Hey guys, I'm on the hunt for a sense rom for the T-mobile version of the HD2. I am looking for a smooth rom, that is stable and has a bunch of themes. I have been searching for about an hour now, and this is the *closest* I could find: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1256581
Unfortunately, I can't find the Tmobile US download link to the file. They only have older versions of it. Can anyone suggest a better rom, or provide me with a download link with the most recent version of the rom I linked to? Thanks.

Wait, what is that even supposed to mean?
It means nobody can truly tell you what from is the best..... devs work hard to make cool stuff for everyone to enjoy. To pick one devs rom and saying "its the best" would be a slap in the face to every other dev..... so its discouraged. All I can say is play till ya stay with a rom that suites ur needs......

I do believe I mispoke. I wasn't asking which one was the best, in that sense (pun intended) I was asking which one best fits the description of my needs. I will edit the OP so that it is less "directed" at offending anyone.
EDIT: I didn't ever call anyone's rom the best, I definitely meant that it was the closest rom I could find that fits my needs.

was not pointing you out , just means I should not tell you what I think is the best so I gave you a site with all the hd2 Rom's listed, you just type sense in search on that page and dig-in
Dungphp's Desire Z and Vivo ROMs are pretty good Sense ROMs. They have little to no graphics glitches, and are generally pretty smooth in usage. The links for the T-mobile versions are down though, but I had posted them up to Mediafire for a few people who wanted them- I can send you the links if interested.

Send away, man. Are they very graphical and aesthetically pleasing? I like roms that have a lot of animation. Also, could you link me to any tweaks and extras that come with the ROMs? I would appreciate that greatly.

Here's the ROM links. I had to split it into two files since Mediafire only allows 200 MB files [but it's fast DL speeds should make up for that].
Thanks a bunch dude. Question though, do I just unzip both parts, combine them in one folder, and then re-zip? Don't want to brick my phone.....

Use HJsplit to get the joined together .zip. Then put that on your SD and flash as usual.

Hi
I'm looking for the best Android ROM for HTC HD2?
A plain and simple ROM, much like HTC Desire.
me2 ............
Open up your phone. There should be a scavenger hunt map on how to find one. N when u find it. Make sure u throw your phone against the wall cuz it'll make it run faster.
the best rom is the one that will serve your needs better.
but you'll only know which is the one after your try some.
lucky you, there are lots of android ports here, ready to be downloaded for free.
by the way, very smart question. you're the first one to post it here, nobody never thought of it, so the search button would be useless for you anyway.
yeah me too,
and while I'm here, which is the best Winmo ROM, oh and should I sell my HD2 to buy a lawnmower? if so which lawnmower should I buy....
finally, and I'm sorry if this is in the WRONG SECTION, but which flavour ice cream should I have for dessert? sorry if you think my questions are a WASTE OF TIME.

Well this can be easily answered roms with the latest michelparamy kernel or darkstone kernel from froyostone v2. That ones use graphics patch by darkstone wich make the rom much faster.
Hands down
Get MATT C Froyo version of Android. is the most complete, stable and updated.

Hey all. I'm new to the HD2 but not to android. I'm sure you've all seen the MIUI rom for desire and nexus. (if you haven't go here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Or-9T44Bt7M&feature=player_embedded
To clarify :"It appears that the ROM has been mostly custom built using only the base from Android 2.2 and then building an exceptional interface on top that could beat anything else that currently exists.
From full FM radio support to completely customizable home screens, dedicated buttons on the lock screen that take you to the SMS app and the phone dialer."
Since its fore the desire/nexus, It should be an easy port to the HD2, I just need halp
I'm sure most of us would love to see this implemented on the HD2. I thought I could do it myself, but I've tried and failed. Below are two links. One for the full rom and the other is a link to the system.ext2 image I made from the /system folder of the ROM. I've tried a couple of different kernel combinations and still can't get it to boot (replaced the system.ext2 in shubcraft with the one I made and it just reboots). I don't yet know enough about android on the hd2 to get this working myself. So I figured I'd start a thread and see where we can get.

UPDATE: 9-24-2010 : We do have a working test build that is being given out to a few folks. No ETA on a alpha or beta release. Hopefully this weekend. I'm tonight and tomorrow so I'll squeeze in some android time when I can. SARCASTILLO (guy who made hyperdroid) gets the credit for getting this thing booting. Nice to hear that ! We always lack people like you, however the few Hd2 build developers have magic hands.
Maybe you already know that, but I suggest you to contact them directly for this great project because Hd2 is a very popular phone, so this forum is 99.9% populated by end-users. At the begining kernel developers tried to work into xda forums, but deserted for the Htc-linux Irc because of noise.
This would be so awesome!!!! DEVS, plz plz plz look at this !!
personally i'd love to see this ported! would be something... different!
I'm looking forward to it too. Looks interesting.

Again bro, the development section
2low2rl only download stuff from XDA under Dev idk why you would trust it anywhere else. BTW which version of IG are you using? As IGv1.1.6 came out yesterday and is good so you might want to flash it or you can use other alternatives like Evil 4G HD, GorillaSens DHD, Evil 4G MIUI, CM7A.

I would recommend only using ROMs from trusted sources. Cyanogen(mod), XDA, TheUnlockr are the ONLY sites that i trust. When you get into rooted phone, and personal information. It's just to easy for someone to input a leaching protocol, or not have all the files in line and what not.
If you are looking for GOOD ROMs use the XDA's Development section. There are plenty of good stuff in there.
I would venture away from CM7 if you are a new comer to the android world. I don't want to sound like and belittling you but there are some extra steps one must go though to get to work correctly, and honestly gingerbread isn't that different from FroYo.
CM7 isn't hard to flash. Yes there are extra steps, but the info is readily available.
As far as ive seen, all roms lead to the great Xda forums

I USED 1.1.6 AND I LOVED IT. IT WORKED GREAT UNTIL AROUND MIDNIGHT AND IT STARTED CRASHING SOON AS I STARTED UP SO I WENT BACK TO FACTORY+ ROOT AND THEN MUIU BUT WITH MUIU NEITHER CAMERAS WORK AND THERES NO VIDEO PLAY BACK. HAVENT TRIED GORILLA YET BUT I'M PRETTY HAPPY WITH JUST OVERCLOCKING THE FACTORY SENSE. MY WHOLE REASON FOR ROOTING WAS I JSUT WANTED IT TO RUN SMOOTHER AND HACE SENSE QUIT CRASHING.

What is the best htc hd2 android rom out there with sense working and is stylish smooth and quick
There is no 'best' one. Try them all and see which suits you best

I advise you NOT to get the 4.X Roms because they still are not optimized enough and donĀ“t have "functions" that are worth getting for!
Try to look for cyanogen7 mods on 2.3.X roms
THe best so far I found was dorimanx rom but it is unstable atm (installing apps result in crash)

Hi simadams the link in your "shortlist this one" post is dud can repost to tell me which rom and version it is
HyperDroid is the best. I've tried all Sense ROMs, they're all not fast enough for me.
Sense is BS most of the time.
this is the one I use
[20.Feb.2012] NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.3-CM9 V1.4 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860)... its great... but there are some small glitches... like I can'e edit the contacts from the default People app, I can send MMS (could be my configuration problem), cant change the default app once I check the box in the pop up, battery performance is poor (lasts only 12-15hrs)...
But its really smooth and fully functional...
Why can't one search the forum before asking this Question !!!!!!!!!!!
I am sure there are more than 10 threads with the same question..
whats the best ROM is a lot like asking whats the best flavor ice cream. (butter pecan personally) lol. The point is whats the best in our, the communities eyes don't always match up with one another. This is because what i want on my ROMs you may not and vise versa. The more details you give the better someone may point out a ROM they like that they might feel you will enjoy too.
If you want something a little older thats really fast and reliable one might point out RAFDROID HD. If you want something a little newer maybe running Gingerbread i would suggest CoreDroid GB. If you want sense 3.0/3.5 i feel Team Blue Droid V3.6 runs pretty smooth and they have a themed version under development. I would check out youtube and type in HD2 roms. Watch a few and try and get an idea of what your looking for. There is a great site found here that list many of the Android ROMs for the HD2. It tells you some basic info about each one like if it has sense, what build and when it was updated. Take awhile looking over each one and read some of the comments in that thread to try and get an idea of what you'll be getting. Hopefully then you'll be able to make a great choice on the perfect ROM for you.
