I don't want to get the txt notifications when the cell is locked. How can I turn it off?
I wouldn't want NOSY ppl reading my texts!
thanks in advance.
to be honest,i think you can only do that if you disable your notifications under calendar-settings.try that

Hi guys.
I seem to be having SMS notification problems. Upon receiving a SMS I get the notification fine, but when I dismiss it it does not go away unless I dismiss it a second time.
This is very annoying and hopefully not a "feature" of WM5 notifications.
Furthermore it does not seem possible to dismiss the voicemail notification AT ALL...
Reg fix anyone?
Thanks for any help!

I can't say you are the only one, but for certain, I do not have that problem. As for voicemail, once it is listened to, the vmail indicator/notification should go away.
Damn so then its a problem with :
a) Software I have installed
b) extended rom cab i have not installed
c) the planet alignment...
As for the voicemail yeah listening to it makes the notification go away, but surely "dismiss" should make it dismiss without needing to actually hear the voicemail ?
Anyone have any ideas ? I can post exactly what roms/software I have installed if it helps...
Cheers!
The "sms" that you have received is not a normal sms notifcation from the voicemail.
I think your voicemail has an extra option for notification, it's called "icon notification" in a normal phone you will see an enveloppe which tells you there are new voicemail messages. this enveloppe can only be deleted by listening to all new messages, after you've done that the voicemail will send a notification to your phone to turn the icon off.
BUT windows mobile 5 cannot handle the icon notification which means the icon will not be removed if you listen to your voicemail messages. while you're listening to your new voicemail messages you will notice that you will receive an empty sms (this is the notification for the phone to turn the icon off) unfortunately the phone does not understand the notification to turn the notification off, so as far as I know there's no way to get rid of the message.
I solved it by turning off the icon notification option in the voicemail, then did a hardreset and but my backup back.
I hope you understand what the option icon notification, otherwise just ask!
grtz,

Does anyone know how to turn on repeat for unread txt messages - the option is there but it cannot be used
Do you mean like a notification beep that lets you know you have a text? If so, I've been wondering about that too. Also, where do you see the option?
Is there any way to hide the display of the latest sms message on the lock screen? Please help! Thanks.
If anyone has any clue it'd be greatly appreciated...I live with my ex if that keys you guys into why I need it lol
What about turning a lock screen pattern on or download sms popup and turn on the privacy setting. See what that does.
I would like to know this, it's very important for my privacy.
help would be great ly appreciated.
I believe you can do that with Chomp SMS.

Get handcent sms from the market it's free, and disable your normal sms app notification. In handcent you can customise just about everything, including pop ups etc.
agreed. handcent has the option to have the popup on the lock screen or below the lock screen
My phone doesn't make any noise or notifications when I'm on the phone and I receive a text. Is there a setting to enable this?
I'm constantly missing important text messages while I'm talking on the phone, and it's bugging me a lot.
