After many attempts to get CM7 and CM9 stable on my Nook Color, running off sd card, and getting CM7 pretty stable.
I now have a problem..the build was faulty . So I went and reformatted the card with sd formatter and then went to put on CM7, but Windows and Linux did not see the card at all.... so I took it and formatted it in my nook (which saw it fine) and tried again. Still nothing. I have removed the card from my USB sd card adapter and tried it in 2 laptops with sd card slots... nothing.
Any ideas ??
Tinpau
ps use Win 7 and Ubuntu(main computer) and win xp (laptops)
Check in EASUS or MiniTools partition manager and see if it shows the drive and create a partition in there.

Hey - I just seem to stuck here, I formated my SD card with android and it was unmounted . now I cant mount it back on WM , I only saw its possible in android.
But now of course I cant install android becouse I don't have my SD card..
How to mount it back??
Try to re-format the card to FAT using this methood in Ubunto
and then re-format with windows. Don't know if it will work, but worth a try.

Just google Ubuntu download and burn the iso to a cd. Boot system and find the disk utility in menu system upper left. Don't compound your error by formating your hard drive instead of the SD. Careful!
sd formater.
SD format might work
but if windows does not see the card, sd format might not see it either. He said it could only be seen in Android.
I had also problems with a dead 8gb micro sd in android. I could not bring it back to live under windows7 neither under macosx. I just plugged the card into a sanyo xacti camera with an sd adapter and the Sanyo asked me for formatting... Card was back to life.
It is worth to try with a camera, just my 2 cents experience.

Man, you just saved my previous 16GB card So happy!
Problem solved!
You just need to plug in and select disk drive - then it lets you format the card and you can see it normal again .
I formatted the SD Card on my HTC HD2 to 2 partitions FAT32 and the other for Windows phone 7. So I have a MagLdr to allow dual boot between Windows phone 7 and Android. When I boot into Android (SD/Magldr) it does not detect SD Card. All applications which use SD Card dont work as they complain "Insert SD Card". I tried to reformat the card using Easeus (also tried it with windows) but no luck.
The mount SD Card option on my phone is greyed out so could not do that either.
This is a 16 GB Sandisk micro SD Card. I tried various Android version but no luck. Any idea how to fix this problem . Please help.
Format it while its in your phone and dont partition it
and recheck if the application work
The Format option is also grayed out as it does not detect SD Card. I wonder if this is a problem as I am loading Android from SD Card (using Magldr).
Hey guys so I tried installing Icecream Tosti's ICS rom v0.6 but it after booting up I saw that the previous version (o.5) was still on the the phone and all my settings and stuff were still there. I had done a fresh install and was confused. So I tried again but it didn't work and when I tried formatting my sd card it wouldn't let me.
I have tried many different tools: Mini tool partition manager, easeus partition manager, hp sd card utility, panasonic sd card formatter, and windows disk management but I kept on getting the errors, can't format. I plugged in the sd card into the computer via a sd card reader and a usb sd reader and even tried different computers but the same error popped up.
Just recently I booted into the rom and plugged in the phone through the usb cable. When I formatted using some of the tools above it showed me the format process was completed, but when I unplugged the phone and rebooted the phone the sd card reverted back to its original state and the sd card was not erased.
Does anyone have any ideas how to fix it? or is my sd card completely gone. I feel like it is just locked and write protected but I don't know how to unlock it since there is no switch on the side. I will really appreciate. Thanks in advance.
I have installed MccMBoxmaX MixTheme RR V11 through the sd card method (WinMo / Android dual boot). Everything works ok, but I donĀ“t have access to the sd card, so it doesn't let me take photos (says that no sd card is inserted). What am I doing wrong?
solved it with sd formatter 3.0
hi there,
maybe you have solved the issue, maybe this is still helpful: i downloaded the "sd formatter 3.0" (just google it) and formatted my sd card through a card reader (not via usb), after that android accepted the sd card.
BUT: when i initially ran the procedure in win xp, the card wasn't readable after formatting, so win xp prompted me to format it again. i then ran the formatter in windows 7 and everything went great.
After attemptindg to make a bootable sd card with CM7 and failed probably due to my inexperience I tried to reformat the card and start over again. Now my computer will sometimes recognise the card and other times not. The real problem is that the nook will not not mount the card and formatting on the nook fails every time. I have tried numerous sd cards and none will not format on the nook. As a last resort I have done the 8x's reset and now am back to the begining but it willstill not format the sd card. Any help as where to start would be greatly apperciated

You need to format the card on your PC with SDFormatter (free on the web). It formats it properly so the nook can read it and erase it if you want.

nook color will not mount sd card
Thanks-- I have downloaded the sdformat program and formatted the sd card as you indicated. When I put the card in the nook it asked to format the card. At that point I ejected the card and followed your instructions in the signature of your message. At this point I put the card
into the nook and powered it up. The nook then booted into the Barnes and Noble software. It looks as if the nook is not seeing the sd card.
any suggestions?
Steve
Just tried again. (formatting.. burning image and the cm7.2 zip file to the sd card and the nook will not boot at all with the sd card inserted.
Take out the card and it boots to the stock software.. May be a new card is needed???

You are sending me mixed issues. You said you tried to make bootable SD. It failed. Then you could not get the nook to recognize card or the PC to reliably recognize it. What I told you to do was for getting the card back as readable on the PC and nook.
Now you are trying to make it bootable again? That is a different issue. Look in my nook color tips thread at item A9 to see some issues with making a bootable SD.
And you are sure this is a Nook Color, not a Nook Tablet?

Thanks for the reply, as i said earlier I did reformat the card as per you suggestion to no avail. The PC was able to recognise the card and the nook color was not. At that point I tried to make the card bootable again hoping that the Nook would see it with the image on it. Now the nook color will not boot up at all with the card inserted but will boot normallly to stock without the sd card inserted. Sorry for any confusion. I will try and reformat the card again an and let you know wha happens. This time I will go no furthur till I hear from you folks.
Again thanks for all you do!! Steve

What you did not say in your earlier post was whether after formatting the SD and inserting in the NC and it asking if you wanted to format, was did you try to let the NC format it and was it successful? You just said you immediately removed it and followed some instructions from my signature. I have a lot of instructions there so I don't know what you did.

The sd card formatted sucessfully. at that point I inserted it into the nook and booted it up. The nook indicated that the card was inserted. Then it asked to format the sd card. When I did so the reply was formatting failed. Tried several attempts. The computer had no problem seeing the
card so i put the image on the card along with the CM encore zip file and tried it in the nook. The nook would not boot with the card inserted,
so now at this point I have formatted the card again sucsessfully using the sd formatter program. Not sure where to go from here.
thanks for all you help thus far....Steve

All I can suggest now is a different card.

IAJust tried a brand new Sandisk card to no avail. The nook color notifies me of the card being inserted but that it needs to be formatted. When the format option is selected the format fails. Do you think there is something physically wrong with the sd card Reader? Is there an alternate way of getting the CM software on the. Nook color. I am openn to any suggestions. Tkank for all the assistance. Steve

May be card reader and may be your slot in the nook.
Yes there is an alternate way using ADB, but it is not simple.
You have to connect with ADB, mount the boot partition and push the RecImg and RecRam files from the burned card to the boot partition. But you have to use my bootable CWM SD to get the files. Most other CWM cards don't have them. Those two files replace the stock versions and then you can boot to CWM by holding the n key while booting. Then you can choose files to flash from internal memory.

Thanks for the idea.... but being a novice I think that that one may be over my head. I think at this point I'll just have a regular old Nook color ereader. Thanks for all your help and suggestions..I think that the Nook color has gotten the best of me. Steve
