I recently rooted my Kindle Fire, installed the most recent version of CM7, and installed Googles Apps Framework and most of the other google apps that have been bundled together in the related threads. Now whenever I turn on my device, Google Apps Framework force closes whenever it tries to sync to the current time. I've checked permissions, and as far as I can tell, everything's as it should be. Am I missing something?

If you installed CM7 and the GApps package you would not need to load the framework separately.

I'd boot into recovery and reflash the GApps package.

I just installed CM7 nightly 164 using verygreens size agnostic walkthrough. I previously tried the very latest nightly and had this same issue: Everything installs fine, gapps setup runs fine, market is installed fine. Problem: some apps, such as Youtube and Facebook do not have an Install button to press in Market. I tried both picking them during google setup (fails) and not installing anything during google setup and then trying to install from market afterwards. I am able to install other apps, but these do not have the install button: youtube, facebook, google maps.. any ideas? I tried clearing the market cache and it didnt help, I can see the app page, but no install button.
Look around. Many many threads with lots of solutions.

Some other user could give you the requested apk for you to download and install it without needing Market.

When I rooted my Nook Color a few months back, a few market downloads came then seemingly automatically, then since then no market, I can download nightlies but no apps. I've tried most of the responses in here to no avail.
So I've wondered if I could create a zip file containing several apps and try to install them. My purpose would be to load apps on the Nook Color that would allow me to load files on the SD card and install from there.
I would prefer to get the market working, but I'm missing something. I've done manual nooter, download most of the programs that claim to be the missing link, tried several varieties of gapps, and some other suggestions as well.
Same problem. No install button for a bunch of apps in Market even after trying the suggestions listed here.

Uninstalling the updated market let me find and download those by searching in the old market. I also used Titanium Backup to uninstall the market update app first.
PS: Some have reported issues with the updated YouTube app so be forwarned.

I uninstalled my current Market app and installed 2.3.6. Now my links are there but the Market always force closes when I try to install.
That is because the app is updating itself again.

There is a workaround:
1) Set your DPI to 160.
2) Make sure the market app is killed, and then clear data for "market" in application management.
3) ???
4) Receive bacon!
You will have to kill Market/wipe market data every so often.

I'm trying this myself (see youtube thread), and it doesn't seem to be working. Some apps will show, others don't show the download / update buttons. Market version 3.0.27 CM7 n168. Unfortunately I don't have any older versions of the market to play around with.
EDIT: Okay, I spaced this one out, forgot to reboot after editing build.prop. The full market seems to be working now, I can update youtube, etc.
Anyone have any idea as to why, I cant install any APK's in OmniRom ? - I dont have GApps installed, if that any help. (GApps keeps failing to install).

Well, I have the DEB nightly of 2-19-14 of OmniRom
I have unknown sources checked
But when I try to install the Google Voice apk, I get the message : Cant open file.
Also, would you like the error message for GApps as well. or do you just want the apk troubles ?

I don't see any DEB nightly on Omnilog. Only FLO version is available.
Are you running an unofficial version?
Its an official build right from the OmniRom website.

1) How did you get the apk on your phone?
2) What file manager are u using to install the apk?
I downloaded it directly to the tablet. & I went into the Downloads folder & just taped on it to install. Then I also copied it over to the tablet under OSX. after deleting it off the tablet the first time.

Again, which file manager are you using to navigate to your download folder and install the apk?
There is no file Manager on the system. Nor do I have GApps installed. And when I try to install any thing, it wont install. & since I dont have the Play store, I cant go through that to download/install any thing either… What a mess
- Btw. Thanks for taking an interest & trying to help me with this.
Your issue maybe that you don't have gapps installed and it's missing the installer files to install the apk

Does 'adb install' from a PC work?
Many of the gapps APKs are required to be in /system so they can't be installed via 'adb install' or any other method. Maybe the APK you're trying to install has a dependency on gapps.
Google apps, as well as apps that rely on the APIs they expose (mapping is common) are a tightly intertwined mess. You'll get seemingly silent install errors because you're missing libraries, for example. Trying to restore apps through Titanium Backup will similarly fail if they are missing required libraries.
They generally will show up though logcat if you look carefully. Resolving the issue requires the sufficiently complete and self-consistent (sub-) set of Gapps.

Yeah. What a lot of people don't realize is how many apps that are out there which aren't part of gapps, but require the presence of the core gapps components.

My 6p was stock rooted using the "old" method with modified boot image (i.e. not systemless). I manually flashed the 6.0.1 update and apply superSU 2.62 (i.e. systemless root). The youtube app worked after the first boot, but when I rebooted the 6p the youtube app no longer works -- I kept getting "Please check your network connection". I uninstalled the app, clear app data/cache but to no avail. I even reflashed 6.0.1; again, the youtube app worked in the first boot, but no afterwards.
I've been on wifi all the time, and I could watch youtube from my browser by going to m.youtube.com (and use adobe flash).
Everything else works after the 6.0.1 update. I really don't want to have to do a factory reset. Please help!

Or, is it because two different root processes were used? Thought I read in another thread that causes issues????

Thanks. I tried that but it didn't work ("App not installed"). In fact I tried to install an old version in multiple ways:
* just install it from ES file explorer
* freeze the current one first using TB and then install
* put a copy of the old one in /data/app/com.google.android.youtube-1 and then install
* put a copy of the old one in /system/app/Youtube and then install
Same error message.

Never heard of that -- could you give me a reference? (I'm not disagreeing with you; I just want to learn more about it).
When I upgrade from 6 to 6.0.1. I reflashed everthing except userdata and recovery; in particular I had to reroot my 6p. I assume that would have erased the old root processes? (this is a question)
Please help me get back youtube!

uninstall all updates to the youtube app. then, flash clear youtube 10.43 LP-MM - from here http://teamblackedout.com/Transparent/ . I flashed it using TWRP, it installs as a system app, replacing your stock youtube app. so if you want to keep the stock youtube app make a backup or know how to pull the stock gapp from the stock factory images.
my youtube didn't work earlier, this is what i did and now it's all working right again
Edit: important that it's the MM version (marshmallow) if you grab it from that link

On my older devices, under Settings>Apps>Manage Apps there is indeed a button for "Uninstall updates", but I can't find that on my 6p (or even my KitKat or Lollipop devices). I probably missed it; please help!

Yea I noticed that was weird. You can do it by hitting the uninstall button in Google play. It'll ask "do you want to uninstall updates"
Or from that system app menu you mentioned, you can select De activate app and it'll ask you if you want to uninstall updates

Thanks, but there is a new problem: On my 6p I don't even have the option to uninstall the youtube app!
I just notice that, according to TB, my phone only has one version of the youtube app; maybe that's why I can't uninstall updates? What would happen if I just flash the zip directly without uninstalling all updates?

if TiBu doesn't say "updated" then you just have the stock system youtube. i flashed the team blackout zip right over that system version and it fixed my problem. if you're problem is the same as mine, it should work.

The zip did remove the youtube system app. I then rebooted and successfully installed an older version of youtube. However, this older version (10.11.55) still gives me the "Check your network connection" error, and according to xprivacy this older version got installed as a system app!
When I first fired up the newer installed, older youtube I got a spinning circle on the screen. It seemed to try to log into my account and couldn't; maybe that's the network connection problem it refers to? BUT: (1) the play store works, (2) I've never logged into youtube (account blocked by xprivacy), (3) when I remove all xprivacy restriction the app still didn't work, (4) when I tried to manually sign into youtube it did not recognize my account!
I'm really confused. Suggestions and comments are most welcome!

10.11 may be too old a version. I just know 10.43 worked for me. i'd try that one if i were you
edit: if you flashed the 10.43 zip already, then installed 10.11 over it, you'd just need to uninstall updates to youtube and try to run the system version (which should be the 10.43 you flashed). also, try wiping YouTube app data in TiBu

I installed a 64bit 10.43 youtube apk, but that didn't work either. So I uninstalled it from TB, but the youtube icon still showed up in the application tray even through the app not longer worked when I clicked on it. Instead of using the cleaning zip I used instead the root explorer option in ES file explorer to remove this left-over youtube apk. Reboot, youtube now was really gone from the app tray. Then I reinstalled the 10.43 apk, and wa la, it worked even after multiple reboots!
I don't exactly know what happens; I'm just glad that it works THANKS!
So I am using lucky patcher to create modified apps. I download an app from Google play just fine, but I modify it then uninstall/install. When I try to install it says it conflicts with an existing package. My question is does it have something to do with the Uninstalled app section in settingd or is it something else? I have looked all over the phone for any files still leftover and can't find any... I have also looked on Google for a solution and none have worked.
Try rebooting after uninstall then install.
Thanks

You should be able to remove all apart from Google play services, framework.
For some reason it doesn't work for me. For example, if I remove Chrome, Facebook messenger breaks, relay for reddit won't start. This is really strange?
I'm using ES file Explorer to remove apps. Titanium says it has deleted but apps are still there after restart.
Any ideas? @callumbr1
Thanks

Hmmm strange. You should just be able to remove chrome as normal and just remove apk.
I would suggest remove the apps you don't want. Then boot to recovery and wipe cache. Then reboot. This should fix and apps breaking/crashing.

Right, I finally figured out what the issue was - it was the webviewer implementation, so when removed system chrome, had to defrost android webview and select it to handle webviews. Problem was gone since!
