So after hours of my life searching the web trying to fix my phone I had to stop and start a thread. Please help me if you can.
I have HTC G2 which is stuck on bootloop, I wanted to do a factory reset on it but that seems to be asking too much..
Here are the HBoot stats:

(Sep 2 2010, time)
I can't get any PCIMG.zip working to the bootloader. It checks it, but will do nothing. (Yes I have correct radio version. But if you doubt me, please provide another one - I would be greatly thankful)
If I get into Recovery I'm able to get CMW with v3.0.2.4 but none of the option really work. I can select it but it will get stuck on the CMW logo (which I can escape by pressing power button which brings me back to CMW menu)
Last time I used this phone was months ago, but I can't get it started since I changed the LCD (old LCD bleeding color)
how did you root? you have s-on but cwm-recovery? did you use the htc unlock?
Did you have the "fake" S-OFF before through running the eng hboot and have now flashed a stock ROM (and therefore a stock hboot, losing your S-OFF) ?

I was looking for sense roms for my mytouch 3g 1.2 and found one that required the radio to be updated to 6.35 ( i double and triple checked to make sure the steps and procedures were specifically for the mytouch with the 32a board ) but after I followed the directions, my phone became unresponsive. It stayed at the HTC Magic screen for about an hour before I turned my phone off and back on again to undo what I had done ( using previous experience from a screw-up I did several months back...basically using the goldcard method to re-root my phone as if it were "new" again ). My problem is, now it's more unresponsive than it was before. it pauses at system - unzipping every time i try to use hboot to load the sappimg.zip. right now my current stats are:

and loads up a red vodafone bootscreen. i honestly think my problem was accidentally pressing the wrong link on Amon_RA's thread about perfected SPL, and i didn't realize it until it was too late... I cannot flash anything thru fastboot, hboot basically stops at system - unzipping when trying to run the sappimg.zip, and "fastboot boot recovery.img" loads the red vodafone screen, but doesn't flash boot the recovery so i can try and fix it with recovery...
all i need to know is if it's entirely bricked, or if i can still save it, and if so, a little nudge in the right direction would be much appreciated...i have been searching google, xda-developers, cyanogenmod, androidforums, etc. for the past 3 days and cannot, for the life of me, find out how to fix the issue...
EDIT: as always, when i ask for help, i end up fixing it somehow...
Hi, unfortunately I will have to ask for help as I can't find a solution myself.
Until today i ran CyanogenMod 6.1 on my Vodafone HTC Magic and wanted to flash GingerYoshi on it.
Therefore I followed this guide to install a new radio and hboot which seemed to be necessary for the GingerYoshi Rom. According to the guide I used the RA-Recovery 1.7 to flash the SuperWipe_v2.zip, rebooted into RA-Recovery again, flashed the radio.zip, rebooted ... into nothing but the vodafone Logo on red background. At the first boot it showed a little box with an arrow pointing to an Android-Robot and then it stuck at the vodafone screen.
I can't get into fastboot (Back + Power) or any other mode (Volume Down + Power) it only boots to the red vodafone screen. The only action I can provoke is a black screen and a blue led when pressing the trackball during power up.
Any ideas what to do now? Did I really screw my telephone?

Yes you did... the reason is simple.
When you flash a radio using the custom recovery, you have to wait like 2 min for it finish. It's normal that it will reboot a couple of times while it's flashing, and it's also normal to see a different picture for a while....
You ( this what I believe) just did not wait long enough for it to finish and tried to push a button or take out the battery...
So, yes, you are bricked!
Thats a shame...but when flashing radio and spl, we have to double our attention.
it happens bro, try pull out the batery and wait till tomorrow, and try again, if it doesnt work, it seem you have briked
Thank you for your answers - even though they aren't very encouraging
But mumilover might be right, although I waited quite some time before I started to panic, I obviously acted to early an interrupted the flashing process.
Does anyone know a German shop which can unbrick the device? Otherwise I will have to buy a new phone. In the meantime I will stick to my good old Siemens S45
Hi Everyone,
I own a HTC Magic 32B (Sapphire) and flashed it several times with different ROMS during the last months with no problem.
2 days ago, I decided to downgrade it to 1.6 Donut since I can't even write a sms properly with higher versions (Cyanogen, Vodafond OTA included)
I started wiping and tried to flash the rom but I faced radio and/or hhoot version issues and there began the nigthmare
At the moment, I've nothing loaded on my internal storage, only a sappimg.nbh on the sdcard. I finally succeed to install alternative drivers on my computer to make fastboot working and tried to flash dozens of different nbh/zip/img (radios, spl, hboot, recovery) without success!
So now, i have a soft/hard bricked phone with no idea on how to fix it.
Several infos to help you understand my case:
- Home + Power gives nothing, just the G1 logo
- Power + Volume Down let the phone detect the nbh file stored on the sdcard but when i start the update, it freezes at the first step (radio_v2) but no issue with signature checking
- Power + Menu gives access to the fastboot menu. From my computer, no way to flash any kind of file (signature checking fails everytime)

Same issue here (from a newbie).
I downloaded to Donut per Unlockr's instructions but couldn't get any new ROM's to load, so tried Clockwork Recovery. Now the phone boots up into Donut and HBOOT correctly, however will not boot into Bootloader.
same problem here :S cant flash anything cant get anywhere.
Find a sappimg.nbh or zip and flash In hboot. You might need a goldcard
Hello,
I recently tried to update the spl/radio to use a new rom on my HTC Magic 32A and after updating the spl the phone just hangs on the "HTC Magic" screen. Fastboot or Recovery wont start if I hold the buttons. Was just wondering if it is bricked or if it is possible to fix via cmd or so? I read alittle on jtag but I think if it came down to that Ill just buy a new phone cause this phone is not worth that much trouble.
I rooted the phone a year or so ago. First I had cyanogen but they dropped support so I switched too gingeryoshi but the wifi stopped working. It still connected to tmobile hotspot but I couldnt tether or connect to my wifi. So I thought of putting on Froyodragon. I updated too HBOOT-1.76.2007 but then it just hanged on reboot.
Thanks for any input.
Turn phone off (if you have bootloop then remove battery and place it back after 10-20 sec)
Turn on by pressing Back + Power - it's fastboot-mode
Write first 5 rows of info (all symbols are important)
If you do not have Android Sdk Tools configured - do it
Additionaly search for fastboot.exe - this utility can be absent from sdk tools
Connect phone to pc when it in fastboot-mode
Run
Code:
fastboot getvar cid
fastboot getvar cidnum
fastboot getvar version-main

hello,
I tired back+power, power+vol down, and power+home, they all just sit at the "HTC Magic" screen.
Did you remove battery before try and placed it back? If yes and any combination did not help -> 'brick'. Only JTAG can help.
What ROM did you have before?
And what ROM did you update?
There are no bricked phones when 32A phone updating with 32A official ROM. I don'y understand how you bricked your device.
Even if hboot updated but radio did not - there are some chances to restore...
Tell us how it happened?
same problem
Sir im also facing the same problem like this person is facing:

D:\adb\tools>fastboot devices
?╞ñ?¿╥§?4:¶♫ fastboot

Yes I removed the battery (only way i could turn it off). I stated most of this info in the first post but Ill try and state specifically what versions I had. When I first rooted I used Cyanogen Rom. It worked fine but they dropped support so I switched too Gingeryoshi. I dont remember what version. I tried to update it too 1.5 first but it didnt work but fastboot and recovery still worked so I decided to switch to a new rom instead and tried Froyodragon but it needed radio 6.35.16.19 and HBOOT-1.76.2007. So I wiped it then I did the HBOOT-1.76.2007 and after installing and rebooting is when it stopped working.
Crap, I just did this too... got a yellow arrow coming from a box onto an Android. I flashed a mismatched 6.35 radio (I guess?).
Can't boot to fastboot--can only boot to blue light mode (trackball+power) and phone will charge if connected by USB--but is never recognized by ADB or fastboot.

Wait 5-10 minutes, "yellow arrow coming from box" equals unpack and flash. Phone should finish this process.
Try to load into hboot-mode: turn phone off (remove battery and place it back if bootlooping), then turn on by pressing Volumedown + power
In this mode you can flash full official rom in sappimg.zip format (or sappimg.nbh if you have 32b magic)
If phone doesn't load into any mode (except trackball + power) - then you have brick and only jtag can help.

But, it goes to a black screen about ten seconds after that.. sadly I think it needs to be jtagged and i will just give it away for parts.
I also tried the sapphire image trick, no luck.
those all sound like bricks..
problem with 32b - looping after rom.
Believe me, I tried a lot here and on google before posting here.
I tried to install a ROM on my htc magic 32b and certainly was not what I should.

I've read very, very much. I read that I have to change the SHIP for ENG.
Also read about ruu, but I found a will for my device, nor know how to run.
First of all, my phone is only on LOOP. I can normally access the fastboot USB.
But does not accept commands, I believe it because of S-ON.
I do not know how to install an img it to get S-OFF.
Could someone help me get back my life device?
Thank you and with the help of google translator.
huahua!!!!
No one post about my problem...
OK i've seen a million of these threads and i just want to confirm that i've bricked the htc magic my brother JUST gave me. It was running cm6 froyo redux and i wanted to get ginger yoshi on there. To do that i had to change the radio. I flashed the radio and then restarted as instructed. But then the phone went into boot loop. I can't boot into recovery and i'm not entirely sure how to access the bootloader. It is S-OFF if that gives me any hope at all.
Thanks for any help
If you have s off you could try mumilovers fastboot commander....I say this method as i found it so easy, just make sure u know what phone u have before doing anymore
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA App
Yeah. Fastboot commander is great tool.
Btw, three modes:
Back + Power (fastboot)
Home + Power (recovery)
Volumedown + Power (hboot)
If phone does not load into any mode => brick
Sent from my A7-040 using Tapatalk
thanks guys. Will try today and get back to you
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
no luck getting into any of those modes. still getting boot loop.
almost had a glimpse of hope. Turned phone on and it didn't go into a boot loop. However, i foolishly turned it off to access fastboot. Will try again later and see.
You must turn phone off before load into any mode. Remove battery and place it back when bootlooping
Similar Problem!
Hey guys! I got a similar problem. I tried to get Ginger Yoshi 1.5 on my phone but had to change the radio and spl. I managed to change them both to 3.22 radio and 1.33.2010 spl but it changed from 32A to 32B. When I saw that I thought something must had gone wrong. I tried changing it back but what I did was a mistake, I think I flashed the stock spl wich I think it was 1.33.0013. I am now going crazy because my phone wont boot or go into recovery mode, all I get is fastboot mode but when I try to flash a new spl or radio I get "FAILED (remote: not allowed)" . Now I'm stuck with that problem and don't know what to do. Any help? (I posted here because all other threads seem to be from 2010, they're old and nobody answers them, and because it is a similar problem).
Thanks!
