I think this takes too much battery... android has something called battery stats and battery history(open with the gestures app by google or spare parts or custom shortcut in adw or launcher pro...

I dont think androids battery stats are accurate.. and battery history in spare parts are not working in 2.3.3 stock lg rom and many custom roms(except cm)... For me this app is working fine.. It consumes less than 0.1% of my battery.. Till now there is no prob ...

Hi guys,
I've released my first Android application on the market. It's a free battery monitor that notifies you when your phone is fully charged and gives you misc information. This is my way of saying thanks to all of the developers and ROM cookers here in this great website.
Hope you like it and please share suggestions to improve it
Change log:
- Customizable notifications
- Auto start at boot time
- Fixed full detection
- Fixed notification

Looks impressive, I was actually looking for something to display the percentage use rather than a green bar. Could this replace the conventional monitor on the right or must it remain an extra notification? The health I think is great too, well done!
Thanks for your input. Hum... I don't have a clue on how could I replace the conventional monitor on the right. If anyone has a clue on how to achieve this, or where can I look for this, please let me know.
Doesn't look possible sadly ... maybe a home screen widget would rock!
Nice application, competes with "Battery Indicator", they both essentially do the same thing but I think this looks more colourful for free.
My only issue is that the % doesn't display other than when it is charged. Fix that and make it skinable and I'm in! Maybe have it appear on the lock screen in a similair manner to the iPhone too .

Hum... on my device the % changes in realtime, whenever the battery decreases (discharging) or increases (charging). About skins... never thought about that. I was looking into getting battery history and estimate how much battery we have left in terms of time.
Updated to v4
What's new:
- Voice notification when full.
- Misc fixes.
Updated to v5
- Fixed force closes that happened when people don't have TTS on their devices.
- Battery and TTS objects are now independent of the interface, reduced the amount of code and optimized the framework.
- Only updates when the battery changes instead of timed checks of battery level, meaning much more battery efficient.
Updated to 5.7
Changes:
- Preview voice alert
- Configuration of Text-To-Speech settings from application
- Icons according to GUI guidelines
- Fixed the detection of full charge
- Uptime since boot of the phone (might change in the future for since charged)
Looks fantastic, nice work

I for one would prefer this ( or at least have it as an option ). This would be helpful since I switch the phone off at night.
Thanks.
seems nice! i'm going to try it. just two things i'd love to see:
a nice battery widget similar to "battery info" (with all extra data and maybe a quick enable/disable overclocked feature) and the ability to disable the status bar notification, at least when not charging, since i don't need it as it replicates the stuff i see in my battery widget.
if you add these two whings i'm going to donate for sure
I love it, one of the first apps i downloaded when i got the Desire.. Donating for sure.
Thanks guys, keep suggestions coming. I've changed the uptime to reflect every time we charge, by reseting the uptime variable to 0 when we plug it in.
I would like to see a battery widget geared for us using the after market high capacity batteries (Battery Left never seems to get it right). I would like the option to give the high and low mV values, and have the app base the percentage of the battery left using those 2 values.
Why we don't have the icon like on the screenshoot in the first post ?

i have not installed/tried this yet, but i wanted to know, is there a setting, whereby a setting to set the fully charge percentage?
Li-lon battery should not 100% charged, right?
does this shut down after its done charging? Or does it use battery resources?
Anyone know about a better battery indicator that shows percentage instead of colours?

Battery Indicator Pro. Worth the money for me.
I donloaded the lite version and it seems to work ok.
Only it comes up in addition to the original one only in the other corner.
Does the pro take over the original?
Bat Stat simple widget on home screen that does fantastic job.
I loved the Bat stat widget. !
Does anyone's widget display the right percentage?
When my tab is fully charged widgets show 86%... I've used a few too.
Usually the little battery icon in the status bar is indicating a higher battery level than what the widgets are reporting to me... Anyone else getting the same?
Do #*0228# . It will show actual data from system. Mine shows exactly the same.

Try "Free Power Widget" by BK Mobility, which you can find in Android Market. It's cool and shows the battery percentage in a nice widget.
I use the switch pro widget which has all the switches you need plus a % battery indicator, all in dark grey and really unobtrusive.
Try typoclock, clockr and battstatt. Awesome on the tab!
Hi guys,
is there any way to get the nice battery mod from samsung galaxys into the samsung galaxy tab ?
xxx.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=765419
Youll have to wait for devs to start tinkering before you can change/mod the current battery icon. 3rd party apps will have to do for now.
So again...what about chaning the battery icon???

im sorry if this is in the wrong section pls move it.
would it be possible to make the battery icon in the notification bar show 1% increments?
i know there are a few apps out there that can do this(im using battery monitor widget) but i would like to just have it on the notification bar without having to use an app.
If u do a search you'll find out that out that it s not possible.
Limited by hardware
I think there is an app/widget out there that estimates the battery percentage from the voltage (i.e. 3400 mV = xx%), someone would have to hack it at the android OS level to get that same estimation in the battery indicator

what isnt possible? 1% increments or to place it in the status bar?
i've found three apps that can do this but they do not replace the stock battery icon(this is what i want to intergrate it with the stock battery icon)
ive found 3 apps will show 1% but i dont want to have to install a seperate app.
circle battery widget will do this too.

those apps only estimates
this is what a little search will get u

then is there a way to make the stock battery icon show numbers even in 10% increments?
I know there's Battery Monitor, but that app is 15MB and I want to replace all my apps on my phone for lightweight ones. No need to have an app hogging 15mb RAM for a widget that shows
Code:
(Vcurrent-Vmin)/(Vmax-Vmin)
in my status bar.
(I need a voltage based based battery percentage because of my extended battery pack.)
Does nobody have any idea?
Since the Nougat update, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to view the battery stats/usage.
Now you have to go to Settings, then Device Maintenance (which wants to load performance information each time), then choose the Battery option, then choose Battery Usage. 4 clicks to get to Battery Usage. There has to be a quicker way I'm missing?
Install quick shortcut maker, search for battery then select either device maintenance/battery or settings/battery usage.

Thanks. I guess that's one way, but they really should have had a battery option on the shortcuts that you can edit on quick access. Not sure why they wouldn't.
They only have widget for device maintenance. That's it.

Custom quick settings app has some sweet features. It shows the battery percentage right in QS if you're not a fan of battery % on the status bar (like me, lol). You can also make it so when you click it, it will open the battery settings.
This works on the S6 with Nougat at least: Long click the Power saving mode icon in the quick settings.
Not very intuitive, if you (short) click the icon or the text below you get two other results. And it's not consistent between all other quick settings.
I was searching for Quick Access to Battery Stats Nougat.
In Apex and Nova Launcher there is: touch your home screen for a second.
Add to Home screen > Shortcuts (Apex) or Widgets (Nova Launcher) > Activities > Settings > Battery usage (almost @ the bottom of the list #289)
In Touchwiz I found also a solution by adding a widget called Activity. But I think it's an Apex widget.
