Try as I might...
I just cannot seem to be able to choose a custom audio file for my alarm in the Clock stock app.
I was allowed to do it on the GNote...
But my 7.7 6800.. well.... I just cant figure this one out..
How to change the Alarm Clocks tone to one on my micro card??
Thanks for any Help!!!
I have encountered a similar issue with Ringtones and Notifications. For some reason the system is not picking up the files that are on the SD Card.
I am running the Stock HK Rom non rooted.

Hi Everybody...
I have done a search and I apologize if the information that I need is located in another thread, or I am not using the right combination of words to find it but I need the OEM/Stock ringtones for my Vibrant.
I switched from a G1 to the Vibrant (which I love). The back and forth with the SD cards, old programs, etc made my phone a mess. So, I did a hard reset and cleared my internal memory. I would have thought that the ringtones would have comeback, but i don't see them anywhere.
There were a few of the stock ringtones that I liked, but I can't remember the names of them.
Could someone provide me with those ringtones? Please?
They're Baaaack....
Ok....the ringtones are back. I performed what i thought was a hard reset (after reading conflicting info on the web). I went into "SD card and phone storage", unmounted my "Phone storage", and formatted my phone storage. I restarted the phone, my stock ringtones were missing.
To fix the problem, I did a factory data reset and now my stock ringtones are back.
I am not sure if this was an isolated incident or whatever but i thought i would let people know what i did to fix the problem.
Thanks for reading!
Huh, well that's kind of weird, as the stock ringtones are stored in /system/media/audio/ringtones and that folder's not anywhere near the internal storage.
Glad to hear it's fixed, though.
Hello,
I like you, like the stock ring tones but I've change to a different rom. Is there anyway you can extract them and put them online so I can get the ones that I like? It will be greatly appreciated.
I flashed my DROID 2 to Fission 2.2.1 and it's amazing, but I have an issue. I have about 2.5 GB of music loaded on it and I had it divided into a few different playlists. Now those lists appear to be gone, but I can still see them on the SD card. Is there a way for me to restore them? I don't see an option to browse for a playlist within the music app on the phone. Thanks for any help on this!
edit: I did use Titanium backup prior to flashing the ROM and was able to get my apps and such back, but not the playlists. I don't know if I made a backup error or if there's another option to still get them back.
Meanwhile sorry for my bad english.
My problem is: sometime on startup my defy don't recognize the ringtones that i have putted in Ringtones and Notification folders on the root of my sdcard. It's just a my issue? What can i do?
I'm running CM7.2 02/20/12 nightly.
Anyone can help me?
I think it may be a problem with your card. Try taking it out and clean it (also it's slot). And if this will not fix your problem try to switch your card with someone for 1-2 days to see it the problem occurs again.
Thanks but I've already tried. But i noticed that by launching a media scanner after the start up sometime the problem does not occur.
Maybe it's a nightly problem. Try updating to a more recent one? I'm on Quarx's builds and never had this problem.
ur memory card is stable?? maybe its so slow to load the data from ur sd card.. or try to move the desired ringtone into the phone memory of ur defy.
I switched to CM9 and the problem disappeared. Thanks for advise
Hi my g900w8 is rooted and have used the sd card fix. I have a SanDisk ultra microsd. It saves my pictures, transfers music, documents etc fine.
I've used the application manager to move apps to the SD card ie. Challenger comic viewer and once I move it the icon goes grey looks like a sd card icon and when I tap the icon it loads then I get a pop up the app is not installed.
At the moment I'm on stock firmware, I'll be trying some custom roms so I hope with the custom roms this issue is corrected.
I am asking this because I wasn't sure if this was an issue for stock and custom firmware and anytime I tried to search all the topics are about moving apps to sd card using the app manager but nothing about issues.
Thanks for any help if I somehow missed a thread regarding this or I'm S.O.L. because this is an issue with kit Kat. Then I apologize for wasting ppl time

Same issue here.
Apps moved to extsd in app manager and using a specific app which effectively takes you to the same move to sd stage in app manager.
Same results but not immediately.
All showed up for a week.
Next day 2 were missing.
Following day another.
Only way to get them running again is to re download and install from market (where they don't show as installed).
Thought it might have been my SanDisk 64GB card.

Hi all,
On my i9505 I have the latest CM12 20150207.
The problem is whenever I reboot my phone, the custom ringtone and notification tones would switch back to default.
I have searched online and most people solved this problem my uninstall an app associated with the sound profile, but this does not seem to be the case for me as I have the same apps as my previous rom (CM11 M8) and everything was fine then.
I suspect it might have something to do with the SD card permission bug, which is annoying many people out there (not being able to move apps from internal storage to SD card).
I will appreciate it if anyone has any advice for me.
Thanks in advance,
Nelson
