts back off and starts up again and it will sometimes say the bootloader isnt working
Did you get this phone from Verizon or did you buy it from a third party? If you got it from Verizon, take the phone back and get a new one. If you didn't, then try flashing an SBF.
Here are the instructions on how to do that:

I believe the download there isn't working, so you can download the sbf from here:
hxxp://www.droid-life.com/2010/11/01/droid-2-sbf-released-for-2-3-20-update/ (replace xx with tt)
BE SURE after you flash the SBF to hold X on the keyboard and your power button to boot into recovery and wipe your data and cache or you will be stuck in a bootloop, and after your phone boots up you will need to reactivate it, but it should do that for you when you sign into google.
Hopefully this will solve your problem. If not, check back and maybe someone else can be of further help.
So i have been having issues with my Droid X since i rooted it. It has a locked bootloader so idk if that effects it. In the last few weeks ive have to go into my bootstrap and factory reset my phone about a week ago, yesterday and now again tonight. The thing is i cant even get my Droid X to boot past the red M. Im stumped on what to do and i need help.
Wrong place to post
Ask a mod to move this to Droid x general/q n a, I'm sure you'll get some help there

Well, your applications and data are done-for, unfortunately.
Pull the battery...and from a dead state:
Hold HOME+POWER.
Continue to hold home until a green android pops up.
I always forget what comes next on gingerbread...
but I think it's both volume keys at the same time.
Navigate and select to do a factory reset.
Try booting.
If it still won't boot...
You'll have to SBF

Use the 602 sbf.
If you ever want to flash a custom rom, I've made a quick guide that'll make the process easier on a new user.

Google how to SBF. The process will return your device back to stock.

well my dad was having problems with his defy, running a stock us 2.2.1. I looked at his phone, and after a few minutes, it would freeze up, and go into a bootloop, or still screen of the motorola logo.
First thing i tried is the stock recovery, which would freeze as soon as i started to wipe cache, and or data reset. After that, it gets stuck on the motorola logo no matter what.
I thought flashing a different .sbf would work, tried it, and finally got it to load to the "Welcome to android - please touch to continue" screen, as soon as i touched it, it froze.
flashed - JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_179-002_DEBLUR_SIGN_SIGNED_UCAJRDNEMARAB1B80AA03A.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNFRYORTCEE_P016_A016_HWp3_Service1FF
went into recovery again to try to hard reset, but once again it freezes when it starts to clear cache/data factory reset.
Reflashed, now its still stuck on the motorola logo.
Any help is appreciated, thanks
DH
