Half bricked Transformer - Eee Pad Transformer General

Hey there,
I have trouble! I was playing with chrooted ubuntu, busybox, and so..
Than, I started getting error in terminal apps:
sh: applet not found
WiFi stopped working.
I tried cold boot.. Did not help.
SDCard is not accessible. I decided to wipe it. In recovery I choosed Wipe Data/Factory reset.
But after that, still no WiFi. I can see networks, I can click on them, but it is still getting IP address..
I would like to flash the ROM, but how? Recovery cannot mount /sdcard!
What should I do? Thank you
(asus transformer, sbkv2, B80)

i just got over the same exact issues caused by the same exact thing.
The only way to fix it was to flash either stock or a modified rom. What do you mean recovery cant mount sdcard. If you have cwm installed just put a rom on your microsd and use cwm to flash it. If you dont have cwm yet then you can take the stock firmware off the asus website, put it on the internal or external sdcard boot the transformer like normal, and you will see a little exclamation mark next to the clock in the bottom right corner, click it and it will take you through the motions of upgrading then reboot and reflash. o you probably lost root access too, I know i did, so reroot when done if you want.

There's no such thing as "half-bricked". It's dead or it's not. Yours fortunately still does stuff so you can keep trying.
Could it be this sdcard is moody? Tried a different sdcard?
Alternative ways could be using nvflash while connected to a PC with the USB cable. There are many guides on this forum.
Good luck.

You do have an external micro sd card correct?
You can try Team Rouge's CWM recovery, it work with internal sd card.
There's a modified RecoveryInstaller here that will flash Team Rouge's recovery

After 2 days of trying, I did it
I rebooted it about 2 milions times. He did not see the SD card. But then he finally mounted it and I quickly installed ROM.. uhh..
So, it was my Asus Transformer's PMS or something
Thanks you guys. It was a fight

So.. I'm about to start tinkering with ubuntu on my TF101... I did this on my Droid 4 with no issues, the Tablet is next on the list... What exactly did you do to hose the tablet?
I just want to try to learn from your mistake.
Thanks.

Acer Iconia - Too far gone? Bootloop, No ADB, etc. (Incentives inside)

Ok guys, here's my setup. I am a a ROM and developer and have yet to be stumped until I received this tablet from a user.
The tablet is stuck in a bootloop, no clockwork recovery, only stock, and will not respond to adb. Flashing various imgs all warrant the same response: A quick progress bar and then back to the stock Android/exclamation point screen.
After hooking up a keyboard via USB 2.0, I can move around within stock recovery. I can wipe data and cache. When trying to flash via external SD like it prompts, I get bad volume for /sdcard. I have formatted, diff SD cards, etc. Is there anyway to recover? Willing to donate to the cause.
Thanks!
Have you tried manual flashing via external SD card with image in it and then power on decvice with Vol- and power button held together?
Is this going to be yours or are you trying to repair it for someone?
It might be fubar without adb and no ability to read the sd.
I would assume knowing you that you have already dl'd the acer drivers

Dude I didn't know you were a Rom. Bet you get flashed a lot huh.
On a serious note, TDB is worth helping if someone wonders into this thread and knows how to help, pm him or something. Dude is a damn good dev and all round helpful guy. He'd be a welcome addition here.
I have no experience with these things, but a good starter point would be to explain exhaustively what exactly happened before this issue arised. Were you installing a custom ROM? Did the tablet just reboot in the middle of you doing something? Do you know if it has overheated?

[Q] Acer A500 won't move past splash screen

Something got messed up when I tried to flash my acer a500 from a rooted version of 3.1. One problem I have (and I admit it was my fault) is I did not move my backed up ROM to my external card - so I don't have anything to restore.
My device will boot to CWM (v5, rev 1.3.4), I've tried loading several different ROMs just to flash something on there to get my device back to square one.
I got in this predicament because I had regular OTA 3.2 and couldn't root. I downgraded to 3.1 (buggy and endless FC), but I was able to run gingerbreak for rooting, do a backup (titanium) and my impression at that point was I could flash a custom mod through CWM.
Nothing is working. I have formatted the sd card in CWM and tried ROMs like Thor 14.2, Tabooney 3.0 and several 3.1/3.2 Acer stock ROMs. After wiping data/factory, wipe cache, wipe Dalvik and Battery Stats and then trying to load a zip file from /sdcard it either tells me the installation fails (which most believe is a bad dl), or (in the case of CWM_ROM_A500_701414_GEN1.zip), the install actually goes through - Finding update...opening update...Installing update... - but whenever I reboot after a *successful* install my device just hangs at the Acer logo/splash screen forever.
I've tried resetting the device (power/ + vol /lock on/off/on/off) and it hangs for a long time Erasing Cache.
I'm overwhelmed. I just want to get a stock ROM on that will install successfully so I can have a functional machine back. Can someone tell me if I'm doing something wrong or what I can do here? Thanks
Never mind
I used a different SD card and that did the trick

Probably have a corrupted SD. Might just do a full format on it and still be usable.

Acer Iconia A200 Help! SoftBricked?

HI All,
i'm newbie on this site and I've run into a scenario that I am unsure of what to do now. I believe that I may have soft bricked my Acer Iconia A200. Here is what happened:
[*]- My tablet is US, 64gb and on ICS ROM
[*]- Tried One Click tools to root, unlock bootloader and install CWM (Successful)
[*]- I then ventured in installing a custom rom
[*]- I panicked when I did not do a NAND Backup/ Wipe before flashing and my tablet froze when installing the custom ROM
[*]- My tablet is now stuck on the ACER Screen
[*]- Tried superwipe- did not work stuck on /data
[*]- Tried flashing Stock ROM WW/PA, was able to go to ICONIA TAB Screen but stuck
[*]- Factory reset, thru tiny hole and the three button manipulation step did not work. error on erasing user data
[*]- Tried AROMA, Flashed Ultrabase and my tab now boots and was able to start!.............................. BUT
MY INTERNAL STORAGE IS ONLY 66MB and it's always full! Therefore I cant download/install anything. I can still browse via wifi so that's fine. Also rebooting the device acts as if it was always it's first run (asking for gmail account, setting up time and everything)
So, Here is what's working and my main issues:
- Recovery (Thor, TWRP, CWM) works
- Fastboot and ADB also works
- Can mount everything but /data. Working SD and USB (Flashdrive plugged in works)
- Internal Storage always full and only 66MB!
Here is what I've tried already:
- ADB, mke2fs (I read somewhere that if data cant be mounted/reset, we can do this) but it is stuck at 50-60/224 when writing inodes
- Hard Resets (via phone itself(since I got it running), via pin hole, via power + volume up + toggle lock) error on userdata
- Wipes on recovery mode (superwipe, format on thor, twrp and cwm does not work freezing on data or can't mount data at all)
- Fastboot erase (-w, userdata, data) did not work, invalid argument
I am really thinking the data partition (/dev/block/mmcblk0p8) needs to be fixed, it can't be mounted, but adb still sees it (i tried fdisk shows it 29 GB, /dev/block/mmcblk0 still shows 32GB. I just dont know how to use fdisk in ADB to partition or something)
Any thoughts guys? You help would be greatly appreciated!
Update
Still not working. AS a workaround I tried the swap internal memory to SD card hoping that it would work (completely ignore the corrupted? 32GB) but i cant install apps and still boots as if it was first boot. I can however, take pictures download stuff but not install it. So I reverted back.
BY the way, when connecting my Tab to PC, the internal memory's file system is Hiererchical, is that normal? Is there any way for me to repartition/reformat my internal storage?
Thanks

Hey man, I have the exact same problem did you make any move progress with your tablet??????????
Have you had any success at all? My Acer a200 has been bricked since the end of November, and I've been feverishly trying to find a solution (in my opinion, there should be a way to dual-boot to a real linux OS, but I can't even boot into android further than the "iconiatab" logo, so that's out of the question). I've looked at all the solutions concerning my softbricked a200, but nothing can really be applied if I can't get adb to work. Is there any help out there?

Mine became softbricked around the same time. I've been looking around for solutions since then, and nothing has come up. I really feel like taking the tab and have someone video me smashing it on the ground. I am so frustrated that i can't get this thing fixed.

[Q] Need HELP with bootloop

I cannot seem to find this problem anywhere else here but forgive me if it is. I have a TF101 I believe pre B70 although I can't find anything that says that but I bought it in Aug of 2011. I have CWM 5.8.3.4 which was installed with the rom manager first mistake as it can't access my ext SD card. I had JB and wanted to go back to Revolution Rom as I was having some SOD issues and decided to use Super wipe. I think Super wipe froze as I was using it and after waiting 15 minutes after the 3rd format I rebooted. The CWM problem which existed before is that in order to not boot into CWM I had to hold the Vol down button and then when I got to WIPE DATA or ANDROID screen I could chose android and it would boot into the rom. I tried NVflash and ADB in APX mode and although device manager says it is in APX mode in I cannot get it to react to any commands. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the drivers from google and asus but nothing seems to work. I am not sure if I could use odin although I don't think it is recognized there either. I tried another computer and nothing. One thing I did do in CWMR is format everything but now I can't get it to mount /data. Any help would be appreciated

Thank you for replying but
I cannot put anything on the sd card because
1 it won't mount
2 can't push anything to it because the computer won't see it (although device manager has it as APX)

So I tried on a third computer and finally got the drivers to work in NVflash which took it back to Honeycomb. Wow what a relief.

[Q] Bootloader Ics v3.14.8 + Recovery Twrp v2.1.3, after you hit install?

Hey all! I've been lurking around XDA for years for various devices. I'm good with computers but newer to Android/Linux. And I don't have much of a programming background. I have done some installing of custom ROMS on a phone of mine and even dabbling in a kitchen some. So it's not totally foreign to me.
I've been reading about custom ROMS on and off for a few months thinking about installing a custom ROM. And then actually reading and researching it the last day or two. Since we're not going to get Jelly Bean I decided finally to update to a custom Jelly Bean ROM. I am finding all the information very unorganized and very spread out. And not very comprehensive. Which is making it hard to get a good grasp of everything. Things like what SKBs are and APX mode. And exactly what processes you need to take to install which ROMS. If you need to install a kernel or it does it automatically ect. Very confusing! I thought I had figured out enough to do it.
On my A500 I had the latest Acer ICS OTA update but rooted. I want to install the CM10 Jellytime ROM. I did a factory reset. Using AfterOTA v1.09 I installed first "Bootloader Ics v3.14.8+Thor v1.7.3". Then after that I changed to "Bootloader Ics v3.14.8+Recovery Twrp v2.1.3. It seemed to work fine. I got into the bootloader. I have the Jellytime ZIP file on my external SD card. The first time I think I just clicked install, picked the ZIP and did the swipe to install. Which brings me to my big question. What is it supposed to do after that? It just went back to the Recovery boot animation and back into the recovery without seemingly doing anything. If I rebooted holding the Vol-, it would just go into Recovery and not flash anything. If I just let it boot it would boot the factory ROM. The Thor recovery did something similar.
I then did the wiping/formatting of all of the cache, factory resets and system. And when I tried to install it again basically the same results. Except now it won't boot into the factory ROM since I wiped the system. Which will also not let it connect over USB and to the AfterOTA. If I turn it on holding the Vol+ and get the boot menu and pick the fastboot it tries to do the fastboot but just hangs on the Fastboot notification.
I've been searching and reading but can't figure out if I didn't do something I should have or missed a step. Any help would be appreciated.
Ah! I figured it out! I didn't realize that even though you're using a custom recovery program that you still have to name the ROM file "update.zip". I thought that might be the case but couldn't connect the tablet to the computer via USB and didn't have an SD adapter to connect the card to the computer and change the name. I ended up getting a card adapter. After I changed the name it worked.
