Change default reader? - Nook Touch General

How do I change the default reader? The settings button is unlike other android devices and there is no option to "manage applications" and change default.

Go to Nook Color Tools > All Settings > Manage Apps

Thanks! That totally was not intuitive because I assumed that nook color tools applied to the nook color. So instead I explored all the normal nook tools and all the other apps on the device.

Q: How to reenable LP and ADW?

I installed ADW and LP to check them out, but disabled them temporarily (I thought) till the weekend when I'd have more time.
Now I am unable to get either LP or ADW to take over as the default launcher. Any ideas?

Go to settings, applications, manage applications. Then press menu and set filter to show all. Find twlauncher, open it, hit clear defaults button. And bam!

Isn't there a home switcher from the market that puts the shortcuts in your applications or home screen

Yeah, just search for "Home Switcher". Its a little app that scans all of the available UIs you have installed, you can switch effortlessly between them, and change which one is the default.

Hide apps

I have completely forgotten where to find the setting to hide various apps on the app menu. Can someone refresh my memory, cheers
On 1.2.1

defaults

can anyone tell me how to set or remove app/program defaults please?
unsure what you mean be app defaults. If you mean to change preferences and settings that affect specific app functions, then i'd first try the menu button while the app is open and in focus. It's the capacitive button to the left of the physical home button below the screen.

settings -> applications -> Manage Applications -> (select app) -> clear defaults.
will remove that program from being automatically selected for a particular action.
i.e. homebutton's homescreen, or the program used for internet links, etc.

How do I create a settings icon on the desktop?

I want to create a settings shortcut that goes to the settings menu, but whenever I try to, it navigates to the actual settings and forces me to choose a sub-setting.

Go into the app drawer, long press on settings and drag it to the homescreen? Or long press on the homescreen, add an app and add the settings app? You're going to add>shortcut>settings shortcut which requires a specific setting. You need the actual settings program.
It depends on your home launcher. I know with adw pro all I do is tap and hold on empty space on home screen. Then select create custom activity and choose from there. But what you wanna look for in your home screen is to add an activity. Activities are sub classes of programs. So you would pick the settings app then select the activity of said app which you want.

Yes, to add the settings app to the homescreen you drag it out from the app drawer.

I think, from reading the OP, they are trying to access a sub setting directly from the home screen.

Nah it's the opposite, he's being forced to access a sub-setting when he just wants to launch general settings

His problem is he is being forced to select a sub-setting, which he does not want. He just wants a link to the settings app - from there he can access all the sub-settings.
Either way though, all options are now listed for him.

Nougat and Storage - Settings missing

I was having some weird issues and thought that clearing the app caches might help big there is no longer a storage option or that an option to see storage usage under apps
Go to Advanced. Lots of things have moved into there.
Setting > Advanced Settings > Storage
And in advanced settings you'll find the rest of settings that should be in the main Settings Page.

Doh. Thanks. BTW, clearing app cache didn't seem to help. I'll check with the app developer.
